While the Golden Goose's founder wasn't a person that possessed much might, he was able to deduce Michael's strength solely by noting the reactions of the nearby soldiers.
"Y—Yes, please follow me." The man bowed before leading the way.
When he noticed that aside from Michael there were other people following after him, he was able to let out a sigh of relief.
Even he was able to tell that two of the women behind him were not to be trifled with.
In a timely manner, Michael and his crew were led to the business headquarters.
"Thank you for coming." The man bowed once again.
"I am Ford, the founder of the Golden Goose. I request your help to rescue Jasmine, my daughter—"
The man went into details about where he lost contact with her, as well as what her assigned job had been.
"She had wanted to help the people in the outskirts?" Michael mumbled.
"Yes." Ford nodded.
"Originally she wanted to help the ones suffering here. Even going as far as to create a grand plan on how to get rid of the three main gangs in the outer city… But by sheer luck, one soldier went there and dealt with them."
Of course Ford didn't know the one responsible for getting rid of the troublemakers was Michael. If he knew, no one could predict his reaction.
"Inspired, she begged me to be sent to the other cities. At first I was against the idea, but she managed to change my mind by showcasing how much untapped purchasing power the unfortunate people have."
The man gritted his teeth.
"With Triton's reinforcements, I felt that the surroundings had become a safe enough place. That led me to allow her to go, hoping she would get experience… If I had known what would happen, I would have never permitted her to go!"
Ava arched an eyebrow. "Experience? How old is she?"
Ford sighed in dedication. "Twelve."
"..."
"You sent a twelve year old to roam the dangerous planet?!"
Understandably, she became enraged. At the same time, Michael was deep in thought.
'Jasmine… When I heard the name, I figured it was a coincidence, but if she really is only twelve, then she must be the one I know from my prior life…'
According to his memories, Jasmine was going to rise to become one of the most influential businesswomen in the solar system. The reason he remembered her name was because he was moved by her righteous nature. She often disregarded profit in order to help the less fortunate.
In a twist of fate that led her to gain a reputation, increasing her profit margins exponentially.
'To think that she is eager to help people when she is so little. I can't even remember what I was doing at that age, but it certainly wasn't helping humanity.'
"Ford, was it?" Halting Ava's outrage, Michael reached out and grabbed the man's hand in a firm handshake.
"You have done a great job as a father."
"...T—Thank you." The man nodded, confusion evident in his face.
Unsurprisingly, Michael agreed to help. Jasmine would prove an invaluable ally in the future. Not to mention that with him meddling in the events of history, it could result in her death, and he wasn't about to lose a person with such vast potential.
After ironing out the details, they were ready to depart.
"You are willing to go right away?!" Ford felt his eyes becoming moist. He had feared it would take a long time to find help and even longer to send them out.
"Yes, since we didn't train due to the festival, we are far from exhausted." Michael reasoned.
In truth he was concerned about Jasmine's safety. Originally Neptune wasn't going to experience such an influx of alien forces. With him changing the events, it could very likely result in the young girl's death, and he was having none of that.
[Where to Master?]
Rather than taking a train, the faction boarded Cyberfang. Both because trains would take too long to depart and the girl could be stuck in a place without any railroads.
As for Claire, her mecha was damaged from the recent duels with Cyberfang, so she opted for going out without it.
Saving time, Michael transmitted the map they had been given to the AI's interface.
ROAR!
With Amelia overcharging it with electricity, the beast headed off toward the night's darkness.
'Fortunately the upgraded scanner would pick up any alien from afar, so the decrease in visibility won't be a problem.' Michael mused.
Exiting the city's walls, Cyberfang's heating generator began to work overtime, halting the blizzards from assaulting Michael and his crew.
Nothing was able to slow them down.
Meanwhile, a frightened girl with red hair and emerald eyes desperately tried to close the wound of a soldier.
"Miss Jasmine, please leave me be and save yourself—"
The man coughed blood.
"Your father has tasked me with keeping you safe. I will fulfill my duty even if that is the last thing I do."
Stubbornly Jasmine bit her lower lip, seeping blood. Managing to stop tears from coming out of her eyes, she pressed the cloth she had taken tightly toward the man's sliced-off arm.
"Stop spewing nonsense, Conor! I would rather die than leave anyone behind!"
With her being a daughter of a prosperous business, she had been assigned a guard for as long as she could remember. In her eyes the man wasn't a simple employee but a family.
"You stubborn girl—" Conor attempted to rise to his feet only to fail miserably.
His face was as pale as a sheet. Despite the girl's best effort, he had lost too much blood. Unless he received treatment, he would perish before long.
"Please… save yourself…" His plea landed on deaf ears.
Opening her mouth, Jasmine was about to retort, only to halt, feeling a chill running down her spine.
While not being far in her cultivating journey, she was instantly able to feel the aura of the monster responsible for their demise.
Had Conor been in peak condition, even he would have been helpless against such a being, even though he was in the Expert realm.
"Why did you go quiet? Sooner or later I am going to find you..."
The alien spoke in a mocking tone, a smile spreading across its hideous face.
Its confidence was understandable since most soldiers would cower before its presence.
For the alien was a General.
