Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 166: Monarch's Lair

Bloody trails littered the frozen ground as the Lords mercilessly pushed past the minions of the queen.

Regardless of their mind-boggling number, these creatures were simply too weak to inflict any harm on the Lords, since their bodies were still brimming with vitality.

After a full minute passed, and they created some distance from the place where the two armies had met each other, Azure's Lord deviated his path slightly, going towards Caroline.

"Can you feel it?" He asked with a frown.

"Yes." She replied with a smile. The man was referring to the fact that, in addition to the Lords who had already taken part in the campaign, one more had chosen to join them on their journey to the swarm heart.

This was undoubtedly the Lord that had ambushed them before when they had tried to cultivate the spiritual energy of the fallen Overlord, killing two of them in the process.

"It appears my fears have come true. Aside from the three members of the Immortal Legion, we have to worry about him too…"

Hearing his companion, Caroline chuckled.

"Oh, come on now. Don't talk like we aren't going to fight amongst ourselves after we deal with the alien threat." She exclaimed with a seductive tone. "The only thing that separates us is that these four Lords will act as a team while the rest of us will be on our own."

Azure's Lord nodded. "That is correct, so I propose a temporary truce. Until the aliens and the Immortal Legion's agents are dead, we shouldn't fight amongst ourselves."

"Oh~?" Caroline mused. "Quite daring, considering you hoped your troops would get rid of mine while they were busy carrying out their duty."

The man frowned. "The idea was yours from the beginning. You forced my hand."

With a sigh Caroline waved her hand. "So be it, until our enemies have fallen, we won't fight amongst ourselves. After that it will be free for all."

With a nod of approval, the Azure's ruler went back into formation.

The Lords continued to carve themselves a path completely undisturbed, with the echoes of the distant battle fading in the background.

Eventually they came to a halt before the base of operation where the alien's queen resided. Now being able to examine it from close, they were able to see its grey color and its rather sticky substance.

If they had to describe it, it was similar to a spider's web, though several times more resilient.

However, they didn't stop because they wanted to examine their base. Since they were now dangerously close, they were able to feel the terrifying aura that exuded from inside.

There was no mistaking it. What awaited them there wasn't an Overlord but a Monarch.

"We really have shitty luck." Azure's Lord muttered in dejection.

"Do we?" Caroline tempted with an alluring smile. "Regardless of its tier, we have an easy way to kill their queen, making use of her weak points. The fact that she is one tier higher than expected means there would be more spiritual energy to absorb."

Azure's Lord remained silent, as he silently threw a glance at the members of the Immortal Legion.

Since their faction was considered the second strongest, behind only the Golden Vanguard, it was safe to say that they didn't need to boost the power of their ranks even more.

The unaffiliated Lords wanted to avoid giving more power to the tyrannical faction if possible.

After all, they wanted to hoard all the power for themselves!

"Less talking, more doing." One of the Lords complained.

Exchanging glances, they all nodded in unison, taking hold of each other's hands. Closing their eyes, they took deep breaths as the spiritual energy in their bodies began to resonate with each other.

What they were performing was known as a shared technique. By allowing their power to flow freely between them, they could greatly intensify its effects.

Usually this was something that only the weakest of cultivators would be forced to rely on in tough times. Since by doing it they were inherently admitting they couldn't deal with what awaited them alone.

The fact that the Lords were relying on this tactic spoke volumes about how much they wanted to exterminate what lay in the alien's lair and, in turn, consume its power.

In irritation the nearby Ro'trah began to give up attacking the Lords, knowing that their strikes would be futile.

Slowly the pressure that built across the Lords intensified until it reached its peak potential.

"Sacred flames."

Now charged with the power of over a dozen Lords, potentially reaching the destructive capability of a King's technique, they unleashed their trump card against the aliens.

This flame, unlike normal ones, was white, burning with such ferocity that it had the potential to surpass even the sun itself.

Even more dangerous was that once an entity that hadn't been part of the casting process caught the Sacred flames, even if it was just a small spark, it would burn until its whole existence was reduced to ash.

The perfect weapon against an enemy that relied on billions of warriors.

"Let's go!"

As the Sacred flames began to engulf the alien's structure, the Lords made haste to enter its interior.

The positive side of the flames, aside from burning their foes, was that everything that was in the alien's lair would be trapped forever, and in addition, anything that wanted to enter it would have to be burned by the merciless flames.

Whoosh!

Inside the alien's headquarters, it looked more like a maze rather than a place for living. The ceilings and walls were riddled with holes where the numerous little minions would rest when they weren't obeying the orders of their queen.

"Makes me sick to the stomach." A frown appeared over Caroline's peerless face.

"Is that so? After we are done here, there is something I can give you that will surely help you vent your frustration…" A member of the Immortal Legion winked at her suggestively.

"Go kill yourself." Caroline instantly shut him down.

"Tch." The man clicked his tongue, giving up for now. "You won't be talking to me like this when I reach the next realm…"

Smoke began to fill the alien's lair as the Sacred Flames steadily consumed larger and larger portions of it.

Eventually the Lords came to a complete stop simultaneously, a threatening aura overwhelming their senses.

They had found the Monarch queen.
