Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 168: Verdict Executed

Outside the swarm's heart, the humanity army was slowly being pushed back. Since the Ro'trah queen knew very well that calling back her minions would be pointless with the Sacred flames that had engulfed their base, she had given them the duty to eradicate all human life.

Now, without the support of the Lords, the army found itself losing soldiers faster than they could eradicate the troublesome aliens.

By now every rank had descended into pure insanity. Even the backliners weren't spared, with the mechas slowly being overrun and destroyed, letting the threat fly past the frontal troops.

"Hold the line!"

"Dedicate your lives!"

"If we turn back now, who will protect our loved ones?!"

In an attempt to keep their spirits high, the soldiers shouted at the top of their lungs.

Even as dozens of the little creatures entered their bodies through their eye sockets, starting to wreak havoc, devouring their organs, and reducing them to mush, they refused to fall until their bodies gave out.

"GLORY TO MANKIND!"

A soldier, who had his eyes gouged out, roared at the top of his lungs. Knowing that his end was inevitable with the aliens ravaging in his insides, he chose to at the very least take the gruesome creatures with him. Pulling the pin of a grenade, he didn't hesitate even for a second as he gulped it down in an instant.

Boom!

Seconds later his body exploded, killing the beings that had infiltrated his body.

Quickly the death toll turned from hundreds of thousands to millions.

"Our rulers are risking their lives to deal with the leader of the swarm! We must do everything we can to support them!"

At the very rear of the army formation, Michael's crew saved as many lives as they could, but compared to the number of soldiers being lost every second, their efforts felt insignificant.

"Disgrace, disgrace, disgrace!" Victoria gritted her teeth in fury.

Was there really no better way to deal with the alien threat? Must they really lose so many human lives today?

In truth, she already knew the answer. They didn't need to lose so many lives. Support from even a single King would have saved millions. However, cultivators of such realms were arrogant and often busy. They wouldn't bother coming here to save the lives of soldiers they viewed as expendable, much less for a planet that was close to worthless in their eyes.

'If only I had a way to make my grandfather come here!' She had imagined a way to spark his interest, yet she knew it was ultimately futile.

As Victoria was about to rush to the rescue of more soldiers, she noticed a shadow creep from the corner of her eye.

"You!"

Before she realized it, she was standing before it. To her surprise, it was the assassin Lord, the very one whose lair they had spent a week observing.

"Ho?" Kenny, the mercenary Lord, was surprised that a Master noticed him.

A second later he grinned, realizing that he was before Victoria, the granddaughter of the Golden Vanguard's leader.

"What does the Golden Vanguard's fairy wish to discuss with me?"

Slowly a frown spread over Victoria's face. "Don't play games with me! I know that you went towards the heart of the swarm with the other Lords! Why did you run away? Tell me what you saw there!"

Kenny chuckled darkly.

"Nothing serious… Just a simple Monarch."

"..."

Understandably, Victoria froze on the spot when she heard his proclamation. Making use of that, the Lord disappeared out of sight.

'Monarch?' Victoria's lips trembled. She knew perfectly well how dangerous such a creature was. She had known there was a chance that an alien of this tier lurked at the heart of the swarm, yet the thought had seemed so unlikely that she had hardly given it any real consideration.

"If a Monarch really is here, then… Can I save them?" She mumbled, her eyes trailing towards the struggling soldiers.

A monster of such scale would force her grandfather to arrive to their aid whether he liked it or not.

Calling him held the danger of angering him… And yet in Victoria's eyes it was worth it. If she could prevent millions from dying, she would do it in a heartbeat… Even if it cost her her very life.

Taking a deep breath, she used her communication device to send a certain message.

Back at the swarm's heart, Michael appeared out of the Sacred flames.

Unlike the Lords, he had no means of protecting himself. The only thing keeping him conscious as his flesh, tendons, and bones burned was the sheer force of his will.

"What the hell is that?" One of the Lords muttered, doubting his eyes.

It was strange that a man had simply walked through the Sacred flames meant for the queen and still remained standing. Even more bizarre, the man was clearly only in the Early Master realm.

Not even a Grandmaster! Yet he stood unfazed before the gazes of so many powerful beings.

'Why does he feel familiar?' Caroline thought, unable to connect the scorching man to Michael.

"Is this supposed to be another of your plans?" The queen tilted her head to the side in amusement, yet she kept her eyes on the new arrival.

For some reason her instinct told her that he was the biggest threat.

'Made it…' Letting out a sigh of relief, Michael threw the Cursed Mirror to the ground.

With a flick of his finger, he summoned Devil's Tongue. Putting his left palm against the blade, he didn't hesitate to cut himself.

Slash!

"What are you doing? Who are you?" Azure's Lord asked, unable to contain his curiosity.

Acknowledging their existence for the first time, Michael raised his gaze and inspected everyone carefully, one by one. Even a blind man would be able to see that there was something irreversibly wrong in his cold eyes.

After a few tense seconds, Michael pursed his lips, his voice devoid of emotion.

"For far too long, you have tormented humanity. Whether by your greed, ignorance, or simply for amusement, you have caused too much suffering to our kind. I hereby sentence each and every one of you to death, with no possibility of parole."

Opening his palm, he let a few drops of his blood fall onto the Cursed Mirror. His body, engulfed in the Sacred flames, set the blood ablaze as well, leaving a trail of smoke in its wake.

"The execution shall be carried out immediately."

Regardless of their authority, whether Lord, Overlord, or even the Monarch queen herself, they all felt an ominous chill as the black mirror began to stir.

The next instant, their souls were drawn toward it, finding themselves trapped in a black, lifeless void.
