Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 182: Playtime's End

Taking into account that Michael was still on edge after personally examining his father's condition, the last thing he expected was for his sister to show him proudly how she had dressed Ava.

"You might wonder why change her clothing in the first place?" Scarlett said, placing two hands over her waist. "Well first, her clothes were drenched from the rain! And second, she said she wanted to help with the coffee shop, so we are experimenting with what clothing she should wear!"

Ava nodded thoughtfully. "I did promise that I won't be a burden!"

Hiding her two hands behind her back, she asked.

"So… What do you think?"

Somehow Michael's sister had done the impossible, changing the image of Ava from a Daredevil that faced aliens fearlessly to a charming waitress.

Wearing a maid dress, Ava's knee-length skirt revealed a glimpse of her lower legs, which were partially covered by long white socks tied with black ribbons. That in combination with her puffy sleeves and white apron woven with pink edges made her dangerously charming.

Not to mention that the black and white headband positioned masterfully on her head was quite literally a finisher that would make every man's heart race.

"It's… certainly cute." Michael couldn't deny the truth.

"Though I am not sure if such attire would be appropriate for our coffee shop." He added a second later.

Scarlett giggled. "I see! So you want to be the only one that sees her like this, right?"

Michael got the feeling that his sister was trying to play him. "Wait—"

Before he could utter another word, his sister went behind him, putting her hands on his back and leading him downstairs to the coffee shop.

"Well, we can change her clothing later. But now comes the most important part! How well she interacts with customers!"

Before Michael realized it, he was seated at one of the tables, with Scarlett across from him.

"Just like I taught you, alright?" Scarlett gazed at Ava with sparkling eyes.

"..."

Ava's face slowly began to grow red. 'I take back what I said! These two are completely the same! Even if Michael's sister doesn't seem like it, she too has a scheming nature hidden deep within!'

Though she was put in a somewhat awkward situation, Ava indeed wanted to make a good impression on Michael's sister. Not to mention that he was even quieter than usual, so at the very least he seemed to like it.

"H—Hello Master, Have you chosen what you wish to order?" She asked in a charming voice.

Tacitly Michael threw a glance at Scarlett as if asking if that was really necessary.

Acting like she didn't notice his gaze, Scarlett smiled widely before ordering.

"I see, I will prepare it immediately." Ava bowed, going to the kitchen.

"So… Just follow the recipe?" She glanced at Isabella doubtfully.

Michael's mother nodded. "Yep, this has been his favorite dish since he was a child. I am sure that he will like it."

With a sigh, Ava proceeded to follow the recipe, which thankfully didn't take long.

"Thank you for the wait." Ava said, placing two plates in front of the siblings.

As the pleasant smell drifted into his nostrils, Michael's eyes narrowed. He himself wasn't sure why he was reacting like this, but his very soul urged him to take a bite out of the prepared dish.

Grab!

Just as he prepared to dig in, Scarlett took a firm hold of his hand, stopping him in place.

"No, no, no!" She exclaimed, staring at Ava in expectation. "This wasn't what we agreed upon, right?"

Realizing that Ava might have bitten off more than she could chew, a cold shudder ran down her spine. However, since she had already made up her mind, she didn't hesitate to act.

"Excuse me." She bowed, settling herself next to Michael.

Taking a spoon, she scooped up a mouthful of the dish, gently blowing on it to cool down its temperature before setting her sights on Michael, who was staring at her in disbelief.

"N—Now Master, please say ahhh!" Ava urged Michael to accept the food.

'What is happening?' Michael wondered, glancing at Ava and Scarlett. Did his sister really have such a mischievous side to her? It had been so long that he genuinely wasn't certain.

"I can hear your thoughts!" Scarlett proclaimed. "Is there a point to this? It's not like other customers are going to be fed like this; well, worry not! This treatment is reserved solely for the VIP, and in this coffee shop's history, you are the sole person carrying such a title!"

With a sigh, Michael obliged and accepted Ava's food.

The dish proved significantly better than expected. That, coupled with the way Ava's face seemed to beam the moment he took a bite, made him think that this idea of his sister's wasn't so bad after all.

"Good job." Scarlett gave Ava a thumbs up. "Now make sure the customer eats the entire dish! He is not permitted to get up until he does so!"

Ava's face slowly turned rosy, realizing how long that was going to take. For a moment she thought that she might bother Michael, yet to her surprise, his eyes seemed to sparkle in a way she had never borne witness to before.

"Ahhh!" He said, opening his mouth wide.

Taken by surprise, Ava giggled before bringing another spoon to his mouth.

"I guess Master is hungry~"

Several minutes later. Michael's plate was emptied.

"I hope that was to your satisfaction, Master." Ava said getting somewhat used to her attire.

Just as she prepared to leave, Scarlett's words halted her in place.

"Where do you think you are going?" She asked, gently pushing her plate that she had yet to take a bite of towards Michael.

"There is still food on the table. We won't let it go to waste, right?"

"..."

It was safe to say that by the end Michael was stuffed.

"Don't you have to study?" Michael asked his sister, who didn't seem to break her gaze off him.

"I knew the material like the back of my hand, and with the weather being like this, I don't think we would get any customers even if we opened the shop." She shrugged. "This is much more entertaining."

Heaving a sigh, Michael glanced at Ava. "Sorry if my sister forced you to do this."

"N—No, it was kind of my idea anyway, and it turned out better than expected. So I don't mind repeating this in the future… If you don't mind that, of course!"

Strangely, Michael didn't find himself against the idea.

Just as he was about to head back to his old room, the door handle to the entrance turned, someone clearly wanting to enter.

"Didn't they see the closed sign at the door? I swear some people are idiots." Scarlett muttered angrily.

However, instead of giving up like any reasonable person would, the newcomer did something unexpected.

BOOM!

The door was instantly broken into pieces, a silhouette of a man slowly coming into view.

"That's pretty cold. How could my fiancée lock the door on me?"

Instantly Michael's eyes turned bloodshot as he rose to his feet.

As long as he lived, there was no way he would ever forget the owner of that voice.

It was Samuel!
