Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 67: A Wager

Once the squad was formed, they boarded a suitable vehicle and split off from the army. Claire used her mecha to fly over them, scanning the area for the nearest threats.

"I haven't known you for long, but it's enough to see that you have a deep hatred for the aliens." Bryce pointed out.

"Have you perhaps experienced misfortune in the past?" The old man found it strange how Michael, who was barely 18 years old, could harbor a hatred so intense, similar to a veteran who had lost his family in war.

"Every person has gone through unpleasant things in their past. I am not unique in that aspect. All I need to know is that our race is being threatened to hate the invaders." Michael replied calmly, refusing to elaborate further.

Since he was reminded of his family by Bryce's words, Michael called his sister to pass the time until they found a group of aliens.

Unsurprisingly, it took less than ten minutes for red dots to appear on the scanner's screen.

"I see a group of about 1,000 or so. Most of them are Higher tier aliens with some Elites mixed in." Claire transmitted.

"Finally, time for some action!" Enzo smiled, equipping his two gauntlets.

Ava took hold of her hammer, the rest of the faction also getting ready.

"What do you say we compete on who kills the most?" Michael proposed.

"If we compete, we need to have a reward for the winner." Bryce mumbled, stroking his beard in thought.

"I say the winner will receive a month's salary from the losers!" Enzo suggested.

"Make it two months!" Ava proposed, puffing her chest in pride. She was sure that she was going to rack up the most kills.

"I think you misunderstood me." However, before the wager could be made, Michael's words halted them.

"I meant that you all compete if you can kill more than me."

Since he was now of the Expert realm, he was pretty sure he could surpass all members of his faction.

"..."

The lively chatter immediately halted. Everybody looked at Michael, wondering if he was serious.

But on second thought, they knew how much of a monster he was, so it wasn't surprising to think that he could surpass them all.

'This will be a great learning experience for them too.' Michael proposed the idea, believing it would provide a valuable learning experience for them.

"Deal!" Ava immediately agreed. "However, when we win, you have to grant us a wish each!"

Her cheeks reddened, and she looked to the side before finishing. "Whatever we say, okay?! No take-backs!"

"Sure." Michael nodded with a warm smile. This was bound to serve as enough of a motivator.

"Because I am of the Master realm, I will have a clear advantage, so I will refrain from participating." Claire, who had listened to their conversation, said. She was looking forward to the show.

With the deal on, the squad exited out and got into position. Claire was going to serve as the judge since she was a third party.

"Get ready!"

Everyone held their breath, ready to join the fray.

"Go!"

[Berserker activated]

[Dash activated]

Using his techniques to the maximum, Michael reached an agility of over 10,000 points in an instant.

The cloud of dust he left behind was the only sign he was ever there. His figure moved so fast that, from an outside point of view, it appeared like he had used a teleportation technique.

Only Claire was able to follow his movements with her eyes. What she saw shocked her to the very core.

"Such speed! Is he really just an Early Expert?!" She voiced out loud.

The alien army had no idea what descended on them. Even the few Elites hadn't expected for a figure to ram into their ranks like a train and start tearing through them like butter.

'Now this is more like it!' Devil Tongue laughed, enjoying the slaughter.

"We are supposed to be of the same realm! How is this fair?!" Ava roared in fury. It took her several seconds to reach the enemy ranks. The moment she did, her hammer rained down like a guillotine, killing dozens with a single hit.

[Current slain forces: 2,513/20,000]

"Not even a minute in and already a hundred have fallen? It looks like this quest will be easier to complete than anticipated." Michael mused out loud.

Roar!

Sensing him as the biggest threat, the Elites immediately rushed at him, ready to encircle him.

However, they severely underestimated him, leading to their downfall.

Slash!

Less than two minutes later, all of them were lying dead. The Higher tier aliens, seeing their strongest forces being defeated so easily, began to feel dread, knowing these were their last moments.

"Come on, die faster! I need to have Michael owe me a wish!" Ava mumbled, intensifying her movements even more.

Leo, Enzo, Amelia, and even Bryce realized that they were going to lose to Michael at this rate. Not wanting for that to happen, they pushed themselves to their limits and began to break past it.

'Not bad. Let's see how long you can keep it up.' Michael was pleasantly surprised by the fire burning in his subordinates' hearts. With time, they would become even more formidable soldiers that he could rely on.

[Current slain forces: 2,750/20,000]

The smell of blood rose in the air as hundreds of aliens fell to the ground. An army that would have overwhelmed them before was now being squashed under the might of the Indomitable Alliance in mere minutes.

Fifteen minutes later, the last Higher alien fell.

"We did it!" Enzo pumped his fist in the air before collapsing due to exhaustion.

Only Ava remained standing on her feet, albeit heavily breathing. Her pink eyes were locked onto Michael, staring at him intensely.

'So she has great stamina. That's good to know. HAHAHA!' Devil Tongue remarked.

Ignoring the soul weapon's words, Michael gazed at the descending mecha.

"I have counted the number of kills each one of you has made." Claire announced a second later.

"The winner of the bet is…"
