Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 78: A Demonstration

"Someone didn't spare any expense when creating this place." Michael whistled, seeing the newly constructed arena.

"This is certainly bigger than expected." Ava admitted.

Once they entered, they saw that there were several thousand soldiers eagerly awaiting for the battles to start. Of course, this whole fiasco had been made possible with their help. The ones that wanted to see the fights live were ready to pay a great sum of money, even if it cost them their whole salary.

Having the chance to see Masters duel was a rare opportunity, and they hoped they could learn a thing or two.

Unsurprisingly, there were a lot of reporters ready to record the exchanges. With the recent alien invasion, the global interest in Triton's affairs had reached an all-time high. And where there was fame, there was money.

The members of Base #1 were stationed near the other single-digit bases.

"Nervous?" Michael asked the members of his faction.

"Hmph! Like I will struggle against other Experts." Ava proclaimed. Even if she was still an Early Expert, it was true that she was much stronger than the average.

"Just you watch, I will beat anyone that is paired against me!" Enzo declared.

Leo and Amelia didn't seem keen to speak, mentally preparing themselves for the fights.

"If I win, the reward will be going to you, cute junior," Victoria said, patting Ava on the head.

"Huh? What gives? I can take care of myself!"

"I know, but with the things that will soon unfold, I want you to be as prepared as possible." Victoria said, not willing to back down. Ava, not willing to refuse free power, didn't argue further.

Once everyone was gathered, the battles were ready to begin.

"So they are here." Victoria's eyes turned cold, seeing Oliver and Isaac from a distance.

'The two are not in my realm, but Chloe and Austin, the two that always seemed to follow Isaac, are Masters. This will be my chance to show them I am above them!'

Unsurprisingly, since everyone here had come to witness the duels between Masters, the spectacle was going to be saved for last.

"Before we start, we are going to demonstrate the way the arena works," one of the judges said before thrusting his blade into the heart of another.

The blade entered his heart effortlessly and ended his life. A second later, the dead man appeared next to the arena, alive and well.

"As long as you are below the Grandmaster realm, any injury you receive will be healed. If you are eliminated, you won't have the chance to participate again."

With the demonstration over, the fights began.

Due to the large number of Adepts, there were going to be 20 winners at the end, each getting a Common cybernetic. The 5 last-standing Experts were going to be awarded a Rare cybernetic, and the best Master was going to receive an Epic cybernetic!

"Just watch me!" Enzo puffed his chest with pride once his name was called out.

Leo and Amelia were called in shortly after.

Since no one was that interested when it came to the prowess of the Adepts, there were several matches happening at the same time to save time.

"Do you think that they will win?" Victoria asked Michael. It was hard to gauge his reaction since he was too focused on their fights, observing where they made blunders, ready to point them out later.

Hearing her question, he chuckled. "I don't think… I know."

One by one, the Adepts began to drop out, with the members of the Indomitable Alliance beating their competition with little struggle.

After two hours, their last rounds began. This time, their opponents proved to be more of a challenge, but in the end, Michael's brutal training proved to be more than effective.

"YES!" Enzo pumped his fist in the air the moment his foe hit the ground.

Despite his wounded state, he was more than happy.

He was awarded with a cybernetic that allowed him to harden his skin, becoming as durable as metal.

'Quite a fitting technique for him,' Michael nodded.

Amelia didn't struggle even until the very end. Her reward was a cybernetic that enhanced her electrical abilities.

Leo's, meanwhile, boosted his reflexes. Quite fitting considering that he had to act fast under pressure when he was driving and shooting with his miniguns.

"That marks the end of the Adept fights!"

The soldiers instantly began to cheer. Finally, they were about to witness the prowess of the more powerful fighters. The reporters reacted similarly, ready to record. Most hadn't bothered to record the Adept fights since they weren't that interesting.

Of course, Skylar and Luis were the exception. They were making sure to capture each feat of the Indomitable Alliance.

"For now, they haven't lost a single battle. I wonder if they can keep this up?" Skylar's eyes gleamed with the potential revenue they could gain if they managed to upload another viral video.

Unlike the Adept fights, the Experts were going to be having individual duels, giving each soldier present the chance to see every movement with great detail.

The second the first two challengers stepped into the arena, it exploded in cheers.

"Show me a great spectacle!"

"Does anyone want to bet?!"

Not wasting any time, the two Experts nodded at each other before starting their duel.

Each battle seemed to make the soldiers more and more excited. Even if their movements were too fast to follow with the naked eye, they felt themselves growing stronger just by observing.

It was only a matter of time before Michael stepped onto the stage.

'An Early Expert just like me? Quite the luck,' he mused, getting into a fighting stance.

His opponent, a woman with a fearsome presence, did as well.

"Begin!"

[Berserker activated]

[Dash activated]

BOOM!

Faster than most could react, Michael pounced forward like a missile, hitting the woman square in the liver. Thanks to his speed that rivaled a Master's, the woman was too slow to react. She wasn't even able to tense her core before feeling the impact.

She fell to the ground, unable to stand even after several seconds passed.

"..."

The excitement of the crowd instantly died down at Michael's overwhelming might.

Very few had managed to keep up with his speed. Even the Masters that hadn't been paying close attention missed the moment.

'So this is Michael… Whose family is being protected by sis.' A woman that blended with the surroundings observed.

Her presence remained outside of the Grandmasters' senses.

'It's hard for someone to pique my interest… Well done.' She mused.
