Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 83: Golden Gates

With a speed akin to teleportation, the woman traveled millions of kilometers to a particular location.

Her body materialized in front of massive golden gates. On guard stood two men clad in armor so fine that even the wealthiest aristocrats would have been left speechless with envy.

After all, each part of their equipment was at the very least of the Legendary Rank!

The two men finally noticed the new arrival. Without hesitation they dropped into battle stances, baring their weapons outright.

They released the full power of their cultivation in an attempt to stop the intruder. It was a worthy effort, since the two guards were of the Grandmaster realm!

If someone were to hear that people with such renowned strength were acting as simple guards, they surely would vomit blood.

"Identify yourself!" One of the guards shouted, a frown visible on his face.

'She doesn't seem fazed by our aura! Who is she, and what does she want with the King?!' The guard thought, alarmed.

"Ah…" It took the woman several seconds to realize that the reason for the guards' hostility was because of the hood. Since it had the power to conceal the presence of its wielder, the Grandmasters were surely confused.

With a giggle she slowly removed it, revealing her breathtaking face that would effortlessly render any man speechless.

"...!"

The guards' faces shifted from hostile to realization, then to horror.

"F—Forgive us, Lord Elina, please have mercy!"

"My left hand! I will gladly give you my non-dominant hand in exchange for my life!"

In a flash every trace of suspicion was vacated from the guards' faces, now laced with fear and respect.

"It's fine." Elina reassured. "It was partly my fault for hiding my features. You did a good job."

"We don't deserve your praise!" After they bowed so low that their foreheads hit the floors, they opened the gates without hesitation.

Wordlessly, Elina walked inside.

"Elina?" An old man's voice exclaimed in surprise. It was rare for him to see the woman due to her secrecy.

"King Arthur." Elina dropped to one knee in the presence of the King.

"What do I owe the pleasure?"

Not rising from her position, she spoke. "It has come to my attention that after the aliens' plan to conquer Triton failed, they plan to intensify their goal to conquer Neptune."

After a brief pause she added, "I know that we usually don't concern ourselves with such trivial matters, but I figured you would like to know."

The old man nodded somberly. "You did well, Elina."

Supporting his chin with one hand, a smile appeared on his face. "Now, mind telling me how you get across this information?"

"..."

Elina cursed inwardly; she wasn't supposed to go to Triton.

Not dumb enough to lie to the King, she didn't hide any details.

"So since Eliza, your sister, is protecting the family of an Expert, you decided to go and visit the man yourself?"

"Correct, I also witnessed Victoria's progress. She is progressing nicely." She admitted.

Usually a punishment was in order, but Arthur wasn't going to be that heartless for a worried sister.

'Just because the relationship with my siblings was a bloody one doesn't mean I don't understand your feelings.' He sighed.

After a brief consideration he flicked his fingers.

"You must be worried for your sister but are just too shy to say so, right?"

Elina's face instantly turned rosy, but before she could retort, a bright light assaulted her vision.

"Sis…" Elina tried to suppress a smile when she saw Eliza.

"You called for me, my King?" Ignoring her sister, Eliza directed her question to her superior.

"Your sister is obviously worried for you, and I judged that since enough time has passed, there is no need to protect that family anymore. I am certain that Victoria's worry was unfounded."

"..."

To the surprise of Arthur, Eliza remained silent, obviously something bothering her.

"Speak your mind."

"Actually a few days ago several agents tried to approach the family. After releasing a part of my aura, they quickly fled the scene."

'Who would bother with the family of an Expert? I must be missing something.' A frown appeared over the King's face.

"What realm were they?" He asked, theorizing that this was just a brawl between Experts.

"...They were all Grandmasters."

"..."

Silence filled the grand room; it was clear that Victoria's worry hadn't been for naught. But that posed the question, why would Grandmasters that were known for their reserved pride stoop so low as to spy on a family of a simple Expert?

"Monitor every member carefully; make sure that no harm comes to that family."

"As you command." Eliza bowed before turning into a light and disappearing.

"You didn't even say hello!" Elina gritted her teeth. Why was her sister not showing her even the smallest amount of respect?

"Elina."

Before she could get lost in her thoughts, the King's command came.

"It appears that trouble has risen, one that I didn't anticipate. I want you to monitor Expert Michael. Don't let him notice your present and report every detail to me."

Despite being puzzled by the strange request, Elina didn't object; the order from the King was absolute.

'He must be worried for his granddaughter.' She figured before dissolving into the shadows and disappearing from view.

Outside, the two guards had finally gotten their bearings. Even with their training, meeting a Lord would always be nerve-wracking.

"Thank God we didn't attack her. Can you imagine what our punishment would have been then?"

"You tell me! I am going to have nightmares the next time I go to sleep."

Just when they thought that they could relax, another figure appeared over the horizon. Since, unlike Elina, it didn't teleport straight to them, they were more relaxed.

"You are about to enter the headquarters of the Golden Vanguard!" They warned once the figure got close.

"What is your purpose for coming here? If you don't have a meeting scheduled, you will have to turn back."

With the reputation of the Golden Vanguard, there were countless brave individuals that would come in an attempt to join their ranks.

Wordlessly the figure showed them a familiar emblem.

"I am a representative of the Immortal Legion. I request a meeting with your King."
