Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 93: The Outer Circle

The being was of a stature similar to that of a human child. Two limbs for arms and legs, and skin that had turned blue, adapting to the coldness of the planet.

The most disturbing part was its face. Its features were eerily similar to a small defenseless girl. While the attempt to duplicate a face had been close to success, it had come a few steps short, giving off an uncanny valley effect.

The soldiers brave enough to come and watch the fight felt chills running down their spines. Even with the thick walls of the train separating them, they felt the terrifying aura of the General.

"This looks similar to the alien that I found disguised on Triton." Elina mused out loud. Since this fight was going to involve Victoria, she would spectate with great interest.

Of course, she didn't have any intent to help. Even if they were overwhelmed and Victoria were to meet her end here, then it would simply mean that she hadn't been worthy.

"We listen to your command!" The Masters spoke in sync, bearing out their weapons.

With a nod of appreciation, Alice's lips pursed.

"Engage!"

Instantly the Masters shot forward with speed unable to be recorded by the cameras.

Claire had gotten into her white mecha that she had loaded onto the train prior. Not wanting to risk going in too close, she switched to her ranged attacks.

At the same time, Victoria unleashed her trump card, going all out from the very start.

"Overload." She said, the aura around her getting several times stronger.

Naturally, she wasn't the only one. Each Master was well informed on how dangerous even the weakest General tier aliens were. No one could afford to hold back.

Among the powerful attacks, one seemed to shine leagues above the others. Alice's eyes turned red; before long, vines with roses spread from the ground. Wielding her thin reaper in hand, it seemed as if the planet's atmosphere itself bent under her rule.

"...?"

The General alien found their struggle amusing, opening its mouth wide. Long tentacles spread out faster than lightning, ready to turn anything they touched to ash.

The chills that the common soldiers were feeling instantly turned to horror.

They could imagine themselves wandering lost on the planet, only to encounter an alien disguised as a little girl. They would approach her with the intent to help, only to be killed faster than they could realize they had been fooled.

"This is how Grandmasters are able to fight?"

Yet their horror didn't last long. Captivated by Alice's beautiful yet deadly roses, they felt like humanity was much more dangerous than any alien that lived out there.

As expected, the fight was one-sided; the encounter didn't last longer than a few minutes. By the time Alice and the Masters next to her had finished, there wasn't even a bloodstain remaining from the General.

"Glory to Mankind!"

When their saviors returned to the train, the soldiers instantly saluted, their eyes sparkling with admiration.

Since the Masters had successfully managed to get rid of the General with minimal destruction and zero casualties, they felt proud of themselves.

However, the one that played the biggest role in the fight, Alice, had a frown on her face.

"A General this close to Azura?" She mumbled in dejection.

Unless they were planning to attack, the aliens wouldn't approach the biggest settlements on Neptune.

'There are only two possibilities. Either they are planning to assault the city soon… Or there is something that has scared off the General from its territory.' She heaved a sigh, foreseeing a lengthy report about the problem and the Lord's displeasure.

Of course, she kept her thoughts to herself. If a rumor spread about how there could be an alien stronger than a General on Neptune, even the most powerful Masters would have second thoughts about being stationed here.

With the threat of the General gone, the train began to move once again. As a consequence of the battle, no other aliens dared to approach them until they reached their destination.

"Good work to you all. With this you have become official forces of Azura. The Lord will be more than pleased." Alice praised, before going to bring the disturbing news to her superior.

"The air here really is the best." Michael mused, breathing in deeply.

Now that their first mission had been completed, he made the decision to explore the city. Even if Michael wanted to delay going to the outskirts before having the ability to help them, he still wanted to know what their overall situation was.

Passing through the center and inner region, he reached the outer area.

Unsurprisingly, the living conditions were far from satisfactory. If an alien invasion attacked, the first region to be assaulted would be the outer one. This led to the wealthy and influential people moving to the inner and central parts of the city, leaving the poorest people to fend for themselves.

"Why did you insist on coming here?" Ava asked. Since everyone was exhausted after their first mission, they all went to recover. The only one that didn't seem able to sit still was Michael.

Ava, not wanting to leave him alone, had decided to follow him to the outskirts.

"Even if you think it's pointless, I want to help them." He admitted. There had been times when he didn't know if there would be a meal the next day, so he sympathized with these people.

Before Ava could ask how he intended on helping, Michael went towards the nearest restaurant and began buying their food.

Then, without hesitation, he began approaching every malnourished person he saw and offered them food.

"T—Thank you so much!" A woman wearing braggy clothes said, bowing in appreciation. Her little child, unsure how to react, mirrored the gesture, showing its thankfulness.

This approach allowed Michael to simultaneously support the local businesses and help the most unfortunate.

He had set most of his salary to go automatically to his family, yet the remaining money was mostly useless to him. He wasn't materialistic, so he judged it was better to spend it on people that really needed it.

"The more I look at you, the more impressive you seem… almost like an angel." Ava exclaimed.

"It's nothing that impressive. And believe me, I am as far from being an angel as one could be." Michael replied with a warm smile that caused her to blush. Yet unaware of her body's reaction, she continued to stare at him in admiration.

Inspired, she joined him in his cause.

The two continued to give aid to the less fortunate. However, after a few hours passed, an arrogant voice halted them in place.

"Hey! What do you think you are doing in our turf?"
