I Have a Dice Left by a God

Chapter 98: Estella's Gift

In the inner hall of the Princess's palace, Estella had Chris perched on her shoulder and was holding Keli in her arms as she approached her treasure vault. The gifts from her father and mother on birthdays and festivals, as well as those presented by the nobility, were all stored there. The vault's door was crafted by master artisans, and there was even a barrier on it. The runes for opening the barrier were designed by Estella herself.

The Spirit Ointment formed a symbol in the air, the vault rotated, chains rattled, and a keyhole slowly appeared. Her vault was relatively simple. Estella opened it, and the door slowly opened. Inside were stacks of various boxes and many rare treasures, though they were a bit dusty, perhaps due to not being visited for a long time.

Chris flew off from Estella's shoulder to guard the entrance, while Estella carried Keli inside. The gifts she favored were placed outside, while those that appeared valuable but were impractical, as well as larger items, were stacked inside.

"Keli, what kind of gift do you think Mr. Gemini would like?" Estella asked. "Someone as knowledgeable and artistic as him probably wouldn't like something ordinary, right?"

Looking at the various golden products that, despite the dust, still shone brightly, Estella also felt they were too tacky. Why do people always like to give these kinds of things, along with jewels and egg-sized gems? What do they look like when worn?

"This sculpture is nice, very artistic. It seems it was brought over the Sea of Vastness from the Central Continent, truly precious." Estella commented, but Keli tilted its head and shook it in disapproval.

"True, Chris would certainly not want to give something so large."

All those precious items, and Estella struggled to pick something useful. Mr. Gemini's heart is so broad, picking such items would surely insult him?

He gifted her a self-made instrument, and creating new instruments is something she cannot do. What can she make with her own hands?

For a moment, Estella felt truly foolish, seemingly skilled at nothing.

Keli suddenly nudged Estella, meowing a few times, and its gaze directed outside, pointing in another direction with its little paw.

The direction led to the King's palace.

Estella cunningly smiled, patting Keli's little head, "You are indeed clever. Father is much wealthier than me!"

Only three people could enter King Ola's vault: the King, the Queen, and Estella. Estella only needed to register when entering and taking items, which wasn't a concern. After all, she had her ways, always rebellious against her father, never backing down.

Excitement outdoes hesitation; the freeloading team sets off!

With one person, one bird, and one cat, they made their way to King Ola's palace. The guards at the door all bowed, gazing at the elegant Princess with respect and admiration. Now, in Moncalleta, the most famous wasn't the first prince, nor the second prince who wreaked havoc upon his return, but the Princess, endowed with both beauty and wisdom, favored by the Earth Mother Goddess.

Before she could reach the back hall, she encountered King Ola and the visibly disappointed Grandmaster Vladimir. Upon seeing Estella, Vladimir's eyes immediately brightened, "Greetings, Princess."

King Ola sternly looked at Estella, "Estella, you're just in time. The Grand Scholar has questions for you."

"Not questions, but guidance," Vladimir said sternly.

Estella curtsied, "Grand Scholar, I truly don't know the answers to your questions. They were insights from a dream and not something I can readily explain."

Her mother had mentioned it to her, and she had decisively refused, for it was not knowledge she possessed.

"Your Highness, this matter is of great significance to the Kingdom and our Celestial Principle School, serving as a foundation for the future construction and development of the nation. Many future protocols and execution plans can reference these theories. It's no exaggeration to say it can enhance the national destiny," Vladimir stated.

Not only Estella, but King Ola also frowned, "Grand Scholar, that sounds a bit exaggerated."

"Your Majesty, I am not exaggerating nor flattering. Perhaps, in the short term, there won't be any immediate effects, but over time and development, this theory will exhibit continuous power, much like the foundation of a building," Vladimir explained. "Therefore, I'm shamelessly hoping Your Highness will give it a try."

Understanding Vladimir's earnestness, Ola knew his mentor's temperament well, unchanged from when he was a prince to now as a king; truth was the only thing that could make him yield.

"Estella, as the Grand Scholar said, this is a matter that benefits the country and the people. If you dream of such divine favor again, make sure to take note," Ola said.

To be honest, he was skeptical that this was something Estella could summarize, but he still believed in divine favor.

"Father, Grand Scholar, I cannot promise, for indeed it requires fate. Should the opportunity arise, I would certainly strive for the Kingdom's development," Estella respectfully replied.

"Thank you, Princess." Vladimir respectfully bowed. Regardless of whether the Princess was modest or under divine favor, truth remains truth.

Watching Vladimir leave, Ola pondered for a moment. The old man had specifically come to find him. The Celestial Principle School indeed contributed significantly to the nation, offering extremely important support to maintaining the Kingdom's rule.

"Why did you come?" Ola asked, looking at Estella.

"I miss Father, so I came to visit."

Ola nodded, not exposing her little scheme, "Pay attention to the Grand Scholar's matter; you know his temperament." The King had many other matters to attend to and did not linger.

"Okay, Father," Estella obediently said, and then with Chris and Keli in tow, excitedly headed to the vault.

Her father's vault was far more spectacular than hers, with several layers. She could only select from the first layer, the others were only accessible by the King.

The security here was very tight, leading underground, with bright lights all around, yet a somewhat cold feeling permeated. Fortunately, Keli was warm in her arms, and Chris continued to hold its head high with pride.

In the past, visiting here for adventure was a pleasure to satisfy Estella's curiosity; the treasures themselves weren't as significant. But this time was different; when seriously picking something, she found that her father's items were even more tacky than hers.

A golden throne, larger jewels, various crowns adorned with rainbow-colored stones, golden swords, and even a miniature Golden Palace. How could things be so gaudy? Of course, the craftsmanship was exquisite, with floral patterns and meticulous detail, but none met Estella's requirements.

Then, there were various precious materials, some for crafting Magic Potions, there was even Keel. As the oldest and most affluent kingdom of the Eastern Continent, rare treasures were indeed abundant.

"Not possible, feeling there is no sincerity at all. Would giving these make Mr. Gemini think I'm a flamboyant person?" Estella mused to herself, "I should give something meaningful."

Why not make one myself?

Mr. Gemini hand-made a flute for her, so she should also make something herself, like a small harp?

Right, why not make a Harvest Small Harp, a highly representative instrument of Moncalleta and part of the national culture. Crucially, she knew how to make it!

Thinking this, Estella immediately left the vault with her companions. Her father's place was even more tacky than hers.

Meanwhile, in the Princess's quarters, Achilles seemed casually chatting with the maids, but was actually observing and understanding each of them.

No issues arose; those around the Princess had undergone rigorous selection with clean backgrounds. There was no sense of hidden power presence. Trying to hide from his deliberate investigation was challenging. With the Royal Palace protected by Divine Power, such possibility did not exist, perhaps he was just being overly cautious.
