I Have a Dice Left by a God

Chapter 11: Dear Simmons (Part 2)

The eagle is the emblem of the Saint George Clan, everyone is accustomed to using such a heading to show respect for the noble family with a long history. Simmons smiled, "Oh, which school of painting are you from?"

"Young Master Simmons, I am from the Franciscus Realism School, realism is our soul," Dalivin respectfully and sincerely said.

Thinking of the exaggerated realism of the poster hanging at the door, Simmons couldn't help but laugh, the integrity of artists is indeed this real, "Alright, let me see your realism."

Dalivin gracefully bowed, took out a brand new drawing board, "Young Master Simmons, you may pose as you wish. Every angle is actually quite good, but I will try my best to find the most perfect side."

Lancer couldn't help but laugh; no wonder the business is so good, the people here are smart and can lighten the captain's mood a little.

Dragon Mother also beamed with joy, "Dear guests, I had the kitchen carefully prepare a meal, and during the wait, there's a little program. This is Mr. Kan the Magician, who has traveled across the Dao Yuan Continent to many places and recently arrived in our Hedan."

The guests nearby suppressed their laughter, how "recently" is that?

Simmons and Lancer truly got a bit interested, Lancer smiled, "You do have some tricks here, so I want to see something new. Don't try to fool us; I've seen quite a bit of magic."

"Rest assured, if his performance is not good, I'll raise his rent!" Dragon Mother said fiercely, and indeed, Simmons and Lancer, accustomed to highbrow art, found the occasional down-to-earth performance quite refreshing.

Once in their professional domains, the aura of Dalivin and Kan immediately changed; Dalivin began painting on the side, with focused expression; looking from the side, he really had a bit of an artist's air.

As for Kan, he put on his gloves, took off his hat, and gracefully bowed. With a search inside the hat, a white dove appeared. After releasing the dove, Kan showed the empty hat, then put it back on his head. But soon, the hat moved again, and a black dove curiously poked its head out. Kan looked genuinely surprised, and released the black dove as well, repeatedly checking his hat until he was sure it was empty, just as he was about to wear it, suddenly with a flip of hand, a cute Charming Ear Rabbit crawled out from the hat, timidly looking around, instantly earning applause from the whole room.

Simmons and Lancer also found it interesting; indeed, it was all about creating a lively atmosphere.

Seeing the rabbit panicking, Kan hurriedly hid it back into the hat, and then the rabbit disappeared, allowing him to sigh with relief and put on the hat again. He then took out a deck of cards and began to perform an impressive display of card tricks, drawing rounds of cheers from the crowd.

Simmons smiled, "The sleight of hand is fast, really impressive."

"Practice makes perfect, it seems true to form. Our Canon Law School's gala can indeed accommodate this."

"Don't keep thinking about fun; now's not the time."

"Boss, you need to strive when it's time to strive and enjoy when it's time to enjoy, that's life," Lancer laughed, since returning from the Celestial Capital, Simmons has seemed a bit off, though it could also be due to other matters.

Simmons said nothing, watching the magician's performance, unable to perform it himself; even though much time had passed since the events in the Celestial Capital, what troubled him was something else, as a captain, Simmons can't shirk responsibility.

Soon Old Fang and others served the dishes, and despite Old Fang's limp, he skillfully carried the plates; naturally, Dragon Mother personally served them to Young Master Simmons, who was treated like an eagle, using specially prepared utensils.

Neither Simmons nor Lancer were ones for pretense; seeing the appearance and smell of the dish, it really was intriguing. Upon tasting it with a spoon, Simmons and Lancer exchanged glances, this spicy chicken was indeed flavorful, unlike ordinary spice, quite complex, "What kind of chicken is this?"

"To be honest, Young Master, it's my secret, but if you're asking, no problem, it's just the common Hu chicken," Dragon Mother whispered.

Simmons and Lancer were taken aback; of course, they would never eat such a thing, since it is tasteless, with a bad texture, hardly edible, but how could it be made into this flavor?

The two tried a few more bites, finding it very appetizing, really exceptionally delicious, and tender and smooth in texture—how was this achieved?

Looking at another seemingly ordinary stir-fry dish with odd meat scraps, it too was outrageously fragrant. Simmons and Lancer tasted it, finding it genuinely aromatic, with good texture.

Soon Simmons and Lancer finished everything; despite having tasted all kinds of delicacies, this was truly distinctive, possessing the quality of transforming the mundane into something magical, "Call your chef out here."

Lancer laughed, "Let's see where he hails from, having such creativity and skill."

Simmons also nodded, "If convenient, please have him come out for a chat."

This meal put him in a good mood; as a noble, in terms of material possessions, there wouldn't be too much sensation, but emotionally, he felt satisfied, curious.

"Young Master, you're too kind, hold on, it's his honor eight generations coming!" Dragon Mother knew she was about to climb the social ladder; once she framed and hung Young Master Simmons's portrait like an eagle, she wouldn't believe the Red-White Society would still dare to make trouble, so she must cater well.

Dragon Mother hurried into the kitchen, "Ah Xin, Ah Xin, come quickly, the honored guest wants to see you. Let me tell you, this is a real dignitary, Young Master Simmons like an eagle, in Saint George he's the boss. Be respectful and polite, if something goes wrong, I'll perish with you!"

Li Xin froze for a moment, "Simmons?"

Dragon Mother startled, smacked Li Xin on the forehead, "What's wrong with you, what's wrong, can you call him like that, say Young Master Simmons like an eagle, come, say it, Young Master Simmons like an eagle, say it with feeling, he's a noble, a word from him and we have nowhere to go, you must have some sense, speak less if you can't talk, only answer what's asked!"

Li Xin nodded, could it really be such a coincidence?

Simmons and Lancer were chatting over tea; although the Canon Law School's conditions were good, there was still a difference from the Royal Knight Academy, after all, the Church emphasizes enjoying with the populace. Simmons and Lancer didn't show much aristocratic pride, nor did they mind the surrounding gaze, of course, most people were very conscious, not wanting to upset Simmons.

"Young Master, he's here, Li Xin, greet them!" Dragon Mother pushed Li Xin with a smiling face.

Li Xin recognized them, looking at Simmons with a knowing smile, "Young Master Simmons like an eagle, hello, we meet again."

Simmons's spoon paused in mid-air, staring at this face both unfamiliar and familiar, at that moment, Simmons's mind buzzed, who am I, where am I?
