I Have a Dice Left by a God

Chapter 25: Leo Batty

As Li Xin got closer and closer to the eagle-like Master Simmons, they had been frequently in contact. This morning, Master Simmons personally came to pick him up, and in the evening personally brought him back. Naturally, Ah Xin was upgraded to Master Xin.

"Dragon Mother, Mr. Kan, everyone, please don't call me that. Just call me Ah Xin," Li Xin couldn't stand this charged form of address.

"See what I told you? Quick, quick, 10 beans!" Dalivin excitedly stretched out his hand and spoke, and another hand stretching out was Ma Liu.

David, Kan, Old Fang, and Dragon Mother all grudgingly handed over the beans.

"Li... Brother Li, Li is... a good... person!" Ma Liu excitedly fondled the beans and said.

The Lira currency wasn't created by any specific country. Tracing back to the Fifth Epoch, at that time the supreme leader of Dao Yuan Eastern Continent was the Pope, under whom were the Church Court and the King. The Lira was issued by the supreme Holy See, while the smallest units were issued by individual countries. When entering the Sixth Epoch, the Lira continued to be used, ensuring trade among countries—though only the Liras of the four major countries had general value.

"The Canon Law School is a good place! I heard there are many pretty girls there. Congratulations, Ah Xin, let's toast for the first student from Canon Law School at Lirong Inn!" David said boldly. Today, he hadn't shaved, and the slight stubble made him look even more attractive, drawing envious glances from Dragon Mother.

Dragon Mother was just about to ask everyone to restrain themselves when she suddenly changed her demeanor, "Let's drink until we're drunk!"

Since everyone was drinking her wine, seeing Dragon Mother's generosity, everyone immediately relaxed, eating and drinking heartily. Moncalleta drank distilled spirits, around forty degrees, slightly sweet, but still palatable—though it went to one's head quickly, especially since Dragon Mother mixed it with water.

Since Li Xin had things to do the next day, he left first, and Dragon Mother and the others didn't keep him. As for whether David and the others could still walk, Li Xin didn't know. Seeing Dragon Mother like this, unless she bagged one, she likely wouldn't let it go.

As soon as he walked out the door, Li Xin quickened his pace. The more he drank, the more apprehensive he got—the Dragon Mother's gaze was too aggressive. Such a strong woman shouldn't drink; it could lead to chaos.

Back at his own room, Li Xin finally breathed a sigh of relief, gently holding his small harp. Since realizing its value, he always carried it with him when going out; if he lost it, he can't afford to lose this treasure.

Plucking the strings, he abandoned the shameful thought of selling it; he wasn't that poor yet.

Damn!

Dammit, I forgot to ask Simmons for the money for breakfast, crap!

Feeling instantly angry, Li Xin found it a little hard to sleep.

Whoosh... whoosh...

The dice started shaking, summoning from the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc...

Inside the Withered Wood Monastery, filled with classical aura, the simplicity exuded a strong pressure. Perhaps due to its location on the mountaintop, the surroundings were lightly shrouded in mist. Estella, already settled in, changed into coarse linen apparel; the room was simple, with a luxurious bed replaced by a hard plank bed. Yet Estella slept sweetly. Whenever she came to the Monastery, her heart felt extraordinarily peaceful. Keli nestled in Estella's arms, its long hair being the only soft thing there. Chris stood on the rooftop's pinnacle, her sharp gaze surveying the surroundings. Then the bountiful magic ring began to shake...

In a Dragon Capital estate, atop a luxurious bed, the cold and stern Christian promptly drifted into dreamland. The red diary placed beside him suddenly began to shake...

In the Royal City of the Black Meteor Empire, in an inn within the great city of Minas Tirith, the hero's capital, Cantona, cleverly disguised, had stealthily infiltrated the empire for quite some time. However, things weren't progressing smoothly. His body slightly stirred in his sleep, as a long saber within him emitted an eerie fire, beginning to shake.

On the distant Mist Continent, atop the 108 Lighthouse, Batty, having just endured the fever brought by the divine relic, felt a release of comfort. Amidst a daze, the black saber started shaking, and Batty instinctively responded, and in the next instant, his soul was drawn into it...

The Twelve Zodiac Star Disc.

In the familiar celestial starry dome, along the solemn and ancient chair backs, one figure after another began to appear—the gentle Miss Aries, mature Mr. Taurus, optimistic Mr. Gemini, and the proud Mr. Cancer. The four exchanged smiles, their gazes uniformly drawn to another chair.

On the Leo chair appeared a person. From the hazy image, the person's skin seemed rather dark, displaying keen vigilance toward his surroundings.

The new member of the Round Table Conference had arrived.

Batty's entire body tightened, cautiously observing everything around him. The incredible brightness gave him a great shock.

Where is this place?

There was no sense of threat, nor any fallen aura. Judging from the glorious appearance, it was not the Abyss. Although the four figures were indistinct, they felt human.

"Mr. Leo, hello, welcome to the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc. You are the fifth member to arrive here." Miss Aries's voice sounded.

Upon hearing Miss Aries's voice, Batty inexplicably felt a touch of ease. Though he couldn't understand her words, the emotion contained in her voice was akin to when he encountered the guardian deities. The voice exuded a sense of nobility, which Roto was particularly sensitive to. Still, Batty didn't relax his vigilance.

"What is this place?" Batty asked, his voice slightly juvenile and cautious, clearly not fooling anyone. However, Cantona could see from his battle-ready posture that Batty had rich combat experience, ready to spring into attack at any moment if a fight broke out.

The crucial point was that Leo spoke in Hera language.

"This is Miss Aries. I'm Taurus. We were also summoned here by the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc. We call one another by our corresponding zodiac names. We suspect that the divine relics within each of us are connected to the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc, thus summoning us here. We all come from various regions of Dao Yuan Continent," Cantona said, also in Hera language.

Hearing a familiar language, Batty relaxed a bit and looked at everyone, "What is Dao Yuan Continent?"

This time, it was the others who were puzzled. Li Xin, observing Batty, also spoke in Hera language, "The world we are in is the Dao Yuan Continent. Where are you?"

"Mist Continent," Batty replied, "Divpo City."

The group exchanged glances. Though Miss Aries and Cantona were quite knowledgeable, there was no mention of such a place in their records.

"Ahem, everyone, we must be efficient. Let's first introduce some basics to Leo, and then proceed with the routine protocol," Christian interrupted their aimless chatter, fearing it might turn into a tea party.

Cantona smiled, "Mr. Leo, let me first introduce the basic situation and some patterns related to the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc that we discovered."

Cantona succinctly explained the order in which the four entered, the use of the Star Disc, precautions, and various representative meanings, and specially introduced the situation of Dao Yuan Continent to Batty. Batty listened attentively, and it made his head buzz; he wondered whether he was dreaming.

Outside Divpo City, could there really be the Paradise spoken of by the Triad Gods—a vast world filled with sunshine, water, various creatures, and abundance—unlike their eerie, terrifying Mist Continent? There are gods outside too, different kinds of gods, more than one, who don't need redemption; people live and work peacefully...

Different gods?

Roto's Commandments once mentioned that the Abyss uses various means to lead people into depravity, and whispered torment is just one of them. More terrifying is the temptation. Batty's face changed, giving himself a slap. In the lighthouse, Batty struggled madly, his willpower incredibly strong. Amidst his struggle, Batty's figure at the Round Table Conference vanished, and Leo on the starry dome dimmed down.

Batty forcibly left the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc.
