I Have a Dice Left by a God

Chapter 32: Everything Is the Best Arrangement

Amidst the continued lightning, one thunderball after another appeared out of nowhere, floating in the air. Whenever a thunderball got close to another object, it would tremble and vibrate before being drawn nearer.

Li Xin furrowed his brow slightly and took a deep breath. With a boom, his figure suddenly vanished, rushing forward like a fleeting light. The thunderballs were left behind but continued to chase after him, forming a sky-bound trap along with the incoming thunderballs and lightning from all directions.

Li Xin suddenly halted movement with no forewarning, darting towards the mist on one side. He skimmed along the arc of the mist, sliding past a blind spot. Thunderballs collided, causing lightning to scatter in the sky, while Li Xin continued to charge forward. Lightning pursued from behind and now a substantial amount of Thunder Power had amassed on the stone bridge. In Simmons' eyes, it seemed like a lightning hell, yet this level of lightning laws still couldn't affect Li Xin's mobility.

Boom...

A thick lightning beam crashed down, forcibly halting Li Xin's forward path. Lightning exploded in a radiant display, indiscriminately blasting towards Li Xin.

At this moment, Li Xin clasped his fingers tightly, extending his index fingers into connection, using the Immovable Ming King Seal to eliminate all negative effects, "Lin!"

Zing...

Li Xin shot forward close to the ground, his figure like a long snake, kicking up stones in a spray. He resisted parts of the lightning's interference, though not the highest damage, merely the weakest points of lightning scattering.

Like low-altitude flight, Li Xin ascended in an arc, crossing the stone bridge, before encountering another stone archway.

Turning around, the stone bridge had already returned to calm.

At the other end of the bridge, Simmons opened his mouth, feeling dry-throated.

He couldn't get across. Since Simmons couldn't pass, the far side of the stone archway was entirely shrouded in mist, thus preventing Li Xin from advancing.

Gazing at the mist ahead, Li Xin reached out and gently touched it, swiftly withdrawing. The dice spun, seamlessly conducting a forecast.

One dot.

Very well, it seemed truly lethal, yet this time he could clearly sense that the dice wouldn't cause any adverse effects. The dice retained fullness after use, and he realized it could be immediately used again—this should be the power brought by the awakening of the First Life Star.

The First Life Star's ability is to roll the dice again.

Judging complex events often requires multiple attempts; at times, situational changes can affect judgments. Without the First Life Star's ability, by the time the dice can be used again, the connection to the event would have faded, likely rendering the judgment invalid.

Li Xin tossed the dice once more. The dice rolled, yet predictably landed on one dot again, serving as supplemental proof.

Li Xin smirked, challenging with a bit more bravado.

Having used it twice, the dice lost its vitality and was no longer responsive. Li Xin also felt a notable decrease in the dice's fullness, with the second use consuming more than the first.

Regardless, the Holy Land is a good place, and Simmons is a good person.

"Brother Li, Brother Li, are we heading back?" Simmons shouted from the other end of the bridge, waving his arms.

Li Xin knew he couldn't advance further. Suddenly, he started walking back, startling Simmons, but the stone bridge now lacked thunder, instead presenting a peaceful path, as the clouds had scattered, leaving only the surrounding mist.

Watching Li Xin return, Simmons' mind was still a bit numb. Then he attempted a step forward, paranoid due to potential changes, as Simmons was thorough in his actions. Sure enough, as he stepped forward, an anomaly occurred, whereas Li Xin's passage had nothing to do with him.

Li Xin speculated on the differences between Divine Relic, Original Embryo, and purely using Spiritual Ability to enter the Holy Land. With a Divine Relic, the Holy Land is closely related to it, each host following the same path and gaining similar powers—the stronger the Divine Relic, the more difficult the journey to the Holy Land. Thus, matching an overly powerful Divine Relic might not be beneficial.

If it were an Original Embryo, one would tread an uncertain path which, upon completion and certain triggers, could transform into a Divine Relic, fixing this path henceforth. For the difficulty, or how to proceed, there's currently insufficient data for reference, but surely some paths are simpler, ironically providing easier access to power.

Purely relying on Spiritual Ability? There's something off about it.

Li Xin shared his doubts with Simmons, who shook his head, "This I do know; if entering purely through Spiritual Ability, the locations that appear are unpredictable, with danger and reward completely unbalanced, sometimes encountering peculiar creatures, so without Divine Relics or Original Embryos, it's best not to delve into the Holy Land."

Even with immense luck, a surge in power and depth would eventually lead to problems; otherwise, secret organizations and families wouldn't fight tooth and nail over Divine Relics.

Despite failing to gain Thunder Power, Simmons' capabilities were present, but at his level, he fell behind, no wonder he found Simmons lacking a Secret Castle member's spirit, especially since even Luo Xue displayed more vigor.

Simmons looked at the stone bridge ahead, feeling slightly despondent; returning from the Secret Castle, he had high expectations for himself, but a heavy blow upon the opening of the First Life Star disillusioned him. Though he later successfully acquired Flash ability with the opening of the Second Life Star, the powers gained from the First Life Star limited his potential—making navigation through the Holy Land arduous, losing pace amidst noble peers.

Li Xin pondered for a moment, "Your Divine Relic is closely connected with Thunder Power, so logically, your first awakening should have a high chance of gaining Thunder Power, right?"

Simmons gave an awkward smile, "I thought so too, and my family is quite disappointed in me."

Because he didn't gain Thunder Power, the exploration at the Holy Land became increasingly difficult for Simmons. If he had possessed Thunder Power, his resistance would at least be much stronger.

"Brother Li, I'm embarrassed, you've actually been delayed at Saint Grace. If…" Simmons felt like a failure, not worthy to fight alongside experts of such caliber.

"If everything is destined because of the Divine Relic, then what should be will eventually come. If not, then there is still a chance for change," Li Xin replied with a smile, "There's a saying from my hometown, everything is arranged for the best. Don't forget the bond between us."

The Gate of Truth opened beneath Li Xin and Simmons, and after about seven or eight seconds of charging, accompanied by a flash of light, Li Xin and Simmons returned to their room at the Saint Grace Canon Law School.

Li Xin glanced at the clock in the room and estimated the time, concluding that the Holy Land and reality were roughly synchronized.

This trip to the Holy Land had been quite fruitful for everyone. Li Xin finally reached this familiar place, with some details to carefully think over upon returning. Simmons too had changed, and as for Celestia, her look at Li Xin contained a bit of eagerness—pure curiosity, nothing else.

Li Xin took off his armor and tucked it away, noticing Celestia's gaze, "I'll take it back to clean." Then he wiped his Long Saber.

Before entering the Holy Land, Celestia would have certainly teased him about when he would return it, but now she was full of questions, "Why not use it?"

Li Xin looked at the sword in his hand, then placed it back in his sack, "They don't deserve it."

Seeing Simmons smile, Li Xin added, "Simmons, I need to report at the Hex Bird Report on Monday morning, so I'll take a leave first."

"Brother Li, you're free at Saint Grace." Simmons replied.

Once Li Xin left, Celestia also relaxed, "Simmons, what exactly does this Li Xin do, being so formidable? Is he a member of the Secret Castle?"

Simmons stood up and stretched, still pondering Li Xin's words, "Everything is arranged for the best." Yes, if the Divine Relic is destined, then he should gain it. If not, anything is possible. Damn it, he'd been troubled by this for so long. Every setback was for a stronger rebound!

Li Xin's trip was like uncovering the secret of the stone bridge. When he's alone, he cannot be this powerful an obstacle; he can definitely get through it!

"Don't ask any more, I promised not to say." Simmons said.

Celestia understood. This was interesting, and clearly, this trip to the Holy Land seemed to have brought Simmons's confidence back, finally resembling his demeanor from six years ago.

This Li Xin has something.

"Did you see how Li Xin survived the explosion from that meat mountain creature?" Celestia asked.

Simmons saw clearly. At that moment, Li Xin simply tore it open. What a tremendous power, and later surrounded by Thunder Power. Is this the power measured by the Secret Castle Master?

Quite astonishing, but this time Simmons was full of fighting spirit.

"Celestia, maybe our Saint Grace Canon Law School can truly create miracles." Simmons said.

At the entrance to the Canon Law School, Li Xin finally got a hold of a carriage. Actually, several had passed, but they weren't convertibles. He was waiting for a convertible; otherwise, he was planning to walk back.

The carriage clattered along; the horse seemed a bit tired. Li Xin leaned against the carriage's backrest. The gains from this trip to the Holy Land were numerous. He wanted to go back and try to enter again. If he still couldn't, why was the Holy Land blocking him?

Was it his problem? Or the dice's problem?

There was also a detail Simmons didn't notice: when that meat mountain perished, he noted the painful human faces and saw a very humanized release, eventually turning into white smoke and merging into the mist.

Could it be that all the mist was formed like this?

And another question, Leo said he came from the Mist Continent—did the Mist Continent have a connection with the Holy Land?

Li Xin patted his head, dammit, mind full of hungry and full thoughts. Today's yield was an armor set.

Perfect!
