I Have a Dice Left by a God

Chapter 132: Divine Might

Batty's figure vanished from the Round Table Conference, leaving behind Li Xin, who was remorseful for his earlier impulsiveness. Tomorrow, he was supposed to have a date with Christie, followed by a delightful evening, so what was all this fuss about?

Oh well, better to think positively. It wasn't all for Leo; after all, gaining an in-depth understanding of the Divine Artifact is a rare opportunity. This artifact must be closely related to himself; perhaps the one who knows it best can wield it.

Li Xin directed his attention once again to the Leo on the dome. By invoking Leo this way, he could awaken Leo's Divine Relic, but now it wasn't just an invocation; he had entered that mystical passage himself, not to return to his world, but to venture into Leo's realm.

Li Xin's mental energy lingered over the dome. Though he hadn't acted yet, he had considered various possibilities, only now bringing them out. His understanding of the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc differed from others, not only possessing Dao Yuan's way of thinking but also aided by some memories of past lives. His Divine Relic was a coordinate, the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc was a soul transit station. Theoretically, with another coordinate, he could cross over. Yet, he had doubts about the state he'd exist in since he would have no physical form.

While Li Xin was experimenting, Batty had already returned to the lighthouse. He carefully cleaned the lighthouse, filled the lamp oil, and quietly sat there, a wooden fish of his own making placed neatly in front of him, waiting patiently for Mr. Gemini's arrival.

He wasn't sure if the sleep talk would come at this time, but he was prepared. Throughout the long history of Divpo City, Roto had always been at society's lowest level. In the boundless darkness and almost bleak hope, a legend was born. Though it was quickly banned, it was still passed by word of mouth among some of the Roto, bringing a sliver of light to their darkness.

Batty focused intently on the wooden fish until the Divine Relic began to tremble, the Death and Life, Great Compassion and Great Mercy Heavenly Mother Blade swayed. But this time he didn't enter the Star Disc through the Mother Blade. He knew it was the gentleman calling; it was a sign of impending arrival into this world. He felt something approaching. Normally, one would instinctively resist, but Batty did not. He opened his soul, welcoming the gentleman's arrival with reverence.

No defenses, unafraid of life and death.

Accompanied by a sensation of being siphoned and then spat back out, Li Xin finally arrived at the Mist Continent. He remained still, for he first needed to stabilize his soul form. Looking around, he saw Mr. Leo. His first reaction was... What the heck? So tall and mighty? This was completely unlike the impression he had.

Leo appeared to be over two meters tall, with dark skin and a body sculpted with smooth, robust muscle lines. His bald head exuded explosive strength, yet his face was very delicate, with a determined and steady gaze, adorned with many scars. He sat upright on the ground, an exquisitely crafted wooden fish before him. Such precise craftsmanship!

Li Xin realized he was in a soul state, able to move within a certain range but unable to drift too far from Leo's Divine Relic, as his soul was stabilized by the Divine Relic.

The Death and Life, Great Compassion and Great Mercy Heavenly Mother Blade, that's the Divine Relic's name, perhaps this is fate.

"Mr. Leo," Li Xin said.

When Mr. Gemini's voice reached Batty's ears, he knew the gentleman had arrived, yes, the gentleman had descended.

"Sir, you're here, you can just call me Batty," Batty said respectfully. He sensed a powerful and warm strength, though it existed in a mystically hidden state, he could still feel its deep and immeasurable power.

"I don't have much time, try knocking it again," Li Xin said. The Star Disc had a time limit, meaning he couldn't stay for long, and he was currently in an unprotected state. What's important is, in the Star Disc, he had some sensation of his surroundings, but after arriving here, he completely lost it.

"Yes, sir." Batty bent down, picked up the small mallet, and prepared to strike.

"Sit cross-legged and use the gesture I taught you," Li Xin said, although uncertain if the ritual would be effective, the ritual could help enhance concentration.

Batty responded immediately, sitting cross-legged, with his left hand upright and steady, and his right hand picking up the small mallet before striking the wooden fish.

Dong~~~

Like the morning and evening bell cleansing the soul, the sound of the wooden fish resonated, shaking the entire lighthouse, sending dust flying. Batty's body felt a sense of relief, as if heavy shackles binding him were suddenly undone, his pitch-black eyes bursting with intense light.

Dong dong dong dong dong...

The wooden fish beat rhythmically, the light atop the lighthouse began to flicker, and with the strikes of the wooden fish, the fog surrounding the lighthouse surprisingly receded. Batty watched in disbelief as everything unfolded before him. Even the fog that the lighthouse light dispelled for more than a meter was directly shaken apart by the wooden fish's sound, spreading over ten meters before regrouping.

"Stop, I'll return to the Star Disc, then you try again, and later find me in the Star Disc," Li Xin said. Since it worked and a method was found, he could proceed slowly in the future, his soul state was still not very safe.

Li Xin's figure vanished, his body returning to the massive chair. As he sat down, he settled his emotions slightly. Heavens, Batty nearly transcended him while knocking the wooden fish. Every strike drained his strength like a blood pump, it was unbearable.

He sat in the chair for a good while until the discomfort in his soul gradually dissipated.

The journey to Leo's place was not pleasant, the soul was compressed in various ways, feeling very different from traveling to the Star Disc. One thing was certain, it required complete trust like Leo's. He could feel Leo was entirely open; if Leo were to close off or become hostile, it would be very dangerous for Li Xin in his soul state.

Though his time on the Mist Continent was short, Li Xin sensed the harshness there. In comparison, the Underground City was a paradise, with at least vibrant human activity. What kind of ghostly place was that, so similar to the Holy Land, only differing in the fog's intensity?

This was Li Xin's initial impression.

Following Li Xin's instructions, Batty stopped knocking. After Mr. Gemini left, the wooden fish instantly lost its astounding effect, and the fog gradually gathered again. Batty continued knocking, but the fog remained unaffected, and the peculiar phenomena disappeared, though it did calm his mind.

As the wooden fish ceased its sound, Batty's trembling hands rested on the ground. The three-faced god had given Divpo City a chance to survive, but among some of the Divpo people circulated the idea that the Creator God hadn't completely abandoned them. At some point, his will would descend again, and while the three-faced god could provide a space to survive, only the Creator God could return them to the light of day.

Just the descent could make the fog recede…

Batty reverently put down the wooden fish and then made his way to the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc.

Li Xin was also waiting, and it wasn't long before Batty appeared, respectfully calling him sir before explaining what happened next.

Li Xin frowned, clearly realizing he was the key to the wooden fish's effectiveness, unsure if it was due to his uniqueness or the dice's ability. Just a few knocks had drained him, it was intolerable.

"Mr. Leo, due to some reasons, I can't frequently visit the Mist Continent. Since the wooden fish is now effective, I think you can continue to experiment with the effects, then return to the city under normal regulations. How to use it, I suggest discussing it more with others at the next roundtable," Li Xin said. "Of course, the only real salvation can come from yourselves."

He thought Taurus and Cancer were both quite capable in this regard, especially Taurus with organizational management experience. The wooden fish was just a tool; the situation in Divpo City seemed dangerous and complex. If used correctly, it could be helpful; if not, it might lead to disaster.

"Yes, sir, I will follow your guidance," Batty said, having understood.

"Redemption can only be achieved by oneself."

Once, mortals who sought endlessly from the gods finally brought upon themselves disaster. This is something the people of Divpo City deeply understood, and Batty knew more clearly that he had only received an immensely precious opportunity for trial, still far from redemption.

"Do you understand?" Li Xin asked with some doubt, feeling the two might not be thinking about the same thing.

"Yes, sir."

Li Xin laughed despite himself. Though he couldn't see Batty's state, he knew there had been a misunderstanding, and this couldn't be easily explained away. "Ahem, the Round Table Conference is like a family; we have larger missions. In private, do as you like, but when we're together, let's behave more normally."

Batty understood, nodding immediately, feeling foolish.

"That's all for today, Batty, goodbye."

"Goodbye, sir."

When Batty heard Mr. Gemini call his name, he knew he had finally gained initial approval.

Li Xin's figure disappeared from the Round Table Conference, with Batty respectfully standing up from the chair, bowing towards Gemini's chair, then leaving the Round Table Conference.

Returning to the lighthouse, Batty looked at the wooden fish before him. His large body suddenly prostrated on the ground, tears streaming down his face. This wasn't just about Roto; it was about all the Divpo people. The Mist Continent had been waiting for a thousand years, and finally, hope had appeared…
