The city walls could not stop the Inhaler at all, and without even fully revealing his true form, Philmy swiftly made his way outside the city in a ghostly manner. He could have gone through the sewers, but he chose not to. Once exposed, he was free to hunt, rapidly increasing his power until everyone became his prey. Heh heh~~~
He subconsciously let out a strange cry, enjoying it more and more. Once the sole worry was broken, the Fallen was completely unleashed. This was the problem after accepting the Abyssal Worm; primitive desires were growing day by day. Without enough self-control, losing control was only a matter of time. Philmy already found it tough to resist thus far.
Suddenly, a silhouette appeared ahead. Unbeknownst to him, Luo Jin had already blocked his path, a cigarette in his mouth, gazing at Philmy, "This is about enough."
Philmy had already transformed into the Inhaler form. When he first transformed, he retched, he feared, he smashed many mirrors, regretting deeply. But as time passed, he grew to love this form, finding unprecedented pleasure in both mating and feeding!
Slowly, he developed a sort of fondness and acceptance for this form. His thick limbs were covered with rolling, pulsating bulges, each seemingly with its own consciousness. There were over a dozen rotating, eye-like objects on his body. Atop the creature's torso was a bald head, red sinews wriggling, with a barely recognizable human face that still faintly resembled Philmy's.
"Ah, Luo Jin, Luo Jin, we would never interfere with each other. Why seek your own demise? How can a mere mortal like you contend with god?"
Luo Jin exhaled a smoke ring, almost laughing, "Do you look like a god?"
"What do you know? Do you think you know what a god looks like? That's just the imagination of foolish mortals," Philmy retorted, tongue flicking, "Releasing the body's constraints and liberating the soul is the ultimate form of life!"
"Philmy, you graduated from the Canon Law School, joined the Knight Order, and became a Captain Level in just a few years with limitless prospects. Why choose this path?" Luo Jin asked.
Philmy's tongue lashed, saliva hitting the ground, causing it to char. The acrid stench from his body grew stronger, "You want to ask about Montreal, right? Haha, I know a lot, more than you can imagine. Do you believe I'll openly return one day, hahahaha~~~~"
As he spoke, the bumps on Philmy's body opened their mouths, releasing mist. The mist spread from its appearance until it enveloped Luo Jin in over ten seconds, as Philmy's voice echoed through the fog, "Did you think I walked the city walls for no reason? I replenished enough water when I crossed the moat. The Night Patrol are useless morsels. Eating Kurt was hilarious…"
Bang, bang, bang…
The Hex Energy Gun pinpointed the Inhaler, firing accurately, yet the Secret Silver Bullet, usually effective against Fallen Creatures, failed to work.
Boom…
A heavy blow sent Luo Jin flying. Before he even hit the ground, a shadow approached under the cover of fog, launching a frenzied barrage at Luo Jin. The muffled sounds exploded within the fog. "Heh heh~~heh~~~, see? This is the power of gods. What, those pathetic Night Patrols? They're worse than dogs to me…"
Boom…
A deafening explosion cut Philmy's taunt short. His form was sent flying, but upon landing, Philmy lunged again, seemingly unfazed. If it were a human body, such a blow would have shattered bones, but the Inhaler's formidable physique didn't care. Moreover, Philmy could sense subtle changes within hundreds of meters around him.
From the ground's tremors, it was obvious that many Warriors were heading their way. The Inhaler excelled in combat, but the current environment was ill-suited for a brawl, especially when there could be Church members among them. The Church's magic was bothersome, and his power wasn't enough yet to confront the strength of an entire city.
Luo Jin seemed to grasp his thoughts and immediately attacked. Philmy moved swiftly within the mist, making capture difficult, but he wasn't trying to escape. A dazzling Spiritual Energy Aggregation Beam pierced the mist, shooting towards Luo Jin in an instant.
The sudden attack was skillfully dodged by Luo Jin, though only avoiding a vital point. His right arm was instantly pierced through, a chunk of flesh sheared away, blood gushing out instantly, causing Luo Jin to slightly furrow his brow.
"Quite the skill, but useless. With such power, not to mention flesh, even clad in Moon God's Blessed armor, you couldn't stop it, and you can't even hurt a hair on me!" Philmy roared, launching the Spiritual Energy Aggregation Beam—a power birthed by the Inhaler. The fog was just one aspect, its true core was an immensely resilient, nearly indestructible body and the unstoppable Spiritual Energy Aggregation Beam.
This made even the battle-hardened Night Patrols feel like quails. He remembered the disbelief in Kurt's eyes—how small, how pitiful. Had he not become an Inhaler, he wouldn't have even been a match for Kurt.
This was the strike that dealt Kurt a fatal blow. The Night Patrols, often facing mysterious cases, all had their survival tricks, but none could withstand such attacks. Kurt's abilities weren't enough; he was struck through a vital point, and Luo Jin was fortunate, losing just an arm. But within the mist, how could he dodge a second strike?
Philmy excitedly opened his mouth, splitting to his forehead, revealing a tiny creature's head among the rolling lumps, features twisted yet recognizable, resembling some creature. The Energy Gathering Beam was emitted from its mouth.
At that moment, light flickered, as if a small red sun rose within the mist, boom~~~
A beam as thick as an arm blasted out, tearing through the mist, demolishing the Inhaler's lower half. Philmy's eyes bulged as he couldn't feel pain, only watching as his lower half vanished, leaving the rest floating in the air as a figure suddenly appeared beside him.
Luo Jin, cigarette still in mouth, seized the tiny creature Philmy tried to retract into his mouth, gathering red Spirit Ointment around his fingers with a single hand, red rings instantly binding the little creature.
The Sealing Technique was completed.
By this time, the Night Patrol and Knight Order had arrived from not far away, Luo Jin's cigarette burned out as well, "Deliver to the Church."
"Yes, boss!"
The Night Patrols shouted in unison, their voices resounding to the heavens, their morale soaring, finally, finally capturing it!
Watching the grotesque remnants of the Inhaler's half-body and the creature in its mouth, the crowd was all roused with emotion. The remaining half-body still showed signs of movement, showing no signs of death, prompting a renewed respect from the Knights towards the Night Patrols.
In the crowd, Kathy looked anxiously at Luo Jin's wound. Unexpectedly, Lee Shin noticed she didn't rush out.
Capturing the Inhaler Philmy wasn't the end; Luo Jin didn't think this was all there was to it.
