I Have a Dice Left by a God

Chapter 85: Old Friends from the Secret Castle (Part 2)

Lu Shuai isn't happy; his heart, which yearns to go international, is sinking. Is he really going to take the inner beauty route?

Zhao Qing, who had just returned, seemed to be in a bad mood. He was staring even more sternly at everyone's training, pondering something unknown.

Luo Xue and Simmons had already arrived at the third floor of the Black Rose Base, in Luo Xue's exclusive President's Office.

"Governor Luthor has a forward-looking vision. The architectural style integrates Dragon Capital's culture with hints of other countries. I see the Moncalleta aesthetic in it," Simmons sighed. "To be honest, before coming here, I wasn't very convinced. I always thought the reports were exaggerated. But these days, traveling from Dragon Capital to Celestial Capital has opened my eyes. Truly, there are geniuses who can know the world without traveling far."

"Simmons, are you trying to kill with kindness? Using that on us seems a bit wasteful." Luo Xue laughed. Although the compliment was for Governor Luthor, as a Dragon Capital native, she was still very happy. "You have plenty of coffee over there. Try our Dragon Capital tea. It's from my private collection."

"Haha, sure, Dragon Capital's tea is the best in this area. When I was in Moncalleta, I couldn't afford it," Simmons joked.

Of course, Luo Xue didn't believe it. Simmons' family was a prominent one in Moncalleta, along with the people from the Canon Law School. The nobility of Moncalleta was rather daunting in their quality. They had an aristocratic battlefield system; in the event of war, the nobility had to fight on the frontlines, while commoners served as the second echelon.

"Six years have passed." Luo Xue felt a mix of nostalgia and anticipation. She had recently run into Li Xin, now meeting Simmons, with a few more people on the way. As time went on, memories, once suspected to be dreams, were coming back to life.

"It passed in the blink of an eye. I'm really looking forward to this time." As he spoke, Simmons put down the teacup and stared unblinkingly at Luo Xue, suggesting that if she was able to leave, she too had acquired a Divine Relic.

Luo Xue just gave a slight smile, "Just luck."

"Haha, isn't luck the greatest strength? I paid a significant price for it," Simmons said with a sigh, his piercing blue eyes carrying an oppressive aura.

Both sides were testing each other, yet stopped just short.

"I'm quite curious. Why did you agree to Zhao Qing's invitation to come to Celestial Capital?" Luo Xue asked. This Four-Nation Tournament initially served as a Hex-Tech exchange visit between Saint's Grace and Iron Blood in Celestial Capital, but Zhao Xun capitalized on the momentum to make it a grand Four-Nation Tournament.

"I missed you. Can't I come to see an old friend?" Simmons laughed. The Monkaleta people were passionate and romantic, quite different from the conservative style of Celestial Capital.

Legend has it that a Monkaleta man or woman isn't charming if they don't have several lovers.

Unfortunately, Luo Xue wasn't buying it, "I doubt I have that much charm. You wouldn't have a different agenda, would you?"

"So blunt? I didn't before coming, but now I do. You've underestimated your charm," Simmons continued with his praise. "Moncalleta has been studying Hex-Tech these past years. Celestial Capital is the birthplace and excels in Hex-Tech, coupled with Zhao Qing's sincere invitation. I can't see a reason to refuse."

"Everything you've said is correct, but I know there must be more to it, or rather, these reasons are of minor importance." Luo Xue looked at Simmons, lightly furrowing her brow.

Simmons revealed a hearty smile, "I've acquainted myself with the Luo Family; a newly emerging family, they gained aristocratic status following Governor Luthor, thus counting as a rising family. Do you know what issues such families face?"

Luo Xue quietly watched Simmons. Often at such times, there's no need to answer; simply looking at the other prompts them to provide the answer.

"A lack of foundation, Luo Xue. After leaving there, what path did you choose?" Simmons asked.

Luo Xue froze momentarily, "Canon Law School."

Simmons smiled, gently shaking his head, "What a shame, it seems you haven't awakened your Second Life Star yet. To be honest, it's a bit disappointing; you need to be careful."

Luo Xue was internally shaken. She... had been seen through, without any actions, simply through a few words, judging the status of her Life Star. Was it a bluff? Moreover, the other party clearly had hidden meanings.

"Oh, I'm looking forward to it," Luo Xue said calmly. On her home turf, the feeling of the other party grasping the rhythm was rather unpleasant.

Simmons didn't dwell on the issue. The Luo family had gained the eligibility to venture to the Secret Castle to acquire a Divine Relic. Luo Xue's skills and luck were commendable, but the family was indeed lacking in history. Leaving the Secret Castle must have presented another opportunity; perhaps he'd find a chance to negotiate with her about this secret.

Of course, the honors of this Four-Nation Tournament should be contested between him and Kazi. Although Karesi wasn't lacking, she still fell slightly short of beating the two of them.

Luo Xue really didn't like the showy stance of the other party. Yet her intuition told her he wasn't just putting on airs but indeed lacked something very important. Simmons' attitude was extremely casual.

He certainly came with significant intentions, and it had something to do with him personally. The only advantage she had was leaving the Secret Castle by her means, whereas he or his family paid a price.

"Oh, by the way, Kazi is also an acquaintance of ours. You'll know when you meet," Simmons reminded, "But this guy has a bit of a temper; be cautious."

Luo Xue knew; Karesi had already sent a messenger to inform her. Karesi's messenger was a charming white owl, and she was prepared.

"You and Kazi are quite familiar?"

"We had a few encounters in the Secret Castle, and we've met post-departure, although we never had the chance to face off. This should be our first official meeting," Simmons said. "You are genuinely quite brave."

Luo Xue disliked this constant insinuation style of speaking, but now wasn't the time to question it. Asking would have been fruitless and weak, and it could very well be a deliberate mental tactic by him.

"You're interested in Hex-Tech. I can make some arrangements. Celestial Capital Canon Law School and Saint Grace Canon Law School should have many avenues for collaboration." Luo Xue redirected the topic to its rightful track.

"Absolutely. There are still many debates about Hex-Tech over on our side. While I don't think it has much military value, it certainly brings wealth," Simmons laughed. "Who doesn't like getting rich?"

Just then, there was a knock on the door outside. "Come in,"

Li Xin walked in, glanced at Simmons, and thought, hell, where did this guy come from, looking all fancy? "President, I have a matter to discuss."

Simmons stared unblinkingly at Li Xin, initially puzzled, then seemingly recalled something, his body tensing suddenly, and his expression turned stiff.
