Unexpectedly, on hearing the whole story, Demon's reaction was a fit of loud laughter! He actually couldn't restrain himself, his composer cracking at the sad tale.
A few instances later!...
He shook his head, wiping away the tears from his eyes. "Ooh boy!."
He looked at Aethrox Blazeshade, whose cold glare couldn't be more obvious as to what the mortal wanted to do to him, after watching him laugh at his plight.
Regardless, he was still too weak to truly do anything to him. Not like he was capable of, even if he was normal.
Demon smirked amusedly.
"Pathetic! How lamentable that you still live, mortal. That you dare dream of vengeance after letting happen what happened...
To have watched your own womans be toyed around by another male, yet you still dare to draw breath, I feel sorry for those girls to have choosen you as their man, rather then the disgusting you."
He made an unpleasant expression.
Exhaling! He spoke, his tone serious. "Truly a disappointment and an utter waste of time you were, mortal."
"What do you know, for you to mock me?"
Aethrox spat, his words were blatant and direct. They were loud, without showing any sort of respect or fear towards him, as though having been suppressed for far too long, they finally erupted.
"I was young, had no connections nor the appropriate experience, I was ambushed, had no help, surrounded by people who only wanted to use me...
So easy for you to say, I'm disgusting, pathetic and a disappointment. How laughable, do you think I loved what I saw, that I didn't try my best?"
He shouted, his eyes wide with raw rage, one that had nowhere to go, one that was like a rot, eating him from inside out for centuries.
"Still to this day, whenever I close my eyes, I see there guilt-stricken faces, expressions which only begged for my forgiveness, quavering gazes which only sought my pardon for there repulsive actions, but I can't! I just cannot forgive them!...
Indeed, I failed them, but only because I was naïve and foolish to have so easily lost my temper! Myself on seeing my mother be captured... I-I.. I can't forgive Myself."
Aethrox finished, his tone loud and fractured, his gaze venomous yet filled with nothing but blame.
Demon scoffed. "Exactly this is why you're so disappointing kid, this is the problem with you, Aethrox! You think just your low self-control was the reason behind everything...
No, you're wrong, no matter how much you try to justify or blame yourself!...
It won't change the fact that you aren't but a failure, you're a disgrace of a man, an incompetent man, an arrogant one, who was full of himself, his hollow strength...
Who thought he was a genius, what a joke! If you were one, then you wouldn't have let those girls suffer. You were nothing but an ignorant brat, who thought of playing on a bigger field without having any sort of backing, knowledge, genius or cunning...
You entered a playing ground beyond your capability, one you entered only based on your fleeting and pointless achievements...
Despite being weak, you dreamt big, mortal! And weakness is an unforgivable sin in the demon realm, a sin which you committed, henceforth you suffered, and you suffered just."
Demon shook his head as he saw how Aethrox was trying to cope with his failures! He was still trapped in his delusion of being a genius.
Not understanding, if he truly was one, then he obviously wouldn't have fallen because of a mere rumor. His account was also flawed, where he blamed everything on others or the surroundings, never reflecting on himself.
For one, Aethrox was completely ignorant on most of the things, his world view was at best; shallow! And another being, he had never faced any failures in his life, let alone any challenges that would've helped him grow as an individual.
Which was the main reason for his fall.
His tendency to blame the situations, zero accountability or acknowledgement towards his own mistakes, no reflection or learning from them, his shallow thinking, inadequate or rudimentary planning, insubstantial information, insufficient knowledge, high arrogance, no experience amongst many other things which were plain to see for anyone with a brain, let alone him.
And what's more, Aethrox refused to accept his reality, he couldn't accept that he reached where he was only because of his above average luck. Undoubtedly, he was talented, but his haughtiness had never let him realize that talent.
Accordingly, the first challenges that life gave him, he failed it miserably because of how hollow he was regarding how the world worked.
Nonetheless, at least his negative emotions, his hatred and resentment were real.
Though weak, the negativity was dense and pure. Something which, not many had in the demon realm. It was the only reason Demon even found him interesting.
Aethrox was young and strong but had a broken Ego, which made it way more easier for the Curreption of Hate and Resentment to swallow his body whole and enthral his soul within its web.
The seed had already begun taking form and spreading its roots in the existence known as Aethrox Blazeshade! Though it was still in its infancy stage, its first phase of life and was almost nonexistent but that was enough to attract Demon's attention.
"How dare you? Don't you fucking lecture me, you bastard."
Aethrox bellowed, his body trembling whereas Demon, on hearing him, also came out of his thoughts. His gaze refocused on the miserable mortal, who couldn't accept the truth.
"You pure blooded demons are always the same revolting vermins, who takes joy in others suffering, especially mixed and impure blooded ones such as Me."
Evidently, the hate had clearly blinded Aethrox, and Demon could clearly see that.
Considering, with him essentially crippled, there was nowhere for that hatred and rage to go, therefore it had instead become a poison to him. Not like, it wouldn't have become such if he wasn't crippled.
Even then, it would've indeed remained a poison but on that instance, it would've rather served as something that would've kept him going despite his broken state.
"Master, can I kill this mortal?"
All of a sudden, Vanessa whispered from behind. "I cannot bring myself to stomach his disrespect and brazen attitude towards you anymore~ " Her tone cold, indifferent and emotionless.
Surprisingly, to which, Demon shook his head.
Certainly, his curiosity wouldn't allow him to end such a good seed of curreption. As for the insults, did it really matter what an ignorant insect thought of him.
He wasn't that petty or free enough, so as to get offended by such pointless outrage or rudeness.
On the other hand, Vanessa, though not happy with his response, still let the matter slide. She had learnt her lesson after all, and obviously wasn't going to displease her master again.
Though there was still that itch, to do it anyways, for that tasty reward regardless of the prior painful slaps she would get, as anything from her master was always welcomed by her.
Vanessa blushed a slight shade, getting lost in her own fantasies. Whereas...
"How about this Aethrox Blazeshade... " Demon voiced, his lips curled.
Aethrox, with a shudder, gritted his teeth and matched his unafraid eyes with Demon's manipulative gaze. "I will grant you your vengeance, and I will grant without asking anything in return...
You have two options! First: I'll give you the strength you need to complete your vengeance on every single individual living in Erythron...
It would be enough strength for you to end and slaughter all of Erythron without any problem. However if you choose this one then you won't have long to live...
Meaning with no time, you would only be able to kill your enemies and would not be able to relish the process and torture them for what they have done to you...
Alternatively, for the second option, I'll merely heal you back to your prime...
Your core would be restored and injuries would be regenerated, but in this process, the price would be your rank regression, you would become an Inferior Greater Demon again...
Meaning, afterwards, you'd have to work harder and work smarter, with cunning, immorality and wickedness befitting of an actual demon, if you want to realize your full vengeance on Erythron...
Moreover if you truly managed to successfully achieve your vengeance in the next half a mellinnia then you have my word as ... ... ... I'd give you your dead family back...
So, what is your answer Aethrox Blazeshade?"
Demon questioned, smiling widely. He had a few reasons as to why he choose those conditions, like regressing the mortal or killing him in the first options.
Considering, if he wanted to make this intresting, then the hybrid had to show his worth first.
The seed was fragile.
Meaning without proper nourishment and nutrients! It would die down without any fanfare, which would be a real shame, a true tragedy, certainly.
On the other side, Aethrox just stared at Demon with a blank gaze. Reasonable, because, indeed he was left dumbfounded by the absurdity of what he just heard... ... ... ... ...
