God of Contracts: I Can Trade Anything

Chapter 22: The Powerful Mr. Nell

The officer looked around, didn't pay attention to anything else, and put cuffs on the two first.

Then the three of them were taken to the police station.

It was really cold and no mercy. Bruno couldn't say a word during the whole process.

Bruno was locked in an interrogation chair. He looked at the officer in front of him and said, "Officer, I'm a hero saving a beauty. Why am I locked up too?"

"Are you from the eighth district? How did you get into the top three districts?" The officer was a woman in uniform, pretty but cold, asked.

In Bloom City, people were not allowed to move between districts. The bottom three were a bit looser, and the middle three didn't care much. But the top three were super strict. Bruno sneaked in and wasn't caught, that was okay. But now that he was caught, he was in big trouble.

"I say I have a noble title. Do you believe me?" Bruno rubbed his forehead. Damn, he had forgotten, he sold his noble title, so he lost the right to go to the top three.

That was why Paul could be a "weapon dealer" in the bottom three, but wanted noble titles so much. Because a noble title was a pass to enter the top three. Of course, it wasn't only noble titles. Being a new student at Sunset University also worked.

The officer's forehead had a vein popping out. He snapped, "Don't play with me. Why did you enter the top three?"

"..." Bruno had no answer.

At that moment, the door of the interrogation room opened.

A senior officer wearing a star badge walked in and said, "Stop the interrogation. Let him go."

"What?" The interrogator opened his mouth in shock.

"Let him go!" The senior officer urged.

"Yes, sir." The interrogator opened the chair. Bruno was surprised and asked, "What's going on?"

The senior officer smiled slyly at him and said, "You should have said you were Mr. Gaston's student. With a pass from Gaston's academy, you can go anywhere in the top three."

Wow!

So Mr. Nell was that important?

Bruno blinked. He had never expected this outcome.

He was just worried about how to get out of this mess.

"Is my master also running an academy in the top three?" Bruno asked curiously.

The officer laughed, "Of course. Mr. Gaston has over 120 academies in Bloom City."

"Does joining Gaston's academy get you a pass?" Bruno was even more surprised. He didn't expect Mr. Nell's power to be so big. That's why they were always ready to kill people.

"Not at all. Only Mr. Gaston's students have it. It was specially allowed by Lord Stanford," the officer seemed to respect Nell a lot, and treated Bruno like an elder.

Lord Stanford?

Bruno blinked. He had a noble title, but had never met Lord Stanford. He only knew he was a powerful person in Bloom City. He didn't expect to know him.

"Okay," Bruno walked out of the interrogation room with a big step. The officer followed him closely and said, "I'm Rex, the head of the second district's police. When you come back to the second district next time, just let me know. I can protect you. If you run into a crazy guy like that, you don't need to fight yourself."

Bruno felt a lot of emotions in his heart.

In the bottom three districts, he was the king of his own territory. The police station bosses there never looked at him straight in the eye. Never mind Rex being so polite like this.

Looks like being a student of Gaston is way more useful than being a baron.

"Speaking of villains," Bruno asked, "what are you guys going to do with him?"

Rex's eyes moved around, and he asked carefully, "What do you think?"

Bruno thought for a second and said seriously, "This criminal is really bad. He tried to kidnap a student from Sunset University. His actions were terrible and caused a lot of problems."

"I see," Rex said with a serious face. "For scum like this from the bottom three, I'll hit them hard."

Bruno nodded, satisfied. Good, good.

If they could keep that tattooed guy locked up, Tarnison would find out later. That would give Mr. Nell more time to plan.

"Let's stop here," Bruno said to Rex outside the police station.

Rex nodded and smiled, "When you come back to the second district next time, just let me know."

"Sure, no problem," Bruno said.

He hadn't taken two steps when his communicator buzzed. He answered it, and Nell's calm voice said, "You're out?"

Bruno said, "Mr. Nell, you got me out?"

"Who else?" Nell said flatly. "Next time, bring your pass if you go to the top three. Going to the police station is a waste of time."

"Thanks, Mr. Nell," Bruno chuckled. "How did you know I got caught?"

"I was in the second district doing business. I saw you fighting someone. From your stupid look, I knew you'd definitely get caught. So I told the police about it." Nell said.

"Oh, right. Thanks, Mr. Nell." Bruno said.

Nell said, "No big deal. Go do your thing."

The communicator hung up.

Bruno rubbed his lips, feeling a lot of emotions.

It feels great to have a big boss to rely on!

He smiled and walked toward Sunset University. He didn't expect to run into Agatha right around the corner.

"Hey, you're still here?" Bruno was a bit curious.

Agatha saw Bruno and looked surprised. She said happily, "You're out already?"

"What's that mean?" Bruno had a black line on his forehead. He acted annoyed. "I'm not a bad guy."

"No, that's not what I meant," Agatha blushed. "The officer said you didn't have a pass. You know, the top three are very strict with people from the bottom six."

Bruno smiled. "It's fine."

"I haven't even thanked you yet," Agatha said, still a bit shaken. "If it wasn't for you, I would've been taken by that bad guy."

Bruno frowned. "How did you even get mixed up with him?"

It was all because of him, after all. He felt a bit guilty about the woman in front of him.

"There was no contact. As soon as I left the school, he came up and blocked me. He used Arcane Power to block my throat and lock my body. I couldn't scream, and I couldn't move." Agatha bit her lip, her eyes full of some confusion. She couldn't figure out how she had gotten into this trouble.

Bruno sighed, "Be careful next time. Try not to leave the school."

Agatha forced a weak smile, her expression a bit sad and lonely.

Bruno felt a pang in his heart. "Do you need money?"

"Need," Agatha paused. "But I can make it myself."

Bruno understood. Maybe Agatha had gone out to work a part-time job. "Here, take these two gold coins."

He pushed the two coins into the woman's hands.

Agatha was shocked. She quickly refused, "No, this is too expensive."

You see, in today's society, a regular worker could earn 60 silver coins a month and that was considered a high salary. Two gold coins were worth 200 silver coins. That was enough for Agatha to use for a long time.

"It's okay, just think of it as payment for you." Bruno said.

"What do you want me to do?" Agatha asked, a bit unsure.

Bruno said, "Do you know Elise?"

"Elise?"

"Elise Haidi."

"Oh, her!" Agatha's voice got louder. "Who doesn't know her? She's a big star at the school. A 3rd-stage student. She's high rank in both Meditation Technique and breathing method. She has a bright future."

Bruno smiled, "Can you help me find her?"

"She should be in the library now," Agatha said.

"Let's go. Take me there." Bruno couldn't wait any longer. He grabbed Agatha's wrist and pulled her along.

He really needed Elise's bone structure.

"Okay, slow down."

Using Agatha's student ID, they entered Sunset University and walked to the southeast corner, where a classic and grand building stood.

Agatha introduced, "This is the library."

At that moment, the library was surrounded by students, and even some students held flowers in their hands.

Bruno's face twitched and he asked, "What's going on here?"

Agatha whispered, "They're all here to chase Elise."

"???"

Bruno was completely confused.

Wasn't this overkill? There were at least thirty or fifty people here, all chasing Elise?

Was it really that bad?

Looking at Elise's picture, she didn't seem that pretty to him.

With curiosity, Agatha led Bruno into the library. Looking at the eight-story building, Bruno's head felt dizzy. He asked, "How are we going to find her?"

Agatha smiled playfully, "Don't worry, it's easy to find."
