God of Contracts: I Can Trade Anything

Chapter 28: Tarnison’s Fury the Ambush

Heavenly Gang? The Mountain Division's base?

Was Elena taking him straight to mess with Tarnison?

Bruno's eyes lit up at once.

The assassin from earlier was just a small problem — the real source of danger was Heavenly Gang's Tarnison.

As long as Tarnison was dealt with, the threat from Heavenly Gang would naturally disappear.

Elena glanced at Bruno, who had gone quiet in thought, and spoke straight to the point:

"Don't overthink it. We're just going to warn him. The guy himself is still yours to handle."

Bruno nodded. That was what Master Nell meant as well.

For him, this was good news.

What he lacked wasn't talent or potential — it was time to grow.

As long as he had enough time and the Book of All Things, he was sure he could grow to a height no one could imagine.

Heavenly Gang, Mountain Division's base.

The 7-stage Warlock-Warrior Tarnison was staring at his men with a dark expression.

"Trash. All of you are trash. That alchemy bomb cost five or six thousand gold, and you just threw it away like that?"

The Executioner, who had just come back from the Security Bureau, let out a long sigh and said quietly,

"We can't make any more big moves for now."

"Rex, the Security Bureau chief of District Two, just sent me a message. He said we went too far. The explosion caused a huge mess, and he's already getting complaints from a bunch of nobles."

There was nothing they could do.

The plan had been perfect — a 4-stage Warlock-Warrior carrying a powerful alchemy bomb should've been enough to take out that damned Bruno.

But then Elena, someone far stronger than expected, showed up and ruined everything.

"That was my son! I finally found the real murderer, and now I can't even avenge him!" A red gleam flashed in Tarnison's eyes.

After learning the truth, he almost wanted to hunt Bruno down and tear him to pieces.

But the Gaston Dojo was not easy to provoke.

Even the entire Heavenly Gang didn't dare lay a finger on Nell Gaston.

"I will pay this debt back… no matter what." Tarnison took a deep breath, his gaze turning vicious.

The Executioner hesitated before speaking slowly:

"Boss… the assassination mission has already been canceled. Without Bar No.19 as the buffer, if anything goes wrong and the dojo finds evidence, we'll be in deep trouble."

"Maybe we should wait a bit?"

Tarnison suddenly waved his hand and snapped, his eyes firm, "I can't wait!"

"Bruno must die!"

"Send someone to check the identities of the other two killers who took the job.

Find out everything and report to me at once!"

The Executioner nodded and turned toward the office door.

Just as he touched the doorknob, a huge force smashed straight through the heavy wooden door.

Boom!

The Executioner was blasted backward, crashed hard into the desk, and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"Who!"

Tarnison spun around, staring fiercely at the broken door.

No one appeared.

Tarnison's whole body tensed.

His muscles swelled, his frame expanding a bit as he prepared to fight at any moment.

"This is the Heavenly Gang's Mountain Division. Are you trying to challenge the Heavenly Gang?" he shouted, voice tight.

With light steps, Elena walked out calmly.

Her long red hair swayed gently as she moved, her face peaceful and relaxed.

"Challenge you? And what if I am?"

Elena crossed her arms, lifted her chin slightly, and looked at Tarnison with open disdain.

Tarnison's pupils shrank.

His gaze quickly shifted to the figure standing behind her.

"You… you actually dare show yourself in front of me!"

Tarnison gnashed his teeth as he glared at the one who killed his son.

Bruno copied Elena's posture, crossing his arms over his chest as he replied:

"Yeah, it's me. What can you do about it?"

Elena was a 12-stage Warlock-Warrior.

Tarnison was only a 7-stage. With a gap like that, Bruno had nothing to worry about.

Seeing Elena kick the door open like that only made her look even more badass in his eyes.

At the same time, he started thinking seriously about the power of the Gaston Dojo.

Maybe… as one of Nell Gaston's disciples, he should act a little more aggressive?

Just as that thought crossed his mind, he noticed Elena turn back to glance at him, the corner of her mouth twitching.

She was barely holding it together.

Bruno had killed a 7-stage Warlock-Warrior's only son, and he was still acting this arrogant.

Honestly… he really did fit the dojo's style.

The Ten Thousand Hells was already full of slaughter and blood, death and pain.

A weak, soft-hearted loser could never cultivate the Ten Thousand Hells to completion.

Elena gave Bruno a small nod, then looked back at Tarnison and said quietly:

"One finger. Are you doing it yourself, or should I do it for you?"

Tarnison looked at the Executioner slowly climbing up from the wrecked desk.

He took a deep breath and shouted sharply:

"Elena! Don't go too far. I may only be the Master of the Mountain Section, but I still represent the whole Heavenly Gang!"

"Is the Gaston Dojo planning to start a war with the Heavenly Gang?"

Elena lowered her arms, shook her head seriously, and answered:

"A full war is unlikely."

"You better understand this, we Heavenly Gang are..." Tarnison let out a sigh of relief.

"Stanford Count wouldn't let you. Otherwise, you'd be dead by now."

Elena stretched her neck as she slowly walked toward Tarnison.

"If you don't want to do it yourself, then I'll do it for you."

Someone had put a hit on Bruno, and there had to be a price to pay for that.

Even though she and Bruno had only known each other for a few days, once Bruno was taken under Master's wing, he became her friend!

As long as Bruno didn't betray his master or his ancestors, she would always extend a hand to help him.

Boom!

The floor cracked like spider webs as Elena shot forward like an arrow, reaching Tarnison in the blink of an eye.

Tarnison, a 7-stage Warlock-Warrior, still tried to resist.

He gritted his teeth, widened his legs slightly, and, using his waist to power his muscles, threw a punch toward her.

"Tiger Cannon Fist!"

Roar!

His fist sliced through the air with the roar of a tiger.

Far off, Bruno narrowed his eyes slightly.

His Tiger-Wolf Combat Technique was perfected, so he could tell at a glance: Tarnison's Tiger Cannon Fist was already surpassing its limit, almost breaking through entirely.

Yet, facing this full-force attack, Elena simply extended her right hand and gently clenched it.

In an instant, the roar of the tiger vanished, replaced by the sickening sound of bones breaking.

Elena grasped Tarnison's wrist with one hand and yanked it downward.

The overwhelming strength of a 12-stage Warlock-Warrior drove Tarnison's body straight into the floor.

Then, Elena used a simple joint-locking technique to restrain Tarnison completely.

Expressionless, she pried open Tarnison's clenched fist, grabbed a finger, and with a twist and a pull, she tore it off without mercy.

Gnngh!

Tarnison didn't scream in pain.

His eyes, wide with fury, fixed on Bruno in the distance.

They were bloodshot, filled with murderous intent.

No matter what, he couldn't show any weakness in front of the killer of his son!

Revenge!

He must have revenge!

All that filled Tarnison's mind was that thought.

By the time he began to regain his senses, Elena had already reached Bruno's side.

"Boss, the finger's still here, it's still here! We can still make it to the hospital!"

The Executioner, holding his stomach with one hand, picked up the finger Elena had casually discarded and hurried to Tarnison, his face full of relief.

Tarnison took the finger, but his mind was filled with images of his son's lifeless body.

Crunch, crunch.

Tarnison threw the finger into his mouth, chewing it wildly.

His eyes never left Bruno, as if the finger he chewed was not his own, but Bruno's flesh and blood!

He wouldn't rest until this grudge was settled!

Outside, Elena looked at Bruno, who seemed deep in thought, and asked:

"What's wrong? Are you scared? His Meditation Technique isn't even High Rank yet. With your level of Meditation Technique and breathing method, you could take him down easily once you reach 5th or 6th stage."

Bruno shook his head.

The conflict with Heavenly Gang had already escalated beyond repair the moment he killed Kaiden.

Did he regret it?

Actually, yes. He regretted being careless, leaving behind too many traces.

"Elena, do you think if Tarnison dies now, Heavenly Gang will think we did it? I mean, just hypothetically." Bruno asked.

Elena shook her head and replied,

"Tarnison can't die yet. He has a close relationship with the leader of Heavenly Gang. If the friction between us and Heavenly Gang escalates any further, Count Stanford will get involved. That would be a huge problem."

Stanford Count?

Bruno only knew that Stanford Count controlled the top three districts of Sunset City and was the most powerful noble, but he hadn't heard anything else about him.

If Stanford Count called a full noble meeting, Bruno might get a chance to see him in person.

But in Bruno's memory, such meetings were only called in times of major danger.

It had been a long time since Sunset City had held one.

"Who's stronger, Stanford Count or Master?" Bruno asked, curious.

Just as Elena was about to answer, her communicator suddenly vibrated.

She looked at it and saw a message from her senior brother, Tursos.

"Let's go, back to the dojo! Hurry!"

Elena glanced at the message, a flash of panic crossing her face.

Bruno quickly followed Elena, asking, "What's going on?"

Elena replied, "Master's been attacked!"
