My Ultimate Life-Stealing System Made Me Invincible

Chapter 45: Nathan Cross.

Silas looked at her through the mirror as a small smirk curled up on his lips. "Well, I'm here to participate in the tournament."

He pointed towards the wall on his right, on which a huge poster regarding the details of the tournament was.

The lady gave a small smirk as she stood up from her desk, looking at Silas right in his eyes as her voice came firm. "Well, the miracle rookie now wants to win the tourney too?"

Silas looked at her as he brushed his hair with his right hand slightly. His voice came deep. "When the opportunity to win the money and fame is right ahead of me, why should I not accept it, huh?"

Her gaze fell onto Ragnar, who was sitting on the head of Silas. A small smirk was tucked on her lips. "And who's this little cutie with you? I wasn't able to see him before because this cutie was getting blocked because of the mirror."

She extended her hand forward as she tried to touch Ragnar, but it growled when her hand was just a few inches away from its head.

It made her withdraw her hand quickly as she got a bit scared; a small groan escaped her mouth. "Ouch! He's quite violent, isn't he?" she said softly as she shook her hand, trying to let go of the tension.

Silas smirked as he patted the head of Ragnar. Ragnar closed its eyes as it howled softly, and Silas's voice came low. "Well, what do you expect from a baby who's not fond of humans?"

She chewed on her gum as she faced towards the other corner where the huge line of hunters was and said, "Well, leave it all for later and follow me."

She started walking towards the front, leading the way.

Silas didn't waste a second as he began walking behind her trail, looking ahead. 'That fucking prize money is mine.' Silas raised his fist slightly as he clenched it tightly.

When they reached there, there were a bunch of reporters too, and they were trying to get the best shot. It seemed like their focus was on a certain someone and not on all of the hunters.

Silas looked at them from his side-eye, took his hand behind his neck as he scratched it slightly.

She noticed his confused expression, and her voice came low. "You're probably wondering why they are so eager, right?" she said as she looked at Silas.

Silas gave a small nod in agreement to her words. Then she continued as she kept walking. "There are a few entries from the top guilds, which are managed by the S-Rank hunters. And also, oh, there's one girl who's from the guild of the hunter Nathan Cross."

Silas recalled the memory of the day when he saw Nathan in the news.

'Damn, I always wanted to be like him... For now, I'll defeat the girl who's from his guild, then the next two will be his.' His eyes were full of resolve.

She kept walking ahead of Silas as her voice came softly. "Come with me, I'll make it easier for you so that you don't waste your time in here."

She then walked towards the cabin where the entries were getting registered.

Silas followed her inside. There were 2 desks there, and on each of them there was a setup of computer.

The hologram keyboard was hovering in the sky as two men sat in their seats and were taking the registration.

She then put her hand on the back of one of the employees and said, "Yo, Jack. I got a miraculous newbie with me, register him first."

Jack stopped typing and turned his head slightly, enough to look at her. "Ah, Mia. Why are you here? Done with today's work?"

Mia looked at Silas as she pointed at him with her finger, and her voice came low. "I just said, here's this guy whom I want you to register before the others."

Her voice didn't reach the ears of any hunter who stood in the line for hours now; the mirror was blocking the sound from going out.

Jack stretched his fingers and slightly moved his neck, cracking them. "Well, fine by me. Can you give me your Awakened Card, mister?" he said, shifting his gaze towards Silas.

Silas smiled as he reached into his pocket and pulled the card out, and extended his hand forward, putting the card onto the desk.

Jack picked the card as he looked at the details; his voice came low. "Oh? A B-Rank hunter, huh? Why are you supporting him, Mia?"

Mia's hands went to her hair as she grabbed it and took it to her back, tying it with a rubber band as she said, her voice firm. "Well, you don't know what this rookie did a few days ago. Let's keep it for the next time, and you register him."

Jack gave a small nod as he turned towards the screen and filled in the details. Shortly, a page got printed, and he passed it to Silas.

Silas reached out to get it, and he checked his form.

A small smirk curled up on his face as he looked towards Mia. His voice came deep. "Thanks for the help, Mia."

She simply gave a small sigh. Then he left the cabin and went to another room, which was the waiting area for the hunters.

There were a lot of hunters there. Some were fully armed with weapons, some were chit-chatting among themselves.

Some were panicking and hoped they didn't match with anyone stronger than them.

Whispers started to come from the crowd. "Oh, I hope I don't get matched with Leon."The other person said, "Leon? He's still nice, but Maya? She's the silent devil... I'm hoping that I don't get Maya."

Silas's smile turned wicked, voice came low. "Maya and Leon, huh?" he muttered under his breath.
