Jimmy tried to find the source of the musky smell by reading through the many nerve endings around the Compy's skin. This was more of a challenge than he expected it to be, because there were thousands upon thousands of nerve endings across its skin!
There was no easy way to find one culprit, especially since he barely knew anything about medicine, so he didn't know what to look for, but he tried to anyway. Five minutes later, half of his mana got depleted. He was getting angry, and frustrated, and the Compies only added to his frustration.
He tamed them to be loyal, but he didn't do anything about their violent, and albeit playful nature. As he tried to analyze one, the rest were nibbling on his legs. They didn't try to hurt him, they were just playful, and demanded attention.
"Piss off, murder chickens," He waved his hand, trying to shoo them away.
It didn't work, and they mistook his movements as him playing with them, so they started jumping around more. They even mimicked his movements with their short arms, and chirped along in joy.
Rulya cackled when she saw this. It was quite the show for her. Humans playing with Compies was a new experience, it was funny, and at some point she avoided looking at him, so she could stop herself from laughing. She had at least some sort of respect for him, so she didn't want to push any boundaries.
Jimmy eventually gave in, and started playing with the Compies. They were naturally violent, so he played according to their standards. He put them in head-locks, and started throwing them around, all while staying true to his analytical task.
The Compies had strong legs, so they didn't get hurt when he tossed them. It was smart to start playing with them, because he eventually tired them out. They were two-foot dwarves, so they couldn't really keep up with him.
After he tired them out, he directed all of his attention towards the task. This time, he avoided going through thousands of nerve endings, as to not deplete his mana entirely, and focused on singular nerves.
Its functions were simple, such as the sensitivity to touch, pain, etc, so he didn't make any progress. The nerve ending's functions were painted in his mind like a canvas, but he couldn't find any hidden, hormone addling function that he had suspected to find in them.
"Don't tell me these fuckers don't sweat," He grunted, confused. "They smell horrible, it would be impossible for them not to sweat."
Jimmy had suspected that the sweat of the dinosaurs released that mysterious odor, but that might not be the case, as based on his limited knowledge, they may not sweat at all. He didn't know what kind of other natural odor to look for, he was stumped, and got irritated.
After a deep breath, he was reminded of one more reason regarding why he was irritated. The stench of these Compies was getting to him, and their stench had grown stronger after he tired them out.
When he saw a couple of them panting, heaving out this horrid dry air, he felt as if he was slapped on the face by the answer, and the stench, of course.
"Rulya, come down here!" He exclaimed, excited, and he stopped wasting his mana on the nerve endings. "Quickly!"
"No," She said, "I hate those things."
"Come down, please," He insisted, "I need you to smell something."
It took some convincing, but Rulya did eventually climb down. She wanted to be cured, after all, and got excited over the idea that she could help find the cure.
"Sit down, and smell its mouth," He said, "Tell me if it smells familiar."
Rulya was hesitant, because she didn't want to get her nose bitten off, but she gathered the courage, and crouched down just a little bit, enough to get a whiff of the Compy's breath.
After two more whiffs, she jumped up as if she took a whiff of chlorine bleach! It was a sharp odor, one that she would've hoped to avoid.
"Goodness," She held her nose, "Yes, that's it. My chest feels weird, so… you know?"
"Yes, it got you horny, don't be so shy and cheer up!" He exclaimed, "That's where the sexy smell comes from! Haha!"
Jimmy hugged Rulya in excitement. He almost tossed her like he did with the Compies, she was light weight, but thankfully he remembered she was a human.
"Sorry," He said, and let her go, "I just excited about not being fucked in the ass by random men."
"It's alright," She said, and straightened her fur clothes. "Can you fix me now? Its breath… did things to me."
"Oh, right." He blurted. "Let me give it a shot."
Afterwards, he picked out one of the Compies, and focused his magic on them. He still didn't know how to fix the 'horny disease' specifically, but at least now he knew where to look.
Contrary to what intuition might hint at, he didn't have to tamper with the Compy's respiratory system. He couldn't stop tamed dinosaurs from breathing, so he went right past that, and started studying its brain.
To his luck, Compies didn't have much of a brain to begin with. Their brains were truly pea sized, and not so complex, so he studied the entirety of its brain within a minute, and found the culprit.
"There you are," He sighed in relief.
Jimmy's eyes were closed as he visualized its brain, and this was the best way for him to concentrate. He could see every brain lobe, every inch of brain fat within the lobes, and he could even see which nerve was attached where along the bottom of the brain. Not a single detail could slip away from him, thanks to how limited the Compy's brain was.
The culprit was the brain itself. For some reason, the brain of any dinosaur he tamed, was so loyal to its master, in this case, to Jimmy, to the point where they even encourage reproductive dominance, the type that would help its master spread his seed across these dangerous lands!
The hormone addling smell was produced, and hidden within the tamed dinosaur's normal breath, so it was nearly impossible to detect, but it was there. It was almost odorless, but since Rulya took a strong whiff a moment ago, she mistook the Compy's horrid breath as the disease itself.
Rulya wasn't exactly wrong, especially considering how aroused she was afterwards, but she hadn't pin-pointed the exact smell. She had likely mistaken it with Gutaxun's, or her own pet's stronger odor, since she had smelled them for over twelve hours now. Dinosaur breaths blended in after a while, they all smelled the same to humans.
Anyway, Jimmy destroyed this cognitive command within the Compy's mind, and then pulled out from its brain. Thankfully, he didn't kill it, the Compy was fine, as he had gotten quite good at altering, or changing dinosaur brains all together over the past couple of days. A simple, precise change hardly had the chance to cripple, or kill a dinosaur.
"Fixed it," He sighed, and then he pointed, "Smell it now, smell that fucker."
