The man continued laughing, "You really think I'd tell you that?" He pointed at Celrean laughing hysterically before continuing, "That's something that man's been trying to do for long, but failed." The man said,
"Then dream on," the man continued on, "There have been a vow: if any of us turned vampires dares open our mouth, we will go up in flames."
The man said, while gesturing with his hands, "Whooooossshhh!" He drawled the word.
"And besides, there's no way we would turn backs on the very person who gave us a second chance in live…" he paused, "Well, you see, we were already at death's door when an angel brought us back to life. How can we dare betray them? So, you're just wasting your time. It would be better if you kill us." The man finally finished.
Eiravyn merely said, "Interesting!" While he ran his tongue over his fangs. He noticed the man always referred to the person who turned him as "them", and that meant they were more than two people.
"Oh, don't act so mighty. You're a half-breed like us, stop acting so damn arrogant and wipe that smirk off your face."
Eiravyn smiled calmly. "We shall see about that."
He turned to Celrean. "Where is the key to this cell?" Eiravyn asked his royal commander.
"Here it is, Your Majesty." Celrean brought out a bundle of keys from his knight pocket.
Eiravyn accepted the keys and opened the door. He strolled into the cell leisurely, his steps fluid and firm. The air around him grew heavy. Eiravyn turned to the man, his aura different.
"Now, this is your last chance. Who turned you into a vampires?" Eiravyn asked again, his tone bland, his eyes glaring straight into the man's eyes. A clear warning in them.
"I already told you, we can't tell you anything more t…" Eiravyn did not wait for him to finish. In the next moment, his eyes lit up in a silver light, and his whole form glow with a bright blue and purple light.
The smile faltered on the man's face immediately when he saw Eiravyn's form start changing color. "What the hell!" He yelled. Celrean turned to look at him coldly before turning away.
Christian, who was currently leaning against he wall, sat up properly.
"But… they did not tell us about this?" Christian finally said, as he took a step backwards.
Eiravyn didn't waste time talking to the annoying peasant of a man since he didn't seem to want to cooperate anyways. He immediately delve into the man's mind to uncover his secrets.
His mind set on a few questions: Who turned them into vampires? Who was involved in this scheme? And what were they doing in the territory of his kingdom?"
With these questions in mind, Eiravyn now walked inside the man's mind. There were so many doors in the man's memory; Eiravyn walked past the doors, focused on the ones dated few months ago. When he suddenly opened one door, he saw a snippets of memory of the day the man died. His name was written close to his dead body: "Aden". Time of death: "Monday, 15 march 2024." And he died in a car accident in the human realm, Eiravyn didn't wait to see how he died.
Instead, he fast-forwarded the memory to when he was turned into a vampire. However, the next memory after the scene of his death was blank and looked distorted. Eiravyn tried again, but it was still the same result. He was shut out of the memory, and every other memory was the same — almost like someone was using magic to block him, or the man in question hadn't really seen the face of his sire.
Eiravyn walked through some other memory doors closer to the dates before he was captured by his knights, and when he opened the door to that memory, the scene of the memory started to distort like static. Snow flooded the screen, lines scrambled and wiggled wildly, sounds stuttered and became white noise, screen flickered, then… black.
Eiravyn came out of the memory with clenched teeth. Staying too long in someone else's mind can render the person useless, or in a vegetable state. Not that he really cared about the man, Eiravyn still wanted to torture him for some time.
This can only mean one thing Eiravyn thought to himself as he turned to look at the man, his eyes sharp and the glow and light in his form vanished.
"It seems you're useless, you're just one of their servants." He muttered with a twitch in his voice before turning to Christian.
Eiravyn did not bother talking to the man. He went straight to his mind, and the same procedure repeated. only this time, it was slightly different compared to the other turned vampire. This one appeared to be turned a little while longer. And when he got to one part of his memory, he saw two hundred soldiers training, which he could guess were all turned vampires who were once humans. After that scene, Eiravyn saw Christian bowing to someone who was seated on an iron throne. The person had on a long black robe and his whole face was covered in a black mask. After that scene, the rest of the conversation turned distorted like the way it was with Aden.
Eiravyn smirked. "Interesting!" He thought in his mind before coming out, it seemed the person in charge of this operation was quite smart. He wasn't sure about who it was, but one thing he knew for a fact was that a witch was involved in this plot. His only problem was who was the witch in charge of wiping the vampires' memories? And how many witches were involved? Eiravyn couldn't tell if the person was a man or a woman. And where was their base?
Eiravyn turned to Celrean, with a single nod from his liege, Celrean understood what he was expected to do.
Two knights came into the room. They dragged the turned vampire, Aden out of the room, leaving behind Christian, Aden's bloods immediately drained out of his face, since he had been in this room, he had been subjected to all kinds of punishment but right now he was not sure what his fate was. Witnessing Eiravyn show his powers few minutes ago, he started screaming and thrashing,
"Please let me go now… I really don't know anything, I just did what I was asked to do." Aden pleaded with the knights.
"Then you shouldn't have acted so haughty and get in my king bad book." One knight responded with a snarl. Aden's yelling voice echoed round the dungeon before eventually fading away as they dragged him out of the cell to another cell.
However…
Eiravyn smiled an unnerving smile at Christian. "It seemed you have an upper hand even though your memory was also distorted."
"Let's get this over with huh?" Eiravyn smirked, his expression plain, Christian gulped worriedly, wondering what they would do to him.
Rafal brought in a black iron throne with spikes and placed it in front of the prisoner for Eiravyn to sit down.
Eiravyn sat down majestically and turned to Christian — a series of tools were on a desk that was in the cell room.
"Now, I don't like repeating my self but for you I will." Eiravyn said with a sly smile, that didn't reach his eyes. "Who's in charge of you turned vampires?" He asked while stroking the man's face with his glove hands like he was looking for the perfect spot to deliver a fatal blow.
Christian shivered in his spot and almost pissed in his pants at the look on Eiravyn's face, the king didn't look normal, he thought in his mind.
"I-I… don't know… I was only instructed to spy on you, bu-but we never got the chance to get close to you before we were caught by your knight." The man stuttered.
"Of course I know that, but you're yet to answer my question, your time's ticking boy." Eiravyn said while he made a gesture with his mouth, "Tick… tock… tick… tock."
"I really don't know I swear, i never saw their face."
"Wrong answer again…" this time Eiravyn took the man's fingers in his hands. He picked a nail cutter from the tools on full display and, without warning, Eiravyn forcefully removed one of the man's fingernails harshly, making him yell in pain.
The man's screams echoed round the dungeon.
"Easy there, we just got started you better start talking, we still have nine more fingers to go.
Christian yelled, "I really don't know, I'm only a guard there." He said again, when the pain subsided.
"Another wrong answer." Eiravyn said, the man closed his eyes, expecting Eiravyn to remove his second finger.
However, Eiravyn's had other plan. He reached for a finger uprooter and placed the man's finger he had just removed earlier. Christian realized it a little too late when he saw what Eiravyn was about to do, and in the next minute, Eiravyn chopped off all five of his fingers.
"Splash!" The man's blood splashed all over Eiravyn's face, and his fingers rolled off to the ground with a low thud sound.
