Hellbound With The Vampire King

Chapter 85: Fear Of Loosing Mate

When the call ended, Ava walked around the room, wondering what her fate would be now.

She could not just sit still and watched her role snatched rights out of her hands after years of preparing, all her friends would laugh at her. She had to act now and fast while things weren't out, Ava thought to herself.

With the banquet happening tonight, she didn't want to be the laughingstock so she had to seize this opportunity. She was sure Eiravyn would not go extreme on her; if he wanted to punish her, yes he would be angry, but what else could he do?

She was there by his side when he was first crowned king and was faced with criticism from the high-ranking ministers and lord. She was the one who stood by his side. Where was that other girl when she had to sneak in food for him? Where was she? She had rejected all her suitors coming to ask for her hand in marriage because she had waited for Eiravyn to give up the idea of waiting for his mate.

Ava picked up her phone and called Lila, her spy in the royal house, a maid there.

She paced around her room as she waited for the maid to come, thinking of plans to set in place before the banquet.

After some minutes, her bedroom door was pulled open and she saw Lila walking in, the girl started undressing when she entered the room, thinking Ava needed her blood.

Ava stopped her. "I didn't call you here for that, and you know we can't do that here in the royal house."

"I thought…" Lila's words were cut off by Ava as she continued pacing around the room.

"Why didn't you tell me that the human was staying in the king's quarters?" Ava questioned.

"Lady Ava, I told you, maybe you didn't hear me, I'm sorry. It won't happen again." Lila bowed her head in submission.

It was not that Ava had any aura or anything, it was just her siren ability she used to make everybody bow down to her. But there are some people that her ability could not work on. People who had strong mind and are strong willed, someone like the king and some other people.

After pacing around the room for some time, Ava finally said, "No need, I want you to do something for me."

She turned to a stop and turned her back to Lila. "I noticed that King Eiravyn was very annoyed with the servants who were assigned to that human and I think he would not want them to take care of her anymore," Ava paused, as her lips lifted to form a wicked smile.

"And that's where you come in, I want you to volunteer to be her maid, even if it's just for today." said Ava, she turned to her front and leaned down to whisper something in the maid's ear. Lila's eyes turned wide as a saucer when she heard what Ava wanted her to do before she finally nodded and left the room.

The walk back to Serena's room was quiet and peaceful after Caspian had interrupted them earlier.

Serena kept assuring Eiravyn that she was fine and that he can go to the royal court now but Eiravyn refused to listen to her.

After the last hour's call to find Serena, he wanted to make sure every thought she had in her mind of leaving him was totally removed before he would be able to have peace of mind again.

He just couldn't believe a girl like Serena could disappear out of his side so easily. Now he was she was not human, he was clade. What if she had powers to disappear on him every time he made her angry. Eiravyn thought that his life would be miserable.

He couldn't lie but he was still shaken up, as the image of the soul thread replayed in his mind of how Serena tried to cut him off. What if she had succeeded? Then he would be left to face the pain of being rejected by his mate who he had been searching for more than a decade now.

He would have to make sure she starts fearing him from now on, Eiravyn thought to himself. So she would never have the idea to think of running away from him ever again.

When they entered Serena's room, Eiravyn turned to Serena, as he ushered her into the room himself.

"Your servants would be changed from henceforth and a new maid will be assigned to you." Eiravyn said.

"No need! I like the twins better," came the quick reply that had him smile, a smile that scared her the most.

Serena took a step back when he came close to her. It didn't stop him from cornering her, and her back hit the wall behind her. Serena noticed that Eiravyn was acting strange, he normally was not like this. He raised his hand toward her face, and she closed her eyes scared. She shivered when his fingers trailed down from her temple and jaw and neck. Her red hair was left open.

"You will do as you are told from now on, Kitten, I don't want you running on me ever again." Serena heard him say, she didn't answer him, not knowing what had triggered the king who had always been gentle with her.

He stepped closer that had her turn her face away from him and his words vibrated on the skin of her neck.

"Promise me, you would never leave me."

Serena turned back to look at him, she saw that his eyes was hardened with maybe tension, she didn't know but all that she knew was that this was the first time Eiravyn was showing this side of himself to her. Serena looked at his eyes, and saw that it was flickering between red and gold, before eventually shifting to red, there was a gold slits in his red eyes, that was shaped like a dragon.
