Medic Martial Dragon King

Chapter 1988: Arrival in the Void Nether Realm

Molten Fire Town is the only town within a hundred miles, and all the villages within a thousand miles are under its rule.

As the ruling town of a thousand-mile territory, it is guarded by a powerful cultivator of the Divine Infant Realm, something ordinary people have never seen before.

The town is named for its connection to Earth Fire, but the Earth Fire here is somewhat unstable and unsuitable for alchemy; thus, it hasn't attracted Pill Masters, and due to the conditions, crops find it difficult to grow, rendering the surrounding thousand miles rather barren.

Three years ago, the entire family of Molten Fire Town's ruler was murdered overnight. The four major families of the town covered up the incident, paying homage to a Divine Infant Realm cultivator who had arrived in Molten Fire Town three years prior.

Since then, Molten Fire Town has fallen into the hands of the four major families within the town.

"Stop, get down for inspection!"

A carriage approaching from outside the town was stopped at the east gate by two young men.

The gates of Molten Fire Town are monopolized by the four families, and anyone entering is subject to exploitation.

"Brothers, we're relatives of the Lin Family, please grant us some leniency."

Fu Bo jumped down from the front compartment, took a piece of broken silver from his garment and slipped it into one young man's hand.

The young man was delighted, subtly sliding the silver piece into his own pocket.

Guarding here for a day barely earns them a few copper coins, so obtaining a piece of silver unexpectedly made the young man overjoyed.

"Alright, relatives of the Lin Family, huh? No need for inspection then, go on in!"

The young man waved his hand and opened the way.

"Thank you, thank you very much!"

Fu Bo cupped his hands in gratitude, turning back to the carriage, driving it into Molten Fire City.

The entire Molten Fire City was unbearably hot, the breeze carrying a sweltering heat, and as soon as they entered, a wave of heat surged into the carriage through the gaps in the curtain.

Hmm?

A sleepy murmur sounded as Jiang Chen frowned slightly and opened his eyes.

Fire Path?

Jiang Chen thought to himself, where was he? Wasn't he supposed to be trapped in a collapsing space? How could there be an aura of the Fire Path?

Even though the Great Dao Aura was faint, Jiang Chen still sensed it.

"You're awake!"

A gentle voice sounded, and Jiang Chen blinked and turned his head towards the source.

He then noticed he was lying inside a carriage, and the two women inside were dressed in ancient-style clothes.

"Hello, I... um!"

Jiang Chen softly began to speak, intending to rise, but a wave of weakness and pain forced him back down, with a muffled groan.

"Don't move, all your bones are broken. I just set them a couple of days ago, you need to rest well and avoid any movements that might reopen your wounds!"

The woman gently cautioned.

"Was it you who saved me?"

Jiang Chen softly asked.

"Of course, who else could it be? Our young lady was benevolent enough to help, otherwise you would have died in the woods!"

A crisp voice sounded as Xiao Huan wrinkled her nose, speaking lightly with a touch of reproach, "And our young lady had to look after you. She's always been the one being cared for, never the caretaker!"

"Xiao Huan!"

The woman called out, giving Xiao Huan a glare before looking down at Jiang Chen, "How are you feeling?"

"Alright!"

Jiang Chen lightly shook his head, gratefully looking at the woman, "Thank you for saving me. I'm Jiang Chen, and you are?"

"I'm Lin Yuyan."

The woman quietly replied.

"Miss Lin, are you going to... a film set?"

Jiang Chen glanced between the two of them, looked at the carriage, and then at his own attire. He was currently wearing a gray-green long robe.

"A film set? Making a film?"

Lin Yuyan asked in surprise.

"Hey, what do you take us for? We're not a theater troupe!"

Xiao Huan gave Jiang Chen a disapproving look.

Theater troupe...

Jiang Chen lightly furrowed his brows, scrutinizing Lin Yuyan and Xiao Huan a few times and looking around.

When the two women's eyes began to reveal dissatisfaction, Jiang Chen's eyes suddenly shifted, softly saying, "Sorry, I've been training in the mountains for years and was attacked by bandits upon descending, not really knowing where this is. Could you explain a bit?"

"This is Molten Fire Town, part of Fenglin City. Which town are you from? Training in the mountains, are you a cultivator? Why do you seem to lack any power?"

Lin Yuyan gently explained, looking at Jiang Chen with confusion.

Fenglin City? Molten Fire Town?

Jiang Chen looked at Lin Yuyan with a blank expression, suddenly realizing something, hesitantly saying, "Is this... Origin Continent?"

"Origin Continent? Could you be from Origin Continent?"

Lin Yuyan exclaimed in surprise, suddenly feeling improper, covering her opened small mouth with her hand.

"Hmph! Stop trying to deceive people! To cross continents, you'd have to be in the Unity Realm Stage according to the Great Dao legends, or ride a large intercontinental teleportation array. Are you a Unity Realm powerhouse, or did you come via a teleportation array?"

Xiao Huan looked at Jiang Chen with disdain.

Jiang Chen's expression subtly changed; based on their reactions, could this be the Void Nether?

I'm actually in the Void Nether? How could this happen? Could it be that Lu Daming pierced through space and brought me here?

No, wait!

Hu Zi entered the space with me, and Jing Yi and Ying Zi seemed to have come in too!

"Miss Lin, did you see my friends when you found me?"

Jiang Chen asked urgently, looking at Lin Yuyan filled with hope.

"Friends? No, there was only you!"

Lin Yuyan lightly shook her head.

Jiang Chen's face changed dramatically, his brows knit tightly.

Not here? Could it be they... it can't be! They couldn't have perished! They must have been separated when we arrived, I must find them!

Crack!

"Ah!"

In his anxiety, Jiang Chen's body moved, trying to sit up, but he had forgotten his body was still severely injured. As he moved, the sound of breaking bones echoed, and Jiang Chen cried out, falling back into the carriage.

"Hey! Don't move!"

Lin Yuyan called out anxiously, pressing Jiang Chen back down, "Your bones are just set, they're very fragile, don't move!"

"I..."

Jiang Chen took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

No, wait! My power...

His heart suddenly trembled, and Jiang Chen quickly closed his eyes to perceive inside.

Within his Sea of Consciousness, a thumb-sized small Jiang Chen was in slumber, containing a vast Soul Force within his body, with a small sword floating beside the Divine Soul, along with two elixirs wrapped in Martial Soul power.

These are... the two Enlightenment Pills I refined?

Jiang Chen was puzzled for a moment, why were these elixirs here? They were imbued with Martial Soul power; oh, I remember, Lord Ancestral Dragon's dragon shadow was still present when I lost consciousness. He probably wanted me to quickly enhance my strength, so he used the Martial Soul power to preserve them here, right?

That must be the explanation!

Jiang Chen had never imagined that a True Dragon Martial Spirit could have consciousness, something he hadn't dared to think of. Martial Souls come into being with a cultivator, arising from the combination of internal strength and soul, acting as auxiliary energy. They're merely energy; how could they have consciousness?
