Medic Martial Dragon King

Chapter 2012: Sharp-Eyed

Fenglin City Yue Lai Restaurant.

A young man dressed in white sat by the window on the fourth floor of the restaurant. The youth wore a bamboo hat that covered most of his face, but from the exposed part, one could see some stubble and a terrifying scar.

On his table, there was a spiritual longsword on the left, a plate of exquisite snacks in the middle, and a pot of wine with a wine glass in front of him.

The wine in the glass remained untouched, as the youth seemed to be contemplating something without drinking.

To others, the youth appeared to be thinking, but beneath the hat, his eyes were fully focused on one direction outside the window.

That direction was the location of the City Lord's Mansion, and from where the youth was sitting, he could see the entrance.

Suddenly, the youth raised an eyebrow, as several figures walked out from the City Lord's Mansion, heading east with thirty young men waiting at the entrance.

"Kill! Kill him for me! Grind his bones to dust!"

Not long after the thirty people departed, an angry roar resounded from the City Lord's Mansion, echoing throughout half of Fenglin City.

"This is… the City Lord?"

"That's the City Lord; the voice came from the City Lord's Mansion!"

"Who pissed off the City Lord?"

"No idea, but someone's in for a bad time again!"

The restaurant guests turned to look toward the City Lord's Mansion, whispering among themselves.

Buzz buzz buzz!

A powerful aura emanated from the direction of the City Lord's Mansion, and eight figures flew out, rapidly heading in all directions.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Immediately following, over a hundred figures rose from the City Lord's Mansion, pursuing the eight individuals.

"Wow! Aren't those the eight Void Refinement enforcers of the City Lord's Mansion? I didn't expect even they would come out!"

"What's happening? Eight Void Refinement enforcers, over a hundred Late Divine Infant Realm City Guard Army—all deployed; this is the elite force of the City Lord!"

"Something big must have happened!"

"Better keep a low profile lately, don't provoke the City Lord during this critical period!"

The restaurant patrons were taken aback.

"I didn't expect the City Lord's Mansion to have so many powerful figures—eight Void Refinement enforcers—and this is just a border city of Shenmu Prefecture. How many strong figures does Shenmu Prefecture have? The entire Canglan Continent? The whole Void Nether Realm?"

The young man by the window murmured softly, his eyes showing a determined look: "No matter what, I have to quickly enhance my strength. Only with stronger power can I have more chances to find Jing Yi and the others, and can find the way back."

This young man was Jiang Chen!

After leaving the northern suburban forest, Jiang Chen did not stray far; instead, he returned to Fenglin City. The most dangerous place is the safest; the City Lord of Fenglin City would never expect him to dare return after killing his son.

Thump thump thump!

The sound of footsteps arose as a stern young man led a drunken elder to the fourth floor.

"Kid, the guy you're keeping an eye on is in trouble!"

The elder mumbled as he walked.

"I hope he can escape; he gave me a very unusual feeling. If he can survive this, Fenglin City might be in trouble."

The stern young man said softly.

"You think so highly of him?"

The elder glanced at the young man in surprise; he knew how proud his disciple was internally. At twenty-six years old, he reached Late Divine Infant Realm, becoming the undisputed leader among young people at the academy, and those he praised were few and far between.

"Of course, this guy isn't just a Soul Warrior; he even single-handedly killed…"

The youth suddenly paused, his eyes widened, staring directly at the white-clad figure sitting by the window.

"What happened?"

The elder asked in confusion, following the young man's gaze and raising an eyebrow: "Oh, a lad practicing Soul Martial, hmm… let me see."

Buzz!

A mysterious wave emanated from the elder, probing toward Jiang Chen by the window.

"Wow, Semi Divine Infant Realm, this... hmm?"

The elder suddenly stopped speaking, looking at Yun Tao in front of him in surprise.

Sigh!

Yun Tao exhaled, stepped over to Jiang Chen's table, and sat opposite Jiang Chen: "You're bold, aren't you!"

The elder followed Yun Tao to Jiang Chen's side and sat down. Looking over, he couldn't help but be shocked.

This time Jiang Chen had disguised himself, not only sporting stubble but also a fierce scar running from the corner of his eye to his ear on the left cheek, and a blood-red birthmark on his right cheek—certainly an appearance that would make one never want to look again.

"This disguise is disgustingly effective!"

The elder grimaced, took a sip from the gourd at his waist to steady his nerves.

"Are you here to catch me?"

Jiang Chen looked calmly at Yun Tao, without a hint of guard.

Yun Tao sneered: "What if I said yes?"

"Then I can only resign to fate."

Jiang Chen's tone remained calm.

"Oh? You've accepted your fate just like that?"

Yun Tao's eyes flashed with surprise.

Jiang Chen glanced at the elder beside him, speaking softly: "I can't escape this senior's capture. No, I should say, with this senior present, I don't even have a chance to escape."

"Wow, you've got a good eye!"

The elder smiled at Jiang Chen and then quickly turned his head away in disdain: "Looking at your face makes me lose my appetite!"

Jiang Chen smiled slightly; this elder had a straightforward personality, not pretentious at all.

"Don't worry, I'm not here to catch you!"

Yun Tao spoke softly.

"I know."

"You're so confident I won't catch you?"

"No hostility."

Seeing Jiang Chen's confident expression, Yun Tao helplessly shook his head: "You're becoming more and more intriguing."

"Since you're not here to catch me, I'll be leaving now."

Jiang Chen stood up, cupping his fists.

"Leaving so soon? Aren't you afraid of running into those people?"

Yun Tao asked Jiang Chen curiously.

"They're not fools; once they search a certain distance, they'll realize I might not have left. By leaving now, I'll be ahead of their return, and by the time they finish searching Fenglin City and return to find me, I should have already left the city's boundaries!"

Jiang Chen said with a light smile.

"You've got quite the knack for understanding people's minds."

The elder shot Jiang Chen a sideways glance.

"I don't like understanding people's minds; it's exhausting, but reality forces me to do so!"

Jiang Chen's eyes flickered with a trace of nostalgia: "Why is life never peaceful?"

At this moment, an air of desolation emanated from Jiang Chen.

The elder was slightly taken aback, an intrigued look appearing in his eyes—he saw from Jiang Chen's eyes that this was a man with a story.

The aura enveloping Jiang Chen was not feigned, and the desolation made the elder feel as if he were standing not before a young man in his twenties but an ancient relic that had lived through an era!
