Char's complexion shifted subtly as he looked at Su Yun with complex eyes and waved to the two squads of gunmen beside him.

"Dr. Su, who is he?" Char glanced at Jiang Chen again and asked softly.

Without answering Char's question, Su Yun looked around and said with confusion, "Where's Dr. Gang Ben? Isn't it his duty as a Paladin Knight to be in the laboratory at this time? And he asked someone to call me over just a moment ago?"

"Dr. Gang Ben went to the data room. There has been a new discovery in the experiment, so he went to get some materials and asked for you to come over to discuss the next steps of the experiment," Char replied softly.

Char chuckled and said, "Dr. Su, is there really a need to be so serious? The reason why a Paladin Knight must oversee the laboratory is to be on guard against someone breaking in to cause destruction. But with the lab being so secure and so many Fallen Angels Mercenary Corps guarding above, how could anyone possibly break in?"

"Do you think it's impossible?" Su Yun asked, his eyes filled with deeper meaning.

With an indifferent look, Char said, "Impossible!"

"If someone really did get in, do you think just you, a Great Knight, and these two squads of Three-Star Knights could fend them off?" Su Yun once again rebuked.

Jiang Chen's heart stirred. Is this all the protection they have?

Jiang Chen had sensed the protective forces when he entered and knew these were all they had, but he was worried there were people injected with the No. 2 Gene Potion here, which was why he didn't act immediately. Now that Su Yun had brought it up, then...

Jiang Chen bellowed, turning to look at Su Yun and urgently said, "The potion samples!"

Jiang Chen looked up and saw three blood-red reagents housed in petri dishes inside a storage container.

A man in a hazmat suit turned pale upon hearing this and quickly pulled out a handgun, turning to shoot at the petri dishes.

"Die!" Jiang Chen's eyes turned cold as he barked, his figure flashing in front of the man, sabre swinging down!

Whoosh!

Thud!

The man was instantly cleaved in two by Jiang Chen.

"Ah!"

A wave of panicked voices erupted as everyone in the laboratory scrambled towards the door.

Ratatatata!

A burst of gunfire sounded; Su Yun picked up a submachine gun dropped by the guards and pulled the trigger mercilessly into the crowd.

Jiang Chen watched this scene in astonishment, his brows tightly furrowed, not stopping Su Yun but his gaze filled with a wary intent.

"They've all been completely assimilated by the Blood Blade Sect; there's no saving them!" Having slain everyone in the laboratory, Su Yun noticed Jiang Chen's expression and hurriedly explained.

Jiang Chen said nothing, giving Su Yun a deep, long look before turning to the cultivation tank and asking indifferently, "How do we open this?"

"I'll do it!" Su Yun stepped forward quickly, entering a string of commands into a nearby device.

A crisp sound was followed by the appearance of a row of small holes at the bottom of the cultivation tank, and the culture fluid inside swiftly drained out.

Jiang Chen pressed the button, and the casing at the center of the storage container split to the sides, revealing a slot.

"How come there's only..." Jiang Chen started to ask when Su Yun handed him two more containers.

The two placed the potions into the containers, and Jiang Chen took all three and slung them over his shoulder.

Su Yun paused briefly, a flash in his eyes, but said nothing.

"Sorry, but judging from what happened, you've concealed some things; I can't fully trust you," Jiang Chen stated bluntly.

Su Yun nodded slightly: "I understand."

"Let's go, to the data room," Jiang Chen said with a nod, striding toward the laboratory's door.

"Hey, this way," Su Yun called out, pointing to the passageway leading to the locker room.

Jiang Chen realized that leaving through the main door would mean encountering the guards, so exiting through the locker room would be safer.

Just as they were about to enter the passageway, Jiang Chen suddenly stopped, speaking softly, "Where is the self-destruct mechanism for this place?"

Su Yun's body jerked, and he turned to look at Jiang Chen in astonishment: "What are you planning to do? You want to destroy this place?"

"What do you think? Do you think I came here just to steal potions?" Jiang Chen asked coolly.

"If you destroy this place, the Blood Blade Sect will go mad. They probably have other research bases, but definitely not many. Each one is precious to them. If you destroy this, not to mention the distant consequences, the Fallen Angels Mercenary Corps stationed here will hunt you down to the death. With just the two of you, how could you possibly face off against thousands?" Su Yun urged anxiously.
