Medic Martial Dragon King

Chapter 687: Reminder_1

On a flight to Jincheng.

"Jing Yi, why must we take a flight?" Jiang Chen looked at Ye Jingyi helplessly. The drive from Jinhai to Jincheng was only a few hours, whereas taking a plane was just half an hour. This...

"Jiang Chen, this time you are returning in the capacity of the Jiang Family's legitimate first grandson. There are certain appearances we need to maintain. If we had driven over, how would the Jiang family welcome us? Taking a flight, the Jiang family can meet us outside the airport. It's a way to inform all the major families in Jincheng that the Jiang family's legitimate first grandson has officially been welcomed back to the family!" Ye Jingyi explained softly.

"Is there such a protocol?" Jiang Chen asked, surprised.

Ye Jingyi, smiling, said, "You have never lived in the family, so you don't really understand these things. Sometimes, very simple matters have to be made complicated in front of the family. And... from what you told me about the Jiang Family Head, once you return to the family, you will likely face some difficulties."

Jiang Chen smiled faintly, an ambiguous expression in his eyes.

"Jiang Chen, don't take it lightly. The waters in a big family run deep," Ye Jingyi said, a note of concern in her voice.

"Don't worry, I understand."

Jiang Chen flashed a slight smile, a trace of cold light in his eyes: "It's just that, no matter how they target me, I will take it. Just as long as they don't touch you. If they dare to touch the people around me, all their damn rules and underlying principles will have to step aside!"

The conversation between Jiang Chen and the other was soft, but it was still overheard by some people in the nearby seats.

Sitting nearby was an elderly man and a beautiful young lady. Across them sat two lean men in black suits.

"Grandpa, is that the legendary legitimate first grandson of the Jiang family?" The young lady glanced at Jiang Chen and asked in a low voice.

The elderly man gestured for her to be quiet, nodding with a light chuckle.

The two men in black turned their heads to look at Jiang Chen, a mocking light in their eyes.

"Mr. Jiang, there's killing intent," said Leng Ye, who was sitting across from Ye Jingyi by the window, originally feigning sleep, but suddenly he opened his eyes and spoke softly.

Jiang Chen was slightly startled. A subtle aura spread throughout the cabin. After sensing it, he frowned slightly. In this cabin, there were actually two Innate Grandmasters. Yet, he hadn't felt any killing intent, which made him look at Leng Ye with confusion.

"Mr. Jiang, I have been trained in assassination techniques since childhood, and our clan is particularly sensitive to killing intent!" Leng Ye clarified upon seeing the look in Jiang Chen's eyes, speaking softly.

Jiang Chen nodded slightly and asked quietly, "Can you sense who the target of the killing intent is?"

"It should be the old man sitting next to you!" Leng Ye glanced at the old man sitting next to Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen and the old man were separated by just an aisle, both seated by it.

After glancing at the old man, Jiang Chen was slightly taken aback.

The elderly man had a kind face, and anyone's first impression would be that of a genial next-door grandfather. However, Jiang Chen sensed that the man exuded an aura of a superior, and though it was discreet, it was undoubtedly profound. This was someone long accustomed to commanding from a high position!

Turning his head for another look at the old man, the young lady, and the men in black, Jiang Chen had some guesses in his mind.

The woman beside the old man was a Profound Martial Artist, whereas the two men opposite them were Semi Innate Grand Masters. Judging by the men's posture, they should be from the military.

Based on Jiang Chen's understanding, those in the military with such strength belonged to only two departments: one was a mysterious unit that even Shen Xiangtian couldn't mention, and the other was the defense force that Jincheng's elders were a part of, the Flame Dragon Security Bureau. The members of this force had another name: 'Flame Dragon Bodyguards'!

These individuals were mainly responsible for the safety of the few elders at the pinnacle of the Flame Dragon Kingdom. With this thought, Jiang Chen could ascertain the old man's identity—he was likely one of those nine elders.

"Ah! Is it even possible to have any unpleasant incidents on such a short trip from Jinhai to Jincheng? It's ridiculous, knowing that Jincheng is a whirlpool of trouble, but to experience a life and death situation on a plane? What's going on!"

Noticing that the two Flame Dragon Bodyguards had seen his glance, Jiang Chen deliberately stared at one as if casually speaking.

The Flame Dragon Bodyguard's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he took a deep look at Jiang Chen.

"Ah, a tiny cabin, and yet there are two Innate Grandmasters. What's going on? When did Innate Grandmasters become as common as cabbages?"

Jiang Chen spoke again, but this time he lowered his voice slightly and uttered these words loud enough for only the man watching him to hear, then looked unintentionally at the old man.

The Flame Dragon Bodyguard felt a jolt in his heart and his brows deeply furrowed.

"Ah, I hope no one's life is in danger, otherwise, this plane might even crash!" Jiang Chen spoke once more, glancing around the airplane cabin, pausing briefly over two short middle-aged men.

The face of the Flame Dragon Bodyguard changed completely, turning to look at the spot where Jiang Chen's gaze had rested, and in a low, steely voice, he said, "Some things, you just can't say carelessly!"

"I'm someone who likes many things, but lying isn't one of them. I've just come out of the military and thought I'd encountered a colleague, so I wanted to help. Don't overthink it," Jiang Chen turned to look out of the window, speaking softly.

At the same time, he swiftly pulled out his Long Ya Chief Instructor credential from his backpack, gave it a quick flash, and put it back.

He dared not approach the two Innate Grandmasters directly, because the power of an Innate Grandmaster was too terrifying. If they were to fight here, the plane might get damaged, and once damaged, he couldn't guarantee the safety of all the passengers on board.

"Brother Li Zhen, what's going on? What are you guys talking about?" The woman gave Jiang Chen a look and asked the Flame Dragon Bodyguard who was speaking with Jiang Chen, somewhat puzzled.

Li Zhen took a deep look at Jiang Chen and spoke in a low voice, "Miss Song, after we land, let's not go shopping. We'll head straight home."

"Why?" The woman asked, sounding a bit displeased.

"Listen to Little Li," the old man said indifferently, turning his head to look at Jiang Chen and gave a slight nod with a smile.

Jiang Chen hurriedly responded to the old man. This man could very well be one of those nine elders, and Jiang Chen held great respect for these elders who had dedicated their lives to the Flame Dragon Kingdom.

Afterwards, everyone fell silent until the plane arrived at Jincheng Airport.

Rumble rumble rumble...

The plane slowly landed, and Jiang Chen glanced at the two short middle-aged men, his eyes narrowing slightly. At this moment, he also sensed the intent to kill. Were they planning to make a move just as the plane was about to land?
