After the flash of light Elena found herself inside a white space. Soon a somewhat emotionless and cold voice sounded -

"Welcome challenger to the first trial, which is the trial of combat. Here you need to fight against many opponents to show your talent in the field of combat. There will be several stages with different numbers of opponents and with opponents with different realms. The more stages you can clear, the better reward you will be able to get. Best of luck."

As soon as the announcement ended five soldiers made of light appeared before Elena. They all were in the elementary cultivation rank and were just a little bit lower level than Elena's disguised power level.

While dodging all the attacks thrown at her Elena thought about how she should perform in this trial. Doing too well would be bad for her objective and doing bad was something Elena hated. So first to make up her mind Elena checked the detailed information about the trial using her abilities.

She found out that her results would not be announced to the public by the trial ground itself. Elena would get some proofs that would allow her to prove her accomplishments in the trial ground so it was fine to do her best and then reveal only as much as she felt comfortable with. So Elena decided to do her best.

The first few stages of the first trial were quite easy and Elena was able to win without much effort. But after the fifth stage it got a bit challenging. The opponents became stronger and their numbers also increased. This was the moment when many disciples would not be able to hold on.

But these levels were still no problem for Elena. To not cheat in this trial, Elena had very strictly restricted her powers to the level of an ordinary elementary cultivator and the skills she had access to were also something that a normal elementary cultivator would know. So Elena was trying to overcome the trials just using her combat experience and nothing more.

In this second trial which is also known as the trial of comprehension, you need to understand the technique written on the stelae and then you have to use that technique to create a new technique of your own. Your created technique will be judged by the trail ground and a score will be given to you. The better your score is, the better rewards you will get. Best of luck, challenger."

So, in the second trial, the comprehension of a person was checked. It was a very important thing for any one as having good comprehension was a must to learn techniques quickly and to get better at any skills.

But Elena was slightly troubled as she had no way to restrict herself in this round. Her comprehension had always been super good and even when she was a normal person on earth, Elena's natural comprehension level was higher than most if not all. She had never taken an IQ test but her parents always believed her IQ to be at least over 200, which was quite insane.

So Elena did not overcomplicate things and just created a decent new technique by using the written technique as the best and obviously her technique got the full score. She was once again given several pills and this time they mostly helped in calming the mind and in strengthening the soul.

But this trial gave a lot of focus to talent. To be honest, how much better a person could control the elemental energies mostly depended on that person's innate talent.
