While the girls were busy with their assignments, Elena was taking a stroll around the city. Suddenly she came across a scene of a few males chasing after a running female elf. The part of the city she was currently visiting was not a very safe one. So for the residents of this area, this was not a weird sight at all. They were very familiar with such scenes in these parts.

Elena silently hid her presence using some runes and started to watch over the situation from a rooftop. She did not move to immediately save the damsel in distress because the lady who was getting chased was quite powerful herself, so she might very well be fine without Elena's help. But still she decided to watch over her for some time as the men chasing her were also not too weak. So if she made some kind of mistake and found herself in peril, Elena could extend a helping hand whenever she needed.

After reaching a blocked alley, the lady stopped running and turned back around. She then took out a rapier and took a stance with it. Even though rapier was also a sword type weapon, Elena had not used it much herself and she had also seen very few people who were using it outside of a formal setting. This thin sword which was only useful for thrusting was extremely impractical in life and death battles. They were also very brittle and untrustworthy. So she was curious to see how this lady was going to use her rapier.

Seeing her readying her weapon, the men also took out theirs. There were a total of 7 men. Two of them were holding normal swords, one of them was holding a spear, two more were holding bows and the last two were holding daggers. After looking at the lady for some opening, all the men attacked her together from all sides so that she would not be able to escape.

The elvin lady moved very fast proving her strength and first knocked two arrows fired at her. Then she started to attack the men holding the daggers and tried to defeat them quickly by using the advantage that her long rapier gave her. She tried to avoid the spear user as much as possible and took on the swordsmen while using her speed advantage on them.

She was not really trying to defeat the men here. She was trying to find a weak point in their encirclement to try to run away. But the men's numbers advantage was proving to be too much for her. But still she was safe for the time being and the men were nowhere close enough to defeat her.

Seeing that they were in a stalemate, one of the sword wielding men took a drastic action. He charged at the lady without giving any attention to his defence. Very soon he found himself penetrated by the rapier. But he managed to move a little bit to avoid taking a fetal hit. So even though the rapier was inside him, he was not in any danger of dying.

This exposed one of the main weaknesses that a rapier had. If dodged properly, this weapons lethality was not very high. Not only that but now the lady elf found her rapier to be stuck inside this man and she was unable to pull out. Normally any run of the mill rapier would have already been broken but this one was holding on as it was made using a special metal. But this thing was completely useless for the time being.

Taking this chance, the other men attacked her immediately. Now the lady was helpless and she closed her eyes in resignation. But even after keeping her eyes closed for some time, she did not feel any pain. She could also feel that the tense atmosphere of the battle had not disappeared but had actually become even more tense.

She opened her eyes in confusion and saw a beautiful lady standing beside her. She was surrounded by various types of runes and her attackers were scared of getting close to her. This lady herself was a level 342 knight, but the assailants were more scared of this lower level lady than her. But this scene would make perfect sense if a somewhat knowledgeable person took a look at the runes surrounding this lady. All of them were extremely powerful runes capable of destroying anyone under level 400 easily. Obviously the men would be scared after seeing something like that.

After looking at each other's faces and giving each other some kind of silent signal, all the men took action at the same time. That dispersed in various directions and started to run away from the scene at full speed. But the girl surrounded by runes did not bat an eye and sent some of the runes flying toward those men.

These runes were extremely fast and were able to reach the men almost immediately. Then the rune turned into ropes to bind the running men. But two of the men used some kind of substitution technique to get out of the binding and were successful in running away. But the other five were a step too late and were caught.

After catching the five men and allowing two to run away, Elena looked back toward the lady who was just saved by her and said in a teasing tone -

"Not even giving a thank you after getting saved by me. How ungrateful."

Hearing her voice, the lady came out of her stupor and immediately started to thank Elena over and over again. She then introduced herself as Cremonia Freztria, a royal knight working directly under the royal knight captain and a personal guard of the second royal princess who was the direct descendant of the high elf who was ruling over this nation called Katylin Federation.

She came to this city to do an investigation mission. The Royal Knights were able to find that there was a slave trading group working in the criminal dark places of this nation. The knights had been working hard to find some clues about this group but they were unsuccessful for a long time. But just recently that managed to find a lead that pointed toward this city of Nigur to be an important base of the slave trading group and so Cremonia was sent here as an early scout.

She was able to follow the trail that the knight order found and she even managed to find a place that was most likely related to the traders. But at a critical moment, her concealment fluctuated a bit and her presence was compromised. She tried to get away from that place but seven of the men protecting her target followed behind her and started to chase her down. That was the situation in which Elena found Cremonia.

After telling this much she asked Elena of her identity. After knowing that she was an explorer, Cremonia bowed to her and requested for her help in this matter. Obviously she was making this an official request by going through the explorer office. After thinking about it for a bit Elena decided to accept this request as she also wanted to crush this slave trading group and it looked interesting.

So Elena also found herself in an adventurous situation.
