The next day, Elena met up with Tomoe early in the morning. She was just informed that Elena was going to enter the third floor of the secret realm and she was chosen to be her partner in this excursion. Tomoe was obviously very happy about it as she was wanting to enter the third floor for a long time but was never able to get the permission to do so.

Tomoe was a very beautiful girl. Her skin was also dark like the other elves of the village but it almost looked like she got tanned instead of this being her natural colour. She was extremely beautiful and was wearing very little clothing just like the other ladies of the village. Her boobs were not too big or not too small. She was holding her sword in her hand. All in all, after seeing her anyone would get the feeling that she was like a sharp sword.

After meeting up with Elena Tomoe bowed and reverently greeted her. Elena was someone who had mastered the art of sword and was very powerful, so she was worthy of Tomoe's respect. Elena also greeted her back and then told her about what she was planning to do there and what she wanted Tomoe to do inside the third floor of this secret realm.

From what Elena had witnessed, Tomoe was someone who would only improve if she was in an inferior position. She needed to be in a life and death battle against a powerful opponent, who could kill her immediately if she made any mistakes. It was not like Tomoe had not faced off against any S rank opponents in the last 10 years or so, but unfortunately none of them were strong enough to bring the best out of her and to allow her to improve.

According to Elena's observation, Tomoe needed to fight something with the power level of 310 plus to truly put Tomoe in great danger. So Elena had given Tomoe three tasks to accomplish inside the secret realm. First, she needed to defeat a full powered S rank monster all in her own. That sounded very tough but Tomoe was very much capable of doing it if she could find an opponent who was weaker to her fighting style and abilities.

Next she needed to challenge a monster named Cocolucis. It was not a very strong monster among the S rank ones but they always lived in a group of at least three of them. So did not need to kill these monsters but she needed to challenge them and she could only withdraw from the battle after she could badly injured at least of these monsters.

Then for her last challenge, she needed to fight against at least one of the monsters living in the Frostridge mountain region of this secret region. The monsters living in the Frostridge mountains were on the stronger side and the cold atmosphere of the Frostridge mountains was not very suitable for Tomoe and her fighting style. So she would need to really struggle if she wanted to complete this last challenge.

In her swordsmanship, Tomoe mostly focused on speed. The techniques that she had developed also needed her to not worry about her injuries and to go all out in order to kill her opponent as fast as possible. Yes, she was always looking for a way to kill her opponent and that was the way her style had developed. So, mock battles were not very useful for her.

Obviously if Elena was going to give her some kind of test or trial, there would obviously be a reward waiting. If Tomoe was able to complete all her trials perfectly then Elena told her that she would give Tomoe a rare and powerful technique that would allow her to intune her sword with her own existence and in that way her beloved sword would be able to grow alongside her and she would never need to change her weapon in the future. Tomoe had been using the same sword from the very beginning of her journey till now so this technique was something she really wanted as she did not want to part with her sword ever.

So with the goal of getting the reward in her mind, Tomoe started the trial. First she needed to find an opponent against whom she would have a chance of victory. She had seen quite a few S rankers and had even fought against a few. So she knew how powerful they could be and she needed to find an opponent against whom her speed would be able to give her an advantage.

After entering the third floor, Elena and Tomoe separated. Elena told Tomoe that she was going to keep the high level S rank monsters away from her but she needed to take care of herself against the initial S rank ones. So Tomoe was traversing very cautiously. Obviously Elena was not going to leave her alone and she was watching over her from the sky while being invisible.

The element that Tomoe used in her battle was lightning. She was able to clad her body in crackling lightning and could increase her already impressive speed to an insane degree. And as lightning was a powerful and destructive element, the damage she was able to deal was also very impressive.

In her investigations, Tomoe came across three S rank monsters at the initial level but she avoided all of them as none of them were particularly weak against her style. Then luckily her searching was successful and she was able to find a monster in her fourth encounter which was quite confident against.

It was a turtle tens of meters tall. This monster had very slow movement speed and it was also weak against lightning. So it was the perfect opponent for Tomoe. It was currently eating a kind of grass with high magical density and was unaware of Tomoe's presence.

Obviously Tomoe was not going to miss this chance to do a surprise attack. This monster was level 304 and quite a bit stronger than her. So Tomoe needed to take all the chances to gain an advantage if she wanted to kill this monster.

So Tomoe took her sword drawing posture and started to concentrate. Very soon her whole body was covered in purple lightning and she was ready to land her strike. Just as that turtle lowered its head to bite on more grass, she moved. In a blink of an eye, she was before the turtle monster swinging her sword toward its neck.

But as a S rank monster, obviously that turtle monster was not dumb. It immediately understood that its life was in danger and it activated a skill. Water suddenly appeared around it out of nowhere and created a kind of water domain.

With her strike, Tomoe was able to cut through the water barrier but the wound that the turtle monster sustained was very shallow. So her surprise attack was a failure. Tomoe was also pushed back because of the water domain and got ready for the battle again.

Now that her surprise advantage was over, it is going to be a head on frontal battle and the turtle was also ready with its full attention on Tomoe. Will she be able to win ?
