With Gonto's death Youlius also realised that he was actually trapped inside a barrier and this barrier was strong enough that someone who was at the same level as him was unable to break this. He did have a lot of confidence in himself but he still understood that he was in a very tricky situation.

Not only that but after his taunts, this chick fighting him suddenly started to hit very hard. Her already impressive speed had increased by a notch and her attacks were now deadlier and without any mercy. Obviously he liked this situation but he truly was having a good time.

But still Youlius had no wish to fall in a battle. He was not the type of muscle headed man who was searching for a way to die in the battlefield. After checking the barrier a little he was sure that he would not be able to run away from here. He was still not sure if he was capable of breaking this barrier or not but he was at least sure that even if he could, he would need lots of time to do that, which the other S rankers would never give him.

So in the split second he made the decision that was the only way to save his life in this situation. And that was to surrender. He had seen that the ladies who had attacked them were all principled and so he bet on the fact that they would be unwilling to harm an opponent who had already given up and had surrendered.

So he threw away his weapons immediately after making the decision and raised his hands as a gesture of surrender. But as Tomoe did not know what that gesture meant she almost killed him by beheading him in this careless state. Fortunately, Selena was able to stop her in time.

After learning about that raising one's hand was a form of surrender, Tomoe finally stopped attacking this man.
