After the fight between the Gods and the Devils was over and the Demonic Invasion came to an end, Elena returned to her daily regular life in the city of Rin.

She was promoted to A rank instead of promised B rank as her performance was very exceptional. After getting her A rank batch, Elena gave a special quest to the lower ranking adventurers to find and catch various kinds of low level monsters.

That was obviously for Echidna, her cutie slime. As the first step of her 'Slime Strengthening Plan', she wanted to feed her with various types of monsters to allow her to learn their skills.

About three days after her visit to the Outer world battlefield was over, the guild master invited Elena for a chat. There she was told that the ruler of this city, Margrave Theodor Canvisiny wanted to reward her for capturing the wanted bandits and for leading the subjugation team.

In order to do that, he invited Elena for dinner in his manner. Margrave Canvisiny had heard that Elena and the Adventurer Guild had a very good relationship so he entrusted them with the task of inviting her to his mansion.

That was why, Roice was telling Elena about all these. He was also able to get the permission to accompany Elena for this dinner as he was worried that some of the nobles might try to use Elena for their own goals.

The margrave was also known as a very cunning and scheming person so he wanted to somehow protect Elena from all the schemes of the margrave as well.

After thinking for a few moments Elena accepted the invitation as there was no reason for her to reject this sudden invitation. It was still early morning and the time of the dinner was at around 7 PM so she got a lot of time to kill.

Last night she let Echidna consume 5 monsters and she was able to get her first set of abilities.

The monster included for this test was a grey wolf type monster alongside a very poisonous but low leveled snake monster. Other than those two and three others were just a goblin, a kobold and a hobgoblin. The skills she got were nothing special except the poison secretion skill but she got quite a lot of skills from those and that was always good.

So now she went to the reception to get the new monsters that the adventurers had brought back yesterday. As the mission reward she was giving double the amount then that monster's market prize, so for low level adventurers this was a very good and rewarding quest.

The monsters were locked inside a cage and Elena took that cage and sent it to the inn. That inn, as a high end business had stables where even monsters could be kept.

She had planned to meet up with Roice, the Guild Master at around 6 PM so before that time she had some free time. Alessia, Drago, Rishia and the newly advanced Marina were also invited to the party as A rankers. So all of them were going to go to the lord's mansion together.

As Elena was leisurely visiting several shops in the market she noticed that the prize of food staff was going up. Not only that there was also high demand for potions and weapons.

This was a very obvious sign of war for Elena. In her previous world, she had seen the same scene in many countries. Before the beginning of war, almost all the comodities that had some use in war would get a price hike.

Elena didn't hear the news of any upcoming war so she was kinda bewildered. She then decided to just ask the adventurer when they meet in the evening.

She was also searching for a good location to build a house. For that reason, yesterday she visited a real estate agent and got a list of places which were for sale. So today she was going to check some of those as she went for a little walk around the town.

There was no special reason why Elena wanted to buy a house in this town. It was just that Elena had an unnatural and expensive hobby of buying at least one house in every city she visited.

When Elena was not very rich she had to give up on this hobby in several occasions but as now she had no worry for money, she wanted to fulfill her earnings and had some fun in the process.

The place she visited was in the business district. It was an old flower shop. The owner of the shop who was selling the place was an old granny and she also had two grandchildren, one boy of about 10 years and a girl of about 5.

After having a nice talk with the old woman and the two children Elena found out that the parents of those children were adventurers. A few months ego they took a slightly dangerous mission and got missing while doing that mission. Even after waiting for few months there was no news about them and they were declared dead.

But it was very hard for only the old woman to take care of these two children so she thought of selling this store to get a decent amount of cash at once.

After hearing about their story, Elena secretly used {Perfect Analysis}, {Total Clairvoyance}, Time and Space Magic to search for their parents whereabouts. The information she got was very surprising.

She didn't tell the children about it. The little boy was very fond of adventurers and wanted to become one in the future. She didn't want to break his dream.

She just encouraged him and cuddled the little girl a lot. She also soothe the old granny and decided to buy this rundown shop for a higher amount of money. She also told the siblings that they could think of Elena as an elder sister. Then she left.

She couldn't tell the truth about the parents to those children. They were very pure, innocent and good children who respected their parents a lot. Same went for the granny as she was also very proud of her son and daughter in law. That was why not knowing that their close persons had actually joined a bandit group and were actually still alive but were probably going to be sold as criminal slave, was better.

They weren't actually very terrible persons themselves. They became bandits to just earn some extra money for their children and they also never killed someone personally. But that doesn't mean they should be forgiven. So she wasn't sure of what to do. But she at least planned to buy them herself in the future but what would she do with them next, she wasn't sure.

"Hahh, I really don't like these sort of situations."

Saying so Elena went to the next place that was on the list.
