The first one to react after this outrageous declaration was Rishia. As a diehard fan of Elena, in her opinion the margrave was not even worthy of a single nail of Elena. So, just as she was going to protest with her all might against the Margrave Theodor's delusion, a hand rested on her shoulder and stopped her.

Elena was obviously a bit bewildered by this announcement but not overly so, as she knew that there were various kinds of nobles and some of them were also very delusional like this one in front of her. It didn't mean he was someone bad or evil, in her opinion he was just foolish.

So Elena resisted her urge to just beat this guy up and be done with it even tho it was the easiest and most straightforward path. But she didn't want to do that as she actually had a good impression of this noble and how he had managed this territory so far.

That didn't mean she was going to forgive any kind of bad behaviour from him but she could at least be a bit merciful when dealing with him. So instead of just using violence she thought of using one of the most useful weapons for any noble, an eloquent talk.

After stopping other adventurers who almost started rampaging Elena courtesied and said to Theodor -

"It is also my pleasure to meet you, Lord Theodor Canvisiny. I'm Elena, a newly promoted A rank adventurer and the strongest person currently residing in your city.

As for your comment about being husband and wife, I'm disappointed that, what you said will just stay as an unfulfilled dream, or in simpler words, delusion."

Even tho Elena tried her best to hold in the rage as much as she could, a little bit of it still leaked out at the end. Hearing Elena's answer the margrave's reaction was very exaggerated. He had a shocked look on his face and said -

"How can that be? I, as one of the top 10 nobles of the Myrilia Kingdom is asking you to be my wife. Yes not a concubine but a wife. Even tho high ranking adventurers do have equivalent ranks to a noble but they don't have domains in their name so most of the time they are overwhelmingly poorer than a real noble birth. So it is always considered an honour for them to receive a marriage proposal from a true blood noble like me. You should consider it carefully."

Veins started throbbing on Elena's forehead. She was trying to do her best to keep her anger in check and this imbecile in front of her was trying to cross her limit. She then just gave up on holding herself back. She was just doing it as an afterthought and as she appreciated his management of this city. That didn't mean she would allow him to do whatever he wanted.

Still she didn't want to completely shame him in front of so many of his subordinates, as that could create instability in the city management and for that the common population would suffer. So she just grabbed his shoulder (which instantly broke as Elena used too much strength) and teleported to a slightly large room inside her Mini World.

There she made the time difference between this room and the outside world about 1000:1 and started to beat some sense into Theodor's thick noble head. It was obviously not a peaceful process and margrave Theodor Canvisiny's screams rang out of the room continuously. It went on only for two real world minutes which was actually more than 33 hours for him.

The hall was obviously in an uproar and other attendees were getting boisterous as the host of the party and the main guest disappeared together suddenly. But before they could do anything those two once again suddenly reappeared inside the hall.

The behaviour and mannerism of the margrave became very courteous and mild toward Elena and the other adventurers after that and he also apologized to Elena in front of everyone for saying inappropriate things and for creating misunderstandings. That also made many who knew the character of the margrave very well, bewildered as this was very unexpected.

After that disturbance the party went on peacefully and ended in a very good note. The invited minor nobles and merchants were happy to make some connections with all the present A rank adventurers of the city. The major nobles were also happy to personally know those great adventurers and to be able to show off their wealth in front of so many peoples.

But there was no lack of fools in this world. One such fool was Count Batista's son and the future Count, Renov Batista. The Batista family had been serving the Canvisiny margraviates for generations and they were one of the most prestigious families in this domain. But recently the head of the family, Count Dominic Batista had fallen ill and the previous heir died in a sudden unfortunate accident. So the second son of the count was chosen to be the new heir. As he was never trained to be an heir, both his temperament and knowledge were lackluster.

Currently their financial situation was very bad as they had to spend an enormous amount of money for the treatment of the Count and then to compensate the families of the loyal soldiers who died alongside the previous heir trying to save him.

Obviously the Margrave gave them some compensation but after Renov became the heir the expanses of the Count household increased exponentially. So, Renov tried to find some easy ways to earn some extra money.

While he was doing so, a shady merchant met with him. He gave a business proposal to him which would give them huge profit in a very short amount of time. The Count family was responsible for the security of the orphanage area. So the merchant wanted Renov to create a fault in the security and the merchant would use this chance to kidnap the children and if possible the female workers of the orphanage to sell them as slaves. He would also share the profits gained from this venture with him.

Renov easily agreed to this business proposal as there was nothing for him to lose and a lot to gain. He had no sympathy for the orphanage as he thought it should be their honour to be useful for him. He was a scum through and through.

Tonight in this banquet they were going to finalised the plan and the dates when this attack was going to take place. Renov was in a very good mood as he was able to see a lot of beautiful women today and he was fantasizing about them and about earning a lot of money after the operation. He was thinking that as a true blood noble he could probably even be able to bed some of those female adventurers.

Unfortunately for him, in this exact time Elena was using her skills to pry into the thought of the nobles as she didn't want to deal with anymore situation like what happened before.

It was probably a violation of privacy but Elena didn't care a bit about it. So, she was able to know a lot of secrets about the individuals present here including about the plan Ronov Batista and the shady merchant were cooking.

After knowing their plan Elena got angry and gritted her teeth and laughed scarily -

"Huhu, well done, very good. You want to sell those innocent children, huh? Just see how I deal you all. I am very upset right now after knowing a lot of dirty and disgusting things. Then if you want to became my punching bag, I don't mind it at all. Fufufu"
