After the war between the powerful vampire noble families was over, the goddess who had now taken the responsibility to look after the whole continent seriously, told the queens to create fourteen grand temples in fourteen sacred locations. These temples would act as her medium to protect and look over the whole continent. So with them even if she was busy with her other duties, she would still be able to react in any unfortunate situation. And these temples would also act as the pillar of belief for all the vampires.
Those were just not any normal temples but each one of the temples had a theme attached to it. Taking inspiration from the culture of the devil society of Valhalla and the Angle society of Elysium, each of the temples were given the concept of one sin or one virtue. That was how the concept of grand vampiric temple of virtue and sin came to be.
But making plans about it was easy but actually putting that plan to work was hard. To act as medium for a goddess, the place where the temples should be built had to have some secret powers. Not only that but the size of the temples should also be extremely big to handle the duty of protecting the region. Most importantly the surroundings of the temple should be filled with many people who were the ones who had faith for the goddess.
When all these conditions were taken into account, not many places were able to fulfil all the conditions. Miraculously, the land where the Utreyana city was located was able to fulfil all the conditions. The Utreyana family was also badly affected by the previous struggle, so giving this gift would not be bad.
But there was one big problem in this plan. That was the existence of the concepts of sins and virtues. The only concept that was available was sloth but all the people living in the city and the members of the Utreyana family were all hardworking people. So the concept did not suit them at all. If a temple was built in such an unsuitable location, then might not be able to perform its duty properly.
So to get this huge honour, the Utreyana family and most of the people living in the city needed to suddenly become lazy to get this chance. Obviously all the people were very much willing for the Grand Temple to be here and for that they were willing to go any distance. Even if they needed to become lazy bums for it.
But changing one's habits was not that easy. The people here had been diligent and hard working for generations. So suddenly becoming lazy was almost impossible for them. Seeing this situation the leader of that time decided to take a different approach. He told the citizens to not become something that they were not but instead to try to enhance the quality that they already had. For this city, that sin was pride. So the Utreyana family decided to become so prideful that the current family which was responsible for making the temple related to pride would have to give up.
This plan was somewhat successful especially because in just one generation the family that was supposed to be extremely prideful became very lazy. So they suddenly become more suited for the sloth temple. Taking advantage of this matter, the Utreyana city was able to gain the permission to build the pride temple here. The other family was fine with it as they were still getting to build a temple of their own.
This was a hard fought gain for the people of this city so everyone did their absolute best to make this already grand temple even more grand. And that was how this super large temple was built.
...
That was the end of the story that Alisia was telling them. Tomoe was extremely surprised by this as she had expected the story to be grand or sacred but that was not the case at all. She even had a hard time holding back her laughter when she heard that the people of this city were trying to become lazy bums in order to win this chance.
But still it was quite an interesting story. Elena had noticed that this city was always trying to show off its grandeur and now it became clear why. The sin of pride of the pride and joy of this city so everyone living here always acted in a prideful way.
Alisia told them that there was even a time when the people of the city had become arrogant in their journey to become prideful. This was a bad situation as they were actually making problems for others. At that time one of the queens came to visit this city and became extremely disappointed after seeing that situation. She even made a suggestion to bring the temple away from this "terrible city filled with arrogant pricks".
This was an awakening call for the citizens. How foolish it would have been if they had lost the very thing for which they were trying so hard for. So they all made a petition to the queen to correct their ways.
The queen was a kind person in her heart so she decided to give them a helping hand. She herself came to this city and regularly taught the people the difference between arrogance and pride. Slowly but surely the people were able to change their ways and now it had become a comfortable city for outsiders to visit.
That queen was the most esteemed person respected by everyone living in the city. She was called a saint by the people of this city and she had a statue in the central squire. Her name was Alexia and to thank her, the city named their grand festival that happened every year "Thanksgiving to Saint Alexia". She was now an integral part of this city's history and culture.
...
After learning about the history of the city, everyone came out of the museum. They had not managed to see all the items of this large museum but it was getting late and they wanted to visit other places too. That was the reason why all of them decided to visit this place at a later date.
Next Alisia wanted to take them to see the statue of Saint Alexia in the central squire. As they just learnt about it Elena, Turin and Tomoe were interested to see how this great saint who was also a vampire queen looked like.
But just after they left the museum building, a man with blonde hair and red eyes appeared before them. He had a displeased expression on his face and he also looked a bit disheveled. As soon as he appeared, Alisia's good mood was destroyed again and her expression became as cold as tundra winter.
Now who was this man to make a cheerful girl like Alisia this much displeased ?
