The next day, Elena and Tomoe took Zona to the adventurer guild alongside them. Zona had almost completely recovered and so Elena saw no problem with her following them. The other ladies were also recovering steadily but they would need some more time to fully become normal again.

In the adventurer guild, it was May who noticed Elena and Tomoe first. She was not surprised as she knew that both of these esteemed S rankers were scheduled to come here today. But she almost fell from her chair when she saw the girl following behind the two of them.

May could never forget this girl who was like a daughter to her. She still remembered the day when this little girl was refusing to drink blood from a C rank monster as that blood was a bit bitter in taste. But when May started telling her some stories, this cute little girl got so absorbed in it that she drank all the blood without even noticing.

May immediately stood up from her counter and dashed out toward Elena and Tomoe. This created a commotion as seeing May this flustered was a very rare sight. At the same time this action from May also made everyone to look at the trio of ladies.

There were quite a few people including the adventurers and receptionists who were able to recognise Zona. She had grown up in this city for many years and had also been close to almost everyone from the adventurer guild. Most of them also knew that the mother and daughter pair had left the city a few days ago, so everyone was quite surprised after seeing her here again.

Elena was sure that both May and Zona had a lot of things to say to each other and it was definitely going to take a long time. And leaving them alone in this situation was also the right thing to do. So while the ladies were busy catching up with one another, Elena and Tomoe thought that they should use this time to get the job done for which they actually came here.

After knocking on the doors to the guild master's room, Aizawa's voice of consent was heard from inside and Elena opened the door and entered the room. Aizawa was not surprised to see Elena and Tomoe but the absence of May did make him wonder if the receptions were too busy for the day.

But he did not worry too much about it as if the guild was busy beyond what the current staff were able to handle, then he would definitely have gotten a report. As that had not happened, he did not think much about this matter and asked the ladies to take a seat. Then he himself poured then a cup of tea each and started telling them about what he had learnt from the central guild yesterday.

After Elena and Tomoe went back, Aizawa was unable to focus much on his work because of the sad news that he got from her. So he took an early break from work and went back to his home. Only after spending some steamy time with his three wives, he managed to calm his disturbed mind a little bit and came back to his office room.

In the land of eternal night there was no concept of day or night shift. A working person could take time off for a certain period as long as he was fulfilling his weekly quota. So after returning to his room, Aizawa finally contacted the central adventurer guild.

After telling them that two S rank adventurers here had managed to get rid of the Shadow Hounds, Aizawa's communication was immediately transferred to the head of the central guild. From this it was visible how important this matter was to the guild. Aizawa had heard that the central guild master was a close friend of the duke who had made this request and it looked that that rumour was actually true.

This was also a magic item, so any powerful mage should easily be able to identify it.

As soon as Elena heard the description, she took out an item that looked exactly the same as the description. Elena smiled at the guild master and said that item was only one of the rare few that had managed to attract Elena's attention. Obviously just taking a single look at enough for Elena to judge that this was a valuable item. Even Tomoe who was not an expert in magic was able to recognise that this thing was definitely special.

After taking it out, Elena handed it to Aizawa. He reverently took it and checked it from all sides. The central guild master had told him about some unique features of this item and he was trying to match them. Then after making sure that all the features were present in this item and that it was fortunately not damaged, he returned it back to Elena.

This surprised Elena as she had expected that Aizawa would take it under his custody. Seeing Elena's confusion Aizawa told her that the duke had request that S ranker to keep the item safe for the time being. The duke would be sending his men to thank that person and to retrieve it in a few days time. If Elena wanted to reject this request only then would Aizawa take this under his custody.

Elena had no problem taking care of this item for a few days so she accepted the request. Then as she was going to continue, a knock was heard on the door. After a bewildered Aizawa gave his permission to enter, May opened the door and came inside the room. She was followed by Zona who had managed to calm her emotions down. This unexpected encounter left guild master Aizawa bewildered.
