Just a few moments before Duke Karl Moronto appeared in the location where the epic battle was taking place, he was resting in his private chamber while getting served by several beautiful maid servants. Suddenly a shadow guard appeared before him who was responsible for notifying him about what had been happening in the Dukedom and told him that both the head butler and the Grand Protector were missing.

The disappearance of the head butler was not a big deal. His family had been serving the duke's family for a long time. Even though he was not the most loyal man, he was good enough to complete all the duties that were given to him so Karl was fine with him. Even if he was doing some shady things at the side, if his action did not hurt his Dukedom badly, he was fine with a few shady things.

But the Grand Protector was a completely different matter. Hyneward was the strongest person living in this city and was a pillar of support for everyone including Duke Karl. Even after becoming a S ranker, when there were really troublesome monsters threatening the city, he would feel some fear. That was how duke Moronto appeared here and saw the scene of Tomoe and Hyneward righting. The barrier that was surrounding this house was extremely powerful and was actually linked to the grand barrier that was protecting the whole city. After seeing that Karl was here, Tomoe and Hyneward also stopped fighting and came down from the sky. Even hearing Karl's question Max did not give any answer and just lowered his head. Instead it was Alisia who stepped up and greeted Karl.

After introducing herself, Alisia told Karl about everything. She first told him some of the city guards had tricked them and had brought them to this mansion and how Max was demanding them to hand over the heart that they had found at the border of Karl's land.

Then Alisia also explained to Karl about the origin of the heart and even showed him the dairy that they had found.

Alisia had noticed that even the name of the heart's owner was mentioned, Karl became thoughtful and after some time he had a light of understanding in his eyes. It must mean that he had managed to realise something after listening to what Alisia was saying. But he did not stop Alisia midway and allowed her to finish everything she had to say.

After Alisia was done telling the duke about the whole situation, Karl nodded his head in appreciation and thanked everyone who was Alisia. Then he told Hyneward that he had not given him any order which made Hyneward bewildered at first and the he became angry. But Karl asked him to hold his anger back and Hyneward calmed down after some time.

Karl then asked Hyneward to make Max unconscious and arrested him. All the other people who had assisted Max were also captured. As for Elena's group, they all were welcomed to the Duke's mansion as VIP guests.

After showing them to their rooms himself, Karl asked to join him for a meeting later during dinner. He also requested them to bring the heart with them at that time. From this, it was clear that Karl was planning to reveal what had happened with this heart to everyone during this meeting.

So all the ladies and one little dragon decided to wait for some time to learn about the truth. But that did not stop all the ladies from gossiping and imagining about the real truth. Many wolf guesses came out of their mind but the most insane fanfic was definitely thought of by Leshia who guessed that this giant and Max's ancestors were lovers. But after some time Max's ancestors got embarrassed having relationship with a man and he fell in love with a woman. So to hide his past, he decided to get rid of Costogolomo.

That was something wild that Leshia had thought of but who knew if that was the truth or not. Elena obviously knew but the others had to wait for some time to learn about it.

After bidding goodbye to Elena's group, Karl went to an underground prison that was very rarely used. Today there was a very high profile criminal getting interrogated here. Even as a Ducal family, the value of a S ranker was immense, so Karl was unwilling to just kill Max off. But he needed to learn Max's motive to clear the situation.
