As the swamp was full of sticky mud, walking normally was very troublesome here. So Elena was using a barrier as her foothold while walking and Tomoe was cladding her feet in lightning to get rid of all the mud around it. They could have just flown in this phase but they decided to walk for the time being.

That was mostly because this part of the swamp was still not that bad. Later in the swamp was going to get very smelly and in that area both Elena and Tomoe were planning to fly. So as walking in this swamp was an interesting experience, they were enjoying it for the time being.

But the calm walking did not last for long as very soon monsters started attacking them. As this area still was the outskirts of the swamp, the monsters here were not strong. For that reason, Tomoe did not take them seriously and just created a force field around her made using her lightning and sword aura. Any weak monsters that came in contact with the force field were immediately killed.

This was actually a prototype of a technique that Tomoe was trying to create. After reaching the S rank her next target was to reach level 399 to be eligible to take the trial to become a Demigod. With Elena's help she had improved quite a bit but still she had ways to go before she would be eligible for the demigod rank.

But there was no harm in trying to prepare for the demigod trial already. So Tomoe had asked Elena for some advice about it. Elena had no problem with Tomoe's fighting ability but as a pure warrior, she lacked versatility. That was actually not a bad thing as improving upon one's strength was the way to go. But from what Elena had seen of Tomoe's, she knew that just getting better at fighting was not her limit.

For that reason, Elena had advised her to create a domain type technique. These types of techniques were most versatile and would even be useful for Tomoe in fighting. So following this advice Tomoe was trying to create a domain ability of her own. She had quite a few ideas in her mind and the one she was trying now was one in which she had a lot of confidence.

But just after a few minutes, one monster was able to withstand her force field and tried to attack her and Elena. But Tomoe immediately created a sword beam and cut the monster in half. She saw that this monster was a B rank one and even though it was slightly injured by her force field, those injuries were not serious.

As Tomoe was releasing the aura from her body, her control over it was not that good. As Tomoe had always been a sword user, she never had any need to control her aura too far away from her body. That was the reason why the force field that she was creating was not even strong enough to get rid of even a B rank monster.

So Tomoe continued to better control the aura away from her body while walking on the muddy swamp. She did manage to improve a little bit but her force field was still not strong enough to completely take care of a B rank powerhouse. It could injure them a bit more badly but killing one was still hard.

Tomoe wanted to continue practicing it but soon the infamous bad smell started to attack them. For the time being Elena was using her wind magic to keep it away but Tomoe knew that the smell would continue getting worse from here. So she ended her practice session and decided to start flying.

As Elena was more fond of walking by foot and Tomoe was not very good at flying, most of the time both of them journeyed by foot. But flying side by side in the sky also had a special feeling and they were enjoying it.

While flying they were also able to see far away locations, so the scenery from the sky was also super amazing. Even though the swamp was not really a beautiful area visually, both Tomoe and Elena still were able to find quite a few interesting scenes which were actually beautiful.

But the journey through the sky was not only filled with calm. Elena and Tomoe for attacked by many flying monsters as soon as they took to the sky. When they were walking on the ground, Tomoe had not noticed this many flying monsters in the area. But as soon as they started flying, a horde of them suddenly appeared and started attacking them.

But this was not really a bad thing. With this many monsters around, Tomoe was able to start practicing her domain technique again. She knew that her journey with Elena was soon coming to an end. So before that she wanted to impress Elena by creating an amazing technique before that.

As for Elena, she was actually trying to study the swamp monsters a little bit. Quite a few monsters here had unique designs she had not seen before. Her mini world also had quite a few swamp areas, so Elena was planning to create a few monsters for those areas taking inspiration from the monsters of this area.

Elena had seen many swamp and mud filled areas before but the monsters here looked different from them. Evolution of monster species looked quite similar depending on the location and terrain. So Elena was curious why that was not the case here. So much so that she ended up using her broken ability to analyse the whole Hoedock Swamps.

After finding out the reason behind the unique monsters, Elena was quite impressed. Actually this area was once affected by a spy of the FITURA world who had once infiltrated this world. So the monsters of this area had changed in shape quite a bit in recent years. As it had not been too long that this change had happened, not many people had noticed it. But soon many people would notice that the monsters of the Hoedock Swamp had changed quite a bit.

While Elena was using her skills to investigate the swamps, she also noticed the caravan that had entered the danger zone just a little bit after then. But currently they were getting attacked by a large group of monsters and were getting overwhelmed.

Actually just a few years ago, the route that they were currently taking was free of danger. But after the sudden change in the monsters, a large area switching had taken place here and that danger free zone had become one of the most dangerous zones. Elena judged that if they were not helped, the whole caravan would be wiped out in just a few hours.

That was something undesirable for Elena so she decided to help them out. So Elena told Tomoe to continue forward while practicing her domain technique while Elena teleported away to help the Caravan.
