As Tomoe was trying to master her domain skill, Elena allowed her to take care of the swarms of insects as domains were best utilised against a group of enemies. In the meantime, Elena went to take care of the insect queen. Elena had faced off against many insect queens and she had to agree that they were some of the most troublesome enemies.

There were mostly two kinds of insect queens. One kind was not very strong individually and depended upon its offspring for protection. This type of insect queens were easy to handle as assassinating the queen was easy and would take care of the whole problem. But the second kind of queens were also powerful in battle so they were extremely troublesome to defeat. And this insect queen was of the second kind.

But that was not a problem for Elena so she decided to test a few things out with this insect queen. By using her omniscient ability, Elena was able to know that just a few years ago this insect queen was actually a regular insect monster of this swamp without any special qualities. But when this whole area was affected by the otherworldly influence, this insect was one of the lucky few who were positively affected by it.

After withstanding the sudden chance that happen in its body, almost overnight this monster became super strong. It was not only able to give birth to many powerful offspring, it also grew stronger and stronger depending on how large her queendom became. Then after crossing a certain threshold, she was able to become a S rank powerhouse. One of the strongest monsters of the swamp.

So what Elena wanted to experiment on was the efficiency of the mutation that had occurred in these monsters. She was going to use her fate concept magic to see what would be the outcome if this insect was slightly more or slightly less affected by the otherworldly corruption.

While Elena was busy with her experiment, Tomoe continued her practice and fight. As quite a few of the bug monsters were A rank, Tomoe needed to be a bit careful. As she was determined to defeat all of the monsters with just her domain, she was not using any other of her techniques. For that reason Tomoe was having a hard time in this fight.

After about two hours, she managed to wipe out almost eighty five percent of the population of the bug monsters. But for the remaining 15 percent, she was unable to kill them with her domain at all. All the monsters who were still alive were all either at the top of B rank or were A rank monsters. Against them Tomoe's current domain was not doing much.

Seeing this Tomoe understood that she had reached her current limit. She would not be able to increase the power of her domain anymore by just refining her aura control. Now she needed to introduce more complexity to the technique to improve it anymore. For that reason, she decided to end her practice for the time being and used a brilliant sword slash to kill off all the remaining monsters.

Elena was also done with her own experiments by them and was very satisfied by the result. She had not expected that by this simple experiment, she would be able to deepen her understanding of the concept of fate itself. That was a happy surprise for Elena.

Actually after using her fate powers of the insect queen, Elena was able to find out that if the intensity of the corruption was even a little bit higher or lower than the exact one that this insect was affected by, then she would have died. As that corruption was from a different world and this insect was from this world, the fate that it came across was not controlled by any of the two worlds.

So the transformation that it had managed to get was related to the greater fate that was maintaining the whole universe. This was a minor thing so it has no importance in the eyes of the universal will but that exact supreme power was behind this minor transformation. Seeing that this insect really got super lucky randomly, Elena thought that killing it off would be a waste. So she decided to keep it inside her mini world and allowed its uninterrupted growth in an island. She was looking forward to seeing what this insect queen would turn into at the peak of her potential.

After this battle was over, Elena and Tomoe continued with their journey. For the rest of that night, they did not encounter any more flying monsters. They did come across another S rank monster but as this monster was a giant sludge, it was unable to fly. So they just avoided it and did not engage it in a battle. The main reason for that was the awful smell of this monster and how disgusting it looked. For that reason, Elena and Tomoe had no intention to get in close proximity to this sludge.

Just like that the second day of the journey also came to an end. This time Elena and Tomoe were able to find a spacious cave and stayed there to rest up. The previous occupant of the cave, who was a giant bear became the ingredient using which Elena cooked a stew.

After a good rest, Elena and Tomoe continued with their journey. Now they were again reaching the outer parts of the swamp of the opposite side, so the monster presence had drastically gone down. Elena checked on the Caravan with her detection skills again and found that they were doing perfectly fine.

As the smell of the swamp also went away in the other area, Elena and Tomoe started walking on the muddy ground again. Flying in the sky was fun at the beginning but after doing that for more than 24 hours, Tomoe was getting a bit bored. So she was happy with the opportunity to walk on the ground again.

Just like that without any problems, they were able to safely leave the final danger zone on the way to the city of Neel.

Even though Elena and Tomoe were out of the swamp, they still needed to travel for a few more hours to reach the city. So they did not waste any time and continued going toward it. After two more hours, they were able to see a tall mountain in front of them. On the surface of the mountain several houses were lined up. The higher one went up the mountain, the more luxurious the houses became. This was the beautiful City of Neel where one of the vampire queens resided.
