Koene, Elena and Heity found themselves in the middle of a large and bustling city. They were just walking around while checking out the street stalls. The city was decorated with various things and the atmosphere of the city was very festive.

The city where they had came to was called Lonhatan and they were celebrating their three hundreds founding anniversary. This was a very big deal and the city council were going all out in celebrating this milestone.

The festival was going to last for just three days and it was already the second day. The first day of the festival was very well received by people who visited the city and after finding out about it from internet, Koene decided to bring Elena here. They still had a few other destinations that Elena wanted to check out. But having a chance to enjoy a grand festival of this world was something that Elena did not want to miss out on.

Koene and Heity both were unable to use any teleportation abilities. There were special artifacts that could be used for teleportation but they were extremely rare only some of the elders had access to them. So it was Elena who was in charge of transportation during this trip. Heity was quite ashamed of this as she had completely forgotten about this matter. But Elena did not mind this one bit.

Heity and Koene were already acquaintances and Elena was also able to able to forge a close relationship with Heity in no time. So the chemistry between the three of them was very good. Elena was looking forward to spending some quality time with both of these young ladies.

While walking around the festival, Elena asked the ladies about their aim for the future. Heity wanted to follow in her father's footsteps to became a future elder of the Tower. Her ability was quite powerful and with enough training she had a good chance to reach the power level needed to sit on the chair of an elder.

She did not have a heaven gifted powerful ability that would allow her to reach the power level needed to become an elder immediately. But she was determined to fulfill her dreams with her own hard work. In a world where the value of hardwork was not that high, Elena was happy to see people like Heity who still believed in it.

As for Koene, she wanted to complete her doctorate first in the field of biochemistry. Then she wanted to join the elite research team of the tower to research on Xenos Cores. The main danger associated with the Xenos core was its unpredictability. No one could reliably predict when and where a Xenos core might appear next.

Koene had lost her parents in such an incident. Her mother and father both went to a little trip in a remote island. There a Xenos Core suddenly appeared and the animals of the island and the sea were corrupted. Before any help could reach the island, most of the people of that island were killed including Koene's parents. Both Koene and Lifua were working extra hard to make sure something like this did not happened to anyone else in this world.

There were special heart tools that had the function of prediction. But when it came to the Xenos cores, most of those heart tools were unable to find any definite answer. The Xenos Cores had an in build defense system that protected them from those kinds of heart tools.

What Koene wanted to do was to find a way to detect the Xenos cores. Her own heart tool did not have any combat capabilities but it was a special one that could analyse things with details. So she wanted to use this heart tool of hers and her own knowledge to find a solution to one of the biggest problem of this world.

Hearing about the young ladies' dreams, Elena encouraged them and did not forget to give them some advice that would be beneficial for them. Heity's heart tool allowed her to access to a unique type of energy that she had named "Legia". She had been using this since her childhood and was familiar with many of its properties.

But with her analyse skill, Elena was able to found out many of the hidden properties of this Legia which even Heity was unaware of. So Elena told her about those properties which would be extremely helpful for Heity.

As for Koene, Elena told her a lot about how one should properly utilise an appraisal type skill. Elena was an expert in this field as she had one of the strongest skill of this type in this universe. Actually using an appraisal type skill was not as easy as looking at someone and knowing everything immediately. Most of the appraisals only revealed limited information and the the user needed to sort out the extracted information by their own merit.

While speaking about all these things, the ladies found themselves in a remote corner of the festival. A few shops were present in this area but not many people were shopping here and the shops also looked to have products of inferior grade.

Seeing this Koene was about to turn back to go to the main festival. Soon a parade was scheduled to come out and Koene wanted to show Elena that. But just as she was about to turn around, suddenly the scenery around her changed and she found herself in an unknown space that was pitch black in all sides.

Koene had never experienced something like this and she started panicking. But suddenly a rainbow coloured light pierced the darkness of this space and filled the whole area with multicoloured light. After a few moments, Koene found herself in the middle of the same street again as if nothing had happened and she was just dreaming.

But what she just experienced was not a dream and as proof, a person was suddenly standing right before her. She was not present on this street previously but had suddenly appeared when Koene found herself in that pitch dark space. This lady was also covered in the same darkness that Koene had seen in that space. She was definitely related to all this.

As for the rainbow coloured light that had saved her, currently Heity was covered in the same light. It looked like when she was trapped inside that pitch dark space, Heity had used the power of her heart tool to save her.

After coming back to her senses, Koene immediately ran to the back and took refuge behind Heity. She was aware that she was the weakest person present here. So as to not became a burden, Koene immediately put herself in a position from where she would not be taken as a hostage easily. Elena was quite impressed by Koene's awareness in a tensed situation like this.

It looked like the assaulter was quite confident with her move and had not expected that her ability would be nullified so easily. So she was bewildered for a moment. But the bewilderment did not last for long and she started attacking again. She completely disregarded the presence of the Heity and her sole target was only Koene. Obviously Heity could not allow that and she also started attacking the lady with her rainbow coloured energy.

Just like that, in a remote corner of a festive city, a big battle broke out.
