Restart: The World Savior's New Beginning

Chapter 67: Ch 67: Fate of Lux and Dic

The first one to speak was Ele -

"I don't have much of an involvement in this matter and I haven't been in the academy for long too. But still if it were me in Mister Lux's position, I would also do the same. So, I really think that the headmaster had gone too far with his actions."

After she stopped speaking Gonjalus spoke up -

"I disagree. Most of the strong individuals had done even worse things in the search of just a bit more power. In that sense, what he did was a minor matter. I believe what he had done was wrong, but if you ask me if it deserves death as a retaliation then I don't agree. You cannot get stronger by only thinking about justice."

"What the fuck you taking about, senile old man. Will you kill your colleagues to get more power? Huh."

Drux spoke up threateningly. Rizzile also supported him -

"What he said is correct. Even tho you can seek power as much as you want there should always be a moral limit of what you shouldn't do."

"Hmph, you all can think like that only because you all are strong and have never faced the problem of stagnation in strength. That is a scary feeling. You might even do worse things if you ever felt that in your life."

The arguments were heating up. The Mismatched Piece was speaking for Lux and wanted nothing less than Dic's death. On the other hand, Gonjalus was adamant about letting the headmaster live. He knew that if the headmaster was declared dead, then the academy's power would have a massive downfall and that would be very bad for him too.

Ele was very astonished, she never thought that Gonjalus would be siding with Dicovolve even after hearing what he had done in the past. Gonjalus spoke up once again -

"Even if he had made some mistakes in the past, right now he is one of the pillars of the kingdom. His achievements in all these years give him the right to not be blamed for something like this. He got beaten up and humiliated, that should be enough of a punishment."

Ele wasn't able to take it anymore. Her delusion of Gonjalus as a dependable uncle and elder shuttered completely. She shouted -

"What the fuck are you taking about? He cold bloodedly murdered someone not for any reason but to steal from them. How could you support this. Are you right on your mind."

Elena was watching all this calmly. She already knew that even tho Gonjalus was not a bad person but he was still very self-centred and would byte back if something was threatening his livelihood. She wanted to break both Ele and Selena's delusion of him as a very righteous person.

As the conversation was getting very heated, for the first time after coming here, Selena spoke up -

"Shut up, shut up, shut up... SHUT UP!!!"

Her sudden outblast made everyone halt what they were doing. Thinking that she might be irritated because the others kept asking for her teacher's death, Gonjalus spoke up -

"Don't worry Selena. With your support we would definitely be able to keep him ali-"

Before he could finish his words Selena shouted again -

"Shut up. I don't know anything anymore. The person I respected the most and was my teacher is a cold-blooded murderer and the person I looked up to as a senior is a selfish, opportunistic person. I don't know what to do anymore."

She broke down crying. The last few hours were very hard for her mental health. Elena went to her and hugged her tightly. Selena also hugged her back and buried her face in Elena's massive and soft rabbits and cried her heart out. But this delicate situation was broken by hysterical shouting of Dicovolve -

"Why, why my teleportation item is not working. Damn it. Damn it. WHY ?!?!"

"Oh, I forgot to mention but I had cast an enchantment in the house and that makes it impossible for anyone below the strength of a demigod rank to teleport in or out from here."

Hearing this Dicovolve's eyes clouded over and he started muttering -

"No, no ,no. This can't be happening. I'm a great person and one day I will be known as the greatest mage in history. I can't die in a place like this. I will have the glory to teach one of the most gifted students who will later on become my sexual cauldron to increase my magic and longevity. My life plan was perfect and this defeated dog should have just stayed like that. Why didn't I just kill him before. No. It's not too late I will kill him now."

Saying so Dicovolve suddenly took out a dagger from his storage space and attacked Lux. The storage space he had was from the skill "Item Box" so it could not be removed. Even tho the attack was very sudden Lux reacted quickly. The attack was aimed at his heart but due to Lux's quick reaction it was only able to pierce non-vital parts.

Lux also didn't hesitate and used all his augmented aura which he had been again saving for the last few minutes and landed a hit in Dicovolve's head. The old headmaster's head popped like a watermelon and he died. The life of this renowned S rank mage came to an underwhelming end. Soon after that a satisfied laughter was heard from Lux and soon he also breathed his last with a very satisfied but crazy smile on his face.

This whole sequence happened very quickly and no one was able to react. When they came back to their senses both the S rankers present inside the room were already dead. All the A rank party members face and they quickly went to Lux's body. Drux and Sylvia were crying seeing their beloved teacher's death.

Selena was still a bit stunned by the suddenness of the situation but after catching up with everything a drop of tear fell from her eyes and she absent mindedly muttered -

"Teacher."

...

While this emotional episode was taking place Elena thought coldly -

"At least even you have someone to shed a tear for you. You should at least be happy knowing that."

She then used a skill, {Satisfied Reincarnated}. This skill was a special skill that didn't have any immediate effect but after someone's death it could give the departing soul a very peaceful feeling and increase the chance of quickly getting reincarnated by helping the soul lose the least amount of soul power possible.

Any time when someone died in front of her went for reincarnation, be it a friend or enemy she always had always used this skill. In her opinion even the vilest of creatures should get peace after death.

Was Elena unable to block the {Item Box} of Dic? No she wasn't. Could she not protect Lux after he killed Dicovolve? Yes, she could. But why would she. If she saved Lux what would he do. His lifelong mission was over. Even if he was saved he would still just be a shell of his former self.

So showing a bit of sympathy and saving him would just be a mockery of his life. So Elena didn't do it. In her opinion, this was the best possible outcome. Letting his die with a satisfied smile was the best Elena could do for a comrade.

And like this the life of two S rankers came to an end.
