After beating up Nocrose, Beel and Laventa continued their fighting. As for Elena, she started to support Beel's subordinates who were fighting against the people that the two overlords had brought with them. She did not do much but just supported them with her powerful barriers.
Actually as both sides had almost same numbers and similar level of strength, even the little bit of help from Elena was able to tip the scale of the battle. So Elena did not really worry too much about them and started to watch Beel's fight with interest while continuing to keep an eye on the children who were going through the awakening process.
But after watching the battle between Laventa and Beel, she got bored. That battle had no suspense and Elena was already sure that Beel was going to win. Laventa was actually not going all out and had a secret weapon to use. That was why he did not looked flustered and was still confident in his victory. But he had no idea that Beel also had similar thinking and she was also holding back quite a bit.
So Elena stopped paying attention to their battle and started to analyse the changes that Bella and Tim were going through. It was quite an interesting phenomenon actually.
Veles were a race that had a very close relationship with the nature. But unlike the elvin race, they were more intuned with the negetive or reversed aspect of the nature. That was also the reason why this Reverse Nature was so important to them.
The transformed mana of the reverse nature was able to merge with the Veles and could slowly fuse with their blood. In that state, the blood would be in a constant state of activity and the density of the bloodline would also increase.
With this increase in quality of the one's bloodline, an individual might be able to get a brand new racial skill and there was a chance for their racial ability to also increase in strength. But the most important benefit of this "awakening" was actually something different.
For Veles with already impressive bloodline, there was a chance that with enough stimulation from the Reverse Nature, there was a very slight possibility that they might be able to evolve their bloodline outright. In that case, from Veles, one could turn into a High Veles. This race was stronger than a Veles in all aspects and was a superior evolution. All three of the the overlords were actually from this race.
A high veles had even less chance for reproduction but they also had access almost all racial skills that a regular veles had. Not only that but a Veles also had a powerful special skill or ability that made them extremely powerful and origin of a new subrace of the Veles race.
That was why, Beel having two children was even more impressive. As a high veles, she had even less chance of getting pregnant but she managed to do just that not once but twice. Both of the other overlords still had no children of their own and that was also a reason behind their jealousy and this plot.
Actually, just participating in the awakening process was not enough for the evolution to happen. It depended on many factors and only when all the factors were present, this evolution could take place.
From what Elena observed, Bella had a higher chance of evolution compared to Tim. Elena found that to be a bit sad. While interacting with them, she had actually found Tim to be a very good boy. So Elena did not want him to be buried under his little sister's shadow. So she decided to help him out. Obviously she did not show partiality to him and also made sure that Bella would also be able to evolve for sure.
...
Just as Elena had expected, the battle between Beel and Laventa did not last for very long and soon it was time for the climax. After getting dominated throughout the whole fight without getting a chance to fight back, Laventa finally decided to use his trump card.
The mark of the large tree on his body started glowing more brightly and suddenly disappeared. Then immediately, Laventa's body started to experience some kind of chance. Before Beel's eyes, in almost no time, he went from being a handsome Veles man to a disgusting looking monster.
His height increased to about 33 meters. Four extra hands came out from his back, his legs turned into tree roots and his body turned into wood. Basically, in no time, Laventa became a tree monster. This transformation did not only increase his stats again, it made him very resistant to most plant based elemental attacks, including poisons.
Throughout the whole duration of the battle, while attacking Laventa with her vines, Beel was also using the flower growing on her vine to poison his body. This was something Laventa had noticed but had no way to stop this from happening as he had no chance of counter attacking at all. So his only option was to believe in his body's poison resistance.
But after he turned into a tree monster, all the poison that had accumulated in his body immediately became useless. So all the preparations that Beel had done throughout the whole fight became useless in just a moment.
But Beel did not mind it and and continued her attacks. After turning into a tree, Laventa's agility had gone down significantly but his VIT and STR had both increased. So now he completely disregarded Beel's attacks and tried to go toward the two children who were going through their awakening process. Any vine that wrapped around his body was immediately torn apart by Laventa in seconds.
But Beel did not show any surprised or fear by this display too. Laventa was feeling a bit cocky at first with all of Beel's attacks becoming useless. But seeing her nonchalant attitude, he became a bit confused and suspicious.
Noticing this, Beel decided to stop playing around. So she snapped her fingers and immediately three golden coloured vines appeared behind her. Even though there were only three of these golden coloured vines, the threat that Laventa felt from them was insane.
Beel smiled slightly and started to explain these vines to him. Even though she was angry, because of various political reason and competition with other cities, killing any of the overlords would be extremely troublesome for her. So she decided to explain how truly unmatched her golden vines were so that Laventa would never dare to chalenge her again.
So what was this peculiar looking golden coloured vine ?
