Li Hongjiu had no intention of ascending but instead looked up at them and flashed his signature, radiant smile before slowly reaching for the wine jug at his waist.
"Bastards," a group of Yanbao Sect Disciples cursed anxiously.
Guang Haoyou glanced at the rushing vast swarm of Fire Bats and realized it was too late; he gritted his teeth and yelled, "Get down, grab him, and go."
On his signal, the Wind Scales immediately retreated, and five people floated down and semi-circled Li Hongjiu.
Guang Haoyou's face twisted fiercely as he gritted his teeth and said, "Uncle Master, forgive us for our rudeness." With a wave of his hand, he commanded, "Take him away!"
The meaning was clear—when respected, you are Uncle Master; without respect, there's no courtesy.
The other four immediately reached out to grab him.
With his head raised and drinking, Li Hongjiu's wine dripped from the corner of his lips. He leisurely lifted his fingers before his chest and caught the falling droplets of wine; the droplets shattered yet remained intact on his fingertips, swirling and twinkling like broken diamonds under the starlight.
His clothes seemed to inflate as the wind whooshed into his wide robe sleeves, which bulged like balloons.
The hands that reached to grab his shoulders and arms clawed ineffectively, unable to grasp him properly or exert any force.
The forcefully exerted mana seemed to be swept away by the rushing air inside his ballooning clothes, or perhaps it was dissipated.
At the same time, the Disciples, their eyes widened, unconsciously stopped their capture, shrinking back as if electrocuted.
They clearly saw the whirlwind shape formed at the tip of Uncle Master Hongjiu's fingers.
Though the wind itself was invisible, the few droplets turned to mist, clearly outlining the small whirlwind.
As the mist swiftly swirled, flickering sparks of electricity appeared within, resembling a diminished storm of rain and lightning.
Only now did the Yanbao Sect Disciples realize that their previous feeling was not an illusion but an actual electric shock.
Li Hongjiu turned his head from side to side, looking at them with a grin before turning back to face the incoming swarm of massive Fire Bats. The ballooning robe sleeves on his body suddenly deflated rapidly, while the whirlwind at his fingertips expanded swiftly, the crescendo of one leading to the diminishment of the other being clearly displayed.
As his wide robe sleeves hung loosely as before, the spinning whirlwind continued to grow infinitely. The mist within had disappeared, and the sparks of electricity faded, leaving only the ferociously expanding violent whirlwind, whose momentum grew immense, making the monks feel their own insignificance.
The dust beneath their feet also peeled away layer by layer from the ground, along with bits of rock continually sucked into the whirlwind. The line of disciples had their clothes flapping fiercely, needing to apply a slight mana to stabilize themselves, otherwise fearing they might be sucked into the whirlwind.
The few Wind Scales in the air also had to retreat further.
Seeing the massive swarm of Fire Bats diving from the sky, Li Hongjiu waved his finger, shaking the entire spinning tornado. He suddenly flicked the column of wind towards the approaching swarm of Fire Bats as if a demon had opened its gaping maw.
Just moments ago, Guang Haoyou and the others, who were fiercely trying to abduct Uncle Master, could only stand dumbfounded amidst the overwhelming momentum, uncertain and utterly shocked.
They hadn't felt a strong cultivation presence from Uncle Master, nor sensed the deployment of powerful mana. They truly didn't know how Uncle Master could stir such a force with just two fingers.
An even more magnificent scene appeared in an instant.
The rushing swarm of Fire Bats, seemingly not too intelligent, crashed headfirst into the mouth of the tornado. The moment of collision threw their formation into chaos, swirling chaotically like scraps of paper, and the glowing swarm continuously spiraled into the whirlwind.
The Fire Bats in the rear finally realized what was happening and immediately panicked, flying haphazardly and even colliding as they tried to turn around and flee.
But Li Hongjiu softly commanded, "Retrieve!"
He pushed his arm forward from where the whirlwind spun at his fingertips, clearly exerting force again. The tornado rapidly stretched, its mouth swiftly expanding as if to devour the stars in the sky—an awe-inspiring sight indeed.
The Fire Bats unable to escape were instantly engulfed, and those who flew away struggled in the air, flapping their wings desperately but unable to advance, fighting against the pulling force from behind.
Ultimately, against the overwhelming force, all resistance was futile.
The result was that the massive swarm of luminescent Fire Bats could not escape and was completely consumed by the engulfing whirlwind.
The satiated tornado then rapidly contracted, visibly compressing from the activity within.
Under the pressure and the increasingly rapid rotation of the tornado, the trapped Fire Bats collided against each other, quickly being crushed into pieces amid the high-speed movement.
The tornado subsequently grew even more majestic and dazzling due to the countless bursts of bluish liquid.
Guang Haoyou and the others looked at each other as if in a dream, marveling at how those strange bats that had caused hundreds of sects to flee in defeat were simply annihilated by Uncle Master Hongjiu with a mere flick of his fingers.
Their gaze towards this unreliable Uncle Master now seemed peculiar.
They had heard about the prowess of this Uncle Master, said to be rather unserious and the most capable fighter among his peers. Reportedly, once he took action, no other Disciple could stand his pressure.
They had never seen exactly how formidable he was, nor did they know if it was due to Uncle Master Hongjiu's unreliability or the sect's intention to keep a low profile. Mostly, they'd heard that this Uncle Master was frequently punished.
The most common opinion was that if he were not the Sect Leader's Direct Disciple, he would probably have been expelled from the sect long ago.
Thus, he was somewhat of a legendary figure within the sect.
They had never seen this Uncle Li Hongjiu cast a spell; it seemed that not many in the Sect had, and those who had didn't talk much about it.
Now they understood why — it seemed the Sect had intentionally kept a low profile about it.
Now they finally understood why those who had seen Uncle Li Hongjiu in action always liked to silently make their way to the mountain behind his residence.
They had also tried to glimpse the cultivation technique that the uncle had created himself. The name of the technique was quite strange, taken by Uncle Li Hongjiu himself, named "Borrowed Realm."
That wasn't really a secret within the Sect; although it was put on a high shelf, the Sect did allow other disciples to study it if they applied for permission and were approved.
Disciples went to it because of legends, and then abandoned it because they couldn't master it.
As time passed, the legends were just spoken words; everyone had to face the realities of life, didn't they? The things they needed to forget ought to be forgotten, and those that were irrelevant must be dismissed from their minds.
Today, they finally glimpsed the true face of that legend.
They realized how absurd their previous actions to obstruct Uncle had been; mere pests could be annihilated with a wave of his hand. What was there to fear?
In the air behind him, several disciples from Wind Scale who witnessed this spectacle were visibly astonished.
Li Hongjiu, having wiped out the fire bats, didn't stop. He turned to look at those Sect disciples, furrowed his brow in thought, surveyed his surroundings, and set his sights on a nearby mountain, making a decision.
After steadying the tornado raised at his fingertip, Li Hongjiu cast a spell and uttered, "Move Mountain!"
He then casually threw the tornado he was supporting with a flick of his fingers.
The tornado rose up, shifting horizontally, and descended directly onto the nearby peak, expanding along the way until it engulfed the entire mountain.
At this moment, the expanding tornado's momentum could truly be described as terrifying, causing the heavens and the earth to change color.
Those disciples within the Wind Scale could no longer maintain their aerial stance and, forsaking their magical treasures, fell behind Li Hongjiu.
Obviously, it was less windy beside Li Hongjiu.
Li Hongjiu, casting spells from afar, occasionally changed hand signs but maintained focus on the mountain-swallowing tornado. The roaring winds blotted out the stars, yet he remained calm and collected, even managing to casually lift his wine flask for a drink.
Those like Guang Haoyou, watching him drink, had expressions that shifted from previous helplessness and disgust to current admiration.
A gleam shone in their eyes as they looked at Uncle Li Hongjiu.
The tapered, massive tornado gradually transitioned to being narrow at the base and wide at the top, its vibrant blue glow completely swallowed by confusion.
The great mountain gradually vanished from sight, seemingly transporting into the air spinning rapidly.
The group of disciples had understood by now; the mountain was being obliterated layer by layer, its debris carried into the sky by the spinning force.
To let such a massive mountain float in the air, such immense power was beyond what a mere High Martial Great Success Realm could achieve; yet this uncle held precisely this level of cultivation, and it was no deception. Higher cultivation would be unbearable for a mortal body and if one cultivated an immortal body, it couldn't escape detection prior to entering Divine Fire Domain.
The inspectors couldn't miss the difference between a mortal body and an immortal body.
Suddenly, Li Hongjiu stowed his wine gourd and leapt into the air, landing below the rapidly spinning narrow tornado.
As he moved, it was as if there was nothing to block the wind; the pull grew suddenly stronger and a group of Yanbao Sect disciples immediately joined hands, casting spells together to brace themselves, lest they be blown away.
Li Hongjiu waved his hand, and the giant tornado briefly shrank its base; he extended his palm to support it, and instantly, the immense tornado stabilized directly onto the palm of his hand.
With a push from one arm, the immense tornado rose into the sky, and he floated upward along with it.
It was unclear whether the tornado was lifting him or he was carrying the entire tornado into the sky.
Moving a mountain of such grandeur and magnitude with his High Martial Realm strength left the disciples overwhelmed; they looked up amidst the roaring wind, almost as if they were looking up at a divine being.
The mountain-moving Li Hongjiu didn't fly too far but rather headed toward the lair of the fire bats, hovering over the abyss-like Sky Pit.
"Suppress!" With a shout, Li Hongjiu released his hold.
The massive, narrow-based tornado immediately plunged like a gigantic cone straight into the Sky Pit.
Boom—a thunderous tremor, as dust burst forth.
Li Hongjiu, descending toward the ground, flung his arms and sleeves, and the whirling wind's residual force immediately sent shockwaves in all directions.
As the gust passed, the dust subsided in an instant; he lightly landed at the edge of the Sky Pit to find that a whole mountain had been dropped in, yet there remained a gap to completely fill it, such was the enormity of this Sky Pit.
But it was sufficient to block off the lair of those strange bats.
Unaware of any other exits to the monster lair below, he glanced back at the swiftly approaching Yanbao Sect disciples, seemingly helpless.
The reason he had caused such a disturbance was his fear that these weird bats might harm this group of disciples; he himself was not afraid and had initially intended to observe them up close, driven by curiosity, which was his purpose in entering this Forbidden Land.
He hadn't wanted them to come, but a group insisted on following, and that left him quite helpless.
