Absolute Beast Dominion

Chapter 110: Colossus - 3

[Solar Beam]!

[Solar Beam]!

Shyra sprang high, as both Leo and Niri released their Solar Beams toward the massive stone head—still staring forward, unmoving. Maybe it simply couldn't turn.

But that didn't mean it couldn't sense them.

A wall of earth erupted violently in the path of the twin beams. The blasts shattered through the first wall with a crackling boom, then slammed into the next, and the next—an unending gauntlet of jagged barricades. When the beam finally reached the creature's head, it only managed to sear a shallow line across its hardened shell. The molten glow lasted a heartbeat before cooling again, an entirely new layer of earth sweeping over it like armour that refused to stay damaged.

Its defence was nothing short of monstrous. The same Solar beam that took out 3-cored golems and 10 cored golems, was severely lacking against the Cragveil Colossus.

Again, Leo and Niri charged a Solar Beam. Again, they fired. Again, the earth melted for a moment—then hardened.

Again. And again.

Until eventually… nothing.

Niri's breath wavered, and her body shimmered with faint sparks before dimming entirely. She'd hit her mana limit. Leo immediately pulled her back into his spiritual space, hoping she could recover quickly.

Shyra, meanwhile, wove between the Colossus's attacks without stopping for even a blink, each tremor of earth or crashing boulder skimming past her by a hair. Dust and stone sprayed behind her like ripples on water.

Leo exhaled sharply.

"Even with my higher stats… keeping that up would be a nightmare."

He knew damn well he couldn't dodge like that for long.

He flicked open Shyra's description again, eyes darting across her traits.

"Feline agility… that's a trait, right? Shouldn't I share her traits…?" His brows pulled together. He remembered the earlier repelling force—the impact that sent him flying, yet Shyra handled it with relative ease than him.

"Obsidian Hide… yeah, definitely can't use that." He muttered while charging another Solar Beam, the faint heat warming his palms.

"And even Explosive Power…"

His mind replayed the moments when Shyra emerged from stealth and tore through a beast in one brutal movement—like a small shadow detonating.

Explosive Power: Panthers strike with sudden bursts of strength. This cub's lineage allows it to unleash immense force in short intervals, making its attacks deceptively lethal despite its small frame.

He groaned. "Out of all this, the only thing I can use is Silent Predator."

Silent Predator: Natural stealth combined with fluid movement. In the wild, it is capable of approaching prey unnoticed until it strikes at their weak points.

"And even then, all I get is the ability to see weak points—not even move silently."

He clicked his tongue. "System, why's that? Shouldn't my talent let me share her traits properly?"

<Host's talent allows him to share traits of beasts, but Beast Bond must reach a considerable stage for full sharing.>

<Currently, only partial usage of a single trait is available. At 60% bloodbond, one trait becomes fully usable; at 70%, two; 80%, three; 90%, four. At 100%, Soul Bond forms.>

"What about other beast taming talents?"

<If their talent permits, they may share traits. Otherwise, no—they cannot share traits or even stats until the soul bond stage. At that point, fusion unlocks, allowing the beast to assimilate with the tamer and lend its full strength.>

His newly charged Solar Beam fired again—same result. No real damage. He sighed and began charging another one. Honestly, fighting this Colossus wasn't dangerous so long as its attacks remained slow and predictable. More of a chore than a battle. So he let his mind wander while Shyra handled the exhausting dodgework.

"Wait—does that mean my talent is only useful against people who haven't reached soul bond with their beasts?"

<Negative.>

<At fusion level, normal taming talents receive 100% of their beast's stats only while using their fusion skill actively, which costs excessive mana to both activate and maintain. These tamers do not gain traits—only temporary strength.>

<However, 'Primordial Beast Taming' is a special case. It allows a Beast Master to wield 100% of a beast's strength and traits passively, without any active skill. Upon fusion, total stat amplification reaches 200%.>

The words hit him like a thunderbolt.

Leo's eyes widened, excitement surging so violently that his charged beam wobbled and discharged early, spraying a weaker blast across the Colossus's face. His hands shook—he couldn't help it.

"You're kidding—this is awesome! Even getting fifty to seventy percent stats already feels busted, but 200% at fusion? Way to fucking go!!"

"Huaha haha—HAHAHAHA!"He burst into manic laughter, imagining himself someday punching mountains into gravel.

"Haha… aha… ha…"

It tapered off quickly when his gaze drifted to the bond percentage.

Shyra: 49% (BloodBond)

Niri: 54% (BloodBond)

His face twisted. "Fuck… can't even share a single trait properly."

At once, he was struck by the reminder that he couldn't even pinpoint weak spots as cleanly as Shyra. Even that trait was half-baked for him.

"Then… what trait do I share with Niri?"

He pulled up her traits.

[Fast Regeneration]

[Tough Body]

[Half-Spirit]

[High Mana Regeneration]

"Oh. Fast Regeneration—yeah, that one makes sense."

His eyes narrowed. "Wait… Half-Spirit? System, what happens if I gain the Half-Spirit trait?"

<Host may exist partially between the realms of nature and mana. Grants partial immunity to toxins, paralysis, and soul-based corruption.>

His jaw dropped. "That's like—like a race change… What if I don't want that?"

<Traits may be freely activated or deactivated by the Beast Master at will.>

"Fhew… thank god."

He wiped a smear of dirt and sweat from his forehead, exhaling in relief.

But as his mind wandered, he remembered Professor Brant's warning—how the Colossus possessed a trait that let it grow endlessly. His skin crawled at the thought. He couldn't even imagine turning into some mountain-sized titan… nor did he want to.

"What would happen to Lil—"

He abruptly cut the thought short, shaking his head hard.

"Anyway. I need to focus on dealing with this thing."

Being a saint for twenty days had already wound him up like a coiled spring. The mere flicker of Lily's perfect curves in his mind made the dragon stir with dangerous enthusiasm.

He forcibly shoved the thought aside.

Then a sudden, sharp idea sparked.

Leo extended his hand toward the colossal beast, a thin vibration humming in his palm as he focused on [Primordial Beast Taming], testing—hoping—to see if he could tame the Colossus directly.
