Super Rich from Winning a Lottery

Chapter 120: Heart Bleeding_2

"Not making a big deal out of it is good. It saves trouble, and we don't have to worry about it."

"And you'll definitely be inviting your third sister, her husband, your niece, and your nephew, right? With so many people, it will be plenty lively."

Yi Anguo nodded. "My main concern is that you'll feel wronged. It's all my fault. I've let you and our two children down."

"Don't say that," Hu Jing said. "I've already gained so much. I don't feel wronged in the slightest. I'm very content with the life we have today."

"Then it's settled," Yi Anguo said, making up his mind. "We'll book two tables at Chuan Yu Restaurant and just have a celebration with our own family."

Yi Anguo planned to take this opportunity to clear the air about his relationships with the women. Everyone already knows what's going on, so why not just be open about it? Once things are out in the open, we can all be one family and help each other. Wouldn't that be better?

He then found Li Sisi and shared his thoughts with her.

Li Sisi didn't quite agree. "If it were just me, then it wouldn't matter if you made things public."

"But now that Shan Shan is with you too, how will others view us sisters once you make it official?"

That is a problem, Yi Anguo thought. Two sisters with the same man... that would definitely cause trouble if word got out. This wasn't some ancient feudal society. A man with multiple women was already shocking enough, but for two of them to be sisters... that was truly inconceivable.

"Then what do you suggest we do?" Yi Anguo asked.

Li Sisi thought for a moment. "There's really no need to make things public. It's enough that we all know where we stand."

Yi Anguo nodded helplessly and went to ask Ding Jing for her opinion. Ding Jing agreed with Li Sisi, believing it was enough for them to understand the situation among themselves. There was no need to make it public, especially to outsiders. Even if others found out, they should just deny it. Although their children were born on Harbor Island and automatically held residency there, making any official complaints against them useless, it was still best to avoid trouble if possible. Keeping things unspoken was the best course of action.

Finally, Yi Anguo asked Chen Ting for her opinion. She felt the same way, agreeing that publicly acknowledging their relationships was unnecessary and would only invite trouble.

Chen Ting even told him, "You don't have to worry about me. My children will take my surname, Chen. They won't compete with your other children for your inheritance. However, Chen's Enterprise can only be inherited by my children; it has nothing to do with any of your others."

"However, they are still your children, so you must fulfill your duties as a father. You need to help me manage Chen's Enterprise until they come of age, developing it and making it bigger and stronger."

Although what Chen Ting said was true, Yi Anguo was still somewhat dissatisfied.

"So according to you, I'm just a workhorse and a stud for the Chen family?"

"How can you say that?" Chen Ting retorted. "Aren't they your children too?"

"They carry the surname Chen!" Yi Anguo stated.

"A child can take their father's name or their mother's. Who made the rule that they have to take their father's?" Chen Ting countered. "Just because they take their mother's surname, are they no longer your children? If a child takes the father's surname, does that mean he is no longer the mother's child?"

"You already have a son and two daughters. I'm the only daughter in the Chen family. Why is it so unacceptable for my children to take my surname?"

Yi Anguo was at a loss for words. In truth, he didn't care if he had sons or daughters and had no old-fashioned ideas about only sons being able to carry on the family line. He wasn't particularly stubborn about whether a child took their father's or mother's surname, either. He was unhappy because of Chen Ting's tone and the way she phrased things. It made him feel like he was being used as a simple stud, as if his own children had nothing to do with him.

"Don't be upset," Chen Ting added. "Would you rather my children fight with your other children over your inheritance in the future?"

"Fine," Yi Anguo conceded helplessly. "As long as you're happy. Whatever you say goes."

"That's more like it," Chen Ting continued. "And don't worry. Our children will certainly help their brothers and sisters in the future. I won't raise them to disown their own siblings or refuse to see them."

"Even though they carry the surname Chen, they are still your children, sharing the same blood as your other children—that bond cannot be severed."

Chen Ting knew she had probably gone too far and upset him. But she couldn't bring herself to imagine dividing Chen's Enterprise among Yi Anguo's other children in the future. She admitted to herself that she wasn't a generous woman, not when it came to this.
