Super Rich from Winning a Lottery

Chapter 226: First Meeting After 18 Years

Whether it was Yi Anguo or Guo Aihua, neither could calm their thoughts. Yi Anguo was filled with complex emotions regarding Guo Aihua; he desperately wanted to see her immediately and question why she left without a word.

But after thinking it over, Yi Anguo's heart gradually calmed down, feeling that questioning her about leaving without notice might already be meaningless now.

The Guo Aihua of those years was already a rich family's daughter. Being able to fall in love with a poor boy like him and even giving her virginity to him was something he couldn't fathom how many lifetimes of good karma he had accumulated to deserve. How could he wish for a rich heiress to defy her parents' objection and insist on spending her life with a poor boy?

Even though Yi Anguo didn't know if Guo Aihua's parents actually opposed their daughter being with a poor boy.

Just thinking about it, it would be understandable that no reasonable person would want their daughter to be with a poor boy.

Now as a parent, Yi Anguo pondered, if one day his daughter brought home a poor boy and said she wanted to marry him, he likely wouldn't be very happy either.

He wouldn't necessarily oppose it strongly, but he wouldn't be entirely agreeable either.

Historically, marriage has always emphasized compatibility in social status, and there is some reason to that.

While it's not absolute, it's often the case.

The harsher the circumstances, the more likely it seems to trigger this inherent instinct.

Guo Aihua was also filled with emotions, eager to meet Yi Anguo immediately; she too had much to say to him.

Guo Aihua of those days didn't really leave without a word; she left a letter for Yi Anguo at the hotel front desk, entrusting the staff to give it to him when he came looking for her.

In this letter, she explained her family background and identity, including her family's address and telephone number in Singapore, hoping to keep in touch with Yi Anguo by correspondence.

Back then, there was no WeChat or QQ, even pagers were scarce, leaving addresses for correspondence was the most ordinary and normal way of communication.

Guo Aihua very much wanted to question Yi Anguo, why he didn't write to her, why didn't he contact her? Why did he leave that factory so quickly?

The next day at ten in the morning, Yi Anguo brought only Yang Hai with him, arriving at the presidential suite of the Fuhua Hotel to meet with Guo Aihua.

Upon seeing Guo Aihua, Yi Anguo gestured for Yang Hai to wait outside. The two of them stared at each other for a long time without speaking.

Despite having countless words they wanted to say, at that moment, they were a bit at a loss, not knowing where to start.

"Anguo! Is it really you? Am I dreaming?" Guo Aihua finally spoke after long silence.

Yi Anguo said nothing, merely nodding slowly.

Despite eighteen years having passed, and neither being the young, naive people they once were, but mature and stable middle-aged individuals, their appearances had changed little, allowing them to recognize each other at a glance.

Though they were together for a short time back then, they had etched each other's images into their minds, difficult to forget for a lifetime.

"Eighteen years, all these years I've been looking for you. Why didn't you write me a single letter or make a single phone call, leaving me to wait for you with our son for eighteen years, searching for you for eighteen years," Guo Aihua continued.

But as she spoke, tears shimmered in her eyes, her emotions becoming somewhat agitated.

"Son? What son?" Yi Anguo asked, puzzled.

"Eighteen years ago, when you disappeared without a word, how was I supposed to write to you? How was I supposed to call you? Where would I send the letter? How would I know your phone number?"

"Of course it's our son, who else's could it be?" Guo Aihua replied with a sob.

"Back then, after we indulged in the forbidden fruit, I found out I was pregnant soon after returning to Singapore. Later, when my father and I came back to the country to find you, you were no longer at the previous factory."

"When I left back then, I left a letter for you at the hotel front desk; didn't you receive it?"

"In the letter, I included my address in Singapore and the home phone number for you, but for eighteen years, you didn't write me one letter or make one phone call."

"Did you leave me a letter? I had no idea!" Yi Anguo exclaimed.

"When I went looking for you, the hotel said you had already checked out, and they didn't give me any letter."

"I thought maybe your father knew about us and didn't approve, so he took you away without a word."

"Although I left that factory, I worked at another nearby factory in that town for over ten years, never receiving any message from you."

"How could this be? How could the hotel staff fail to pass my letter to you? Their service is indeed too poor! And they're a three-star hotel," Guo Aihua said angrily.
