Noah was waiting for his guest.
This time, even he did not know who the Primordial Empire would send. But he was certain of one thing. Whoever came would not be ordinary. The empire never moved without purpose, and it never sent weak envoys when dealing with anomalies.
Instead of worrying, Noah did what he always did when uncertainty approached.
He comprehended the laws.
The moment his focus sharpened, layers of reality peeled back in his perception. Causality, entropy, space, and identity intertwined like endless equations.
Noah had noticed one thing that if he comprehended the law actively, the petals of the lotus of creation would start becoming mature quickly than it's passive pace.
Just as he was sinking deeper into that state, a knock echoed through the house.
Noah opened his eyes.
"Brother?"
Naomi's voice came from the other side of the door.
He stood up and opened it. Naomi looked at him with her usual calm expression, though there was a hint of curiosity in her eyes.
"Food is almost ready," she said. "Mom asked if we should wait for the guest or not."
Noah extended his perception outward. Nothing had changed yet. No spatial distortions. No causal tremors. No intrusion.
"The guest has not made a move yet," he replied. "We should start dinner."
Naomi nodded and turned to leave. Noah followed her downstairs.
Dinner at the Aldric household was a simple but warm affair. The table was filled with freshly baked bread, steaming soup, roasted vegetables, and seasoned meat. The smell alone carried comfort. For Noah, this ordinary scene was more precious than entire galaxies.
They had barely begun eating when something shifted.
Noah froze for a fraction of a second.
Someone had entered his mental range.
That alone was absurd.
His mental domain already enveloped the entire known universe. Every star, every void, every thread of existence fell within his awareness. Yet the universe was still expanding, and Noah constantly had to expand his mental reach alongside it.
This presence had not crossed any boundary. It had simply appeared there.
Noah couldn't feel any space distortion too. He wanted to know where the empire would open it's portal, but he failed. Beside Noah had noticed another thing too.
Even the Supreme Empires were not located within the known universe. The last time Noah had encountered one, he had only managed to reach it through the guidance of its own citizens. From the inside, it had felt like being within the universe. But from the outside, now that he searched deliberately, he could not find them at all.
It was as if something stood between him and the truth.
"The universe really is mysterious," Noah murmured internally. "It feels like a veil has been cast over everything by a higher being. And I have not yet reached the level required to see through it."
The presence drew closer.
The being who had entered the known universe was powerful. As powerful as Noah himself.
That meant only one thing.
A world level being.
Someone who had far surpassed normal realms of existence but had not yet broken into the universe realm.
What truly surprised Noah was the age.
"He looks young," Noah thought. "Around thirty, maybe less. How did someone like this reach such a level so early?"
A supreme prodigy.
For the first time in a long while, Noah felt genuine excitement.
"Mom," Noah said aloud, setting his spoon down. "Let us wait five more minutes."
Martha looked at him in confusion. "Wait for what?"
"The guest will arrive soon."
They had just sat down, and five more minutes would not hurt.
Martha hesitated but nodded. Eric remained completely absorbed in his own thoughts, chewing contentedly.
Martha turned to Noah again. "Who is this guest you keep mentioning?"
"He is a powerful being from outside the universe," Noah replied gently. "But do not worry. I am here."
Martha's eyes widened. She covered her mouth with her hands. She had never left the planet in her life, and now someone from outside the universe was supposedly coming to their home.
Eric finally spoke, completely missing the tension.
"Son," he said proudly, "people love me very much. When I told them I am a baker, you should have seen their eyes. Full of respect."
Noah smiled.
Seeing his father so happy grounded him more than any law ever could.
At that moment, the young man arrived at the edge of the solar system.
He did not head straight for Earth.
He had work to do first.
Two civilizations had contacted the Primordial Empire.
They lived on a near barren planet not far from this star system. They had not attempted to flee.
They knew the rules.
If they ran, their entire bloodline would be erased from existence once captured.
If they stayed, only their epic and mythical beings would be harvested.
The young man wore a white battle suit that seemed seamlessly grown rather than manufactured. Nine flying swords hovered behind him in perfect formation. They were not weapons alone. They were extensions of the suit itself.
His long red hair flowed freely, and on his forehead was the curved mark of a dragon.
He appeared above the planet and spoke calmly.
"All beings above the epic realm, come forward and commit suicide. I will not make things difficult for your civilizations."
Two supreme leaders stepped out, followed by their epic and mythical elites.
One of them bowed deeply.
"Sir," Archon Valerius said, his voice trembling, "may we make one request?"
"You are in no position to ask for favors," the young man replied coldly. "But let's hear it."
Hope ignited in their eyes, then twisted into hatred.
"Sir," Valerius said, "please kill the anomaly. He will definitely become a threat to the empire someday."
The young man did not reply.
He spoke a single word.
"Die."
The command carried authority beyond law. Beyond resistance.
The leaders and elites clutched their own chests and crushed their hearts. Their bodies fell lifeless.
The remaining population did not dare to scream.
The young man activated a device. Streams of colorful light rose from the corpses and entered it.They were the souls of the fallen people.
He did not look back.
He entered the solar system.
As he approached Earth, a portal appeared before him.
"Hello."
The voice echoed directly in his mind.
The young man showed no emotion. He stepped through the portal.
When he emerged, he found himself standing in a dining room.
A mortal family sat around a table.
Except for one man.
A handsome young man whose power could not be gauged.
Even the Great Core AI within the battle suit failed to produce data.
For the first time in years, the young man encountered something unknown.
Yet he did not panic.
"Come," Noah said warmly. "Let us eat first. We can talk later."
The young man paused, then took a seat beside Noah.
Martha served him food.
"I am Noah Alric," Noah said casually while eating.
"I am Arthur Valentine," the young man replied.
He took a bite.
The moment the food touched his tongue, something broke inside him.
Memories surfaced.
The memories of his childhood.
His mother had died giving birth to him. His father was the head of the Valentine Duke family. His grandfather was one of the Nine Dukes of the empire.
There had been no warmth. Only expectations.
He became the youngest battalion commander in the history of the empire. A world realm being at thirty one years old. A prodigy among prodigies.
That was why he was sent.
To recruit the anomaly who deemed very important to the Higherups of the empire.
"The food is good," Arthur said quietly.
"Eat more, son!" Martha said with a smile. "There is plenty."
Arthur froze.
Warmth flooded his chest when he heard the word son.
"Thank you," he said without realizing it.
Noah noticed everything.
He smiled. He wouldn't have to kill this man afterall.
After dinner, Noah stood. "Let us talk."
They went upstairs.
Noah sat and gestured for Arthur to do the same.
"So," Noah said, "who are you?"
"I am the commander of the 76th Battalion of the imperial army," Arthur replied. "And you?"
"I am Noah."
"Do you know someone named Albedos Sorus?" Noah asked directly.
Arthur frowned slightly. "I know Kael Sorus. An acting count. He is a Colonel in the army. But I have never heard of Albedos Sorus."
Noah was observing his expression to see if there was any hostility in his eyes when he heard the name. He wanted to befriended this man. Becuase he would need ally once he entered the empire.
"Tell me your purpose," Noah said.
"I want you to join the empire."
Noah considered something. Then he took out a seal.
Arthur's eyes flickered with surprise.
"I see! Then when will you come to the empire?" Arthur asked calmly.
"I will go to the empire in three months," Noah said. "Keep this a secret. I will owe you a favor."
Arthur nodded. "Alright."
He turned to leave, but then stopped suddenly.
He wanted say something but was hesitating.
Noah smiled. "Come with me."
They went downstairs. Noah packed food prepared by his mother and handed it to Arthur.
"You can keep this."
Arthur looked at Noah with satisfaction.
"Thank you. You owe me nothing anymore," he said. "Goodbye."
