"You're being far too polite, Brother Fei," Chen Hao said gratefully. "If it weren't for your miraculous help, I might be lying in a hospital bed right now, not knowing if I'd ever get out. Oh, right, Brother Fei, a friend of mine invited me to a dinner banquet tonight. Would you be interested in coming along to check it out?"
"A dinner banquet? What kind of banquet?" Chen Fei asked, pausing.
"It seems to be a birthday banquet for Wuu Guangbin, the young master of Global Entertainment. While I'm not close to him, a friend invited me. I thought since we're all about the same age, you might be interested, Brother Fei," Chen Hao explained with a smile. "And since Wuu Guangbin's family runs Global Entertainment, which is one of the top companies of its kind in Hong Kong, I expect a lot of movie stars will be there. It should be pretty lively."
"So it's Global Entertainment," Chen Fei mused, rubbing his chin as understanding dawned on him.
As one of the biggest tycoons in Hong Kong's entertainment industry, Global Entertainment not only had a roster of superstars but also a significant reputation on the Inland. In fact, a movie star Chen Fei had admired as a child was apparently with Global Entertainment. This suddenly piqued his interest, making him want to go and see it for himself.
With that thought, Chen Fei smiled and said, "Alright, then. I'll head over after I finish my dinner."
"Excellent! Then you go ahead and eat, Brother Fei. I'll bring the car around to the gate and wait for you," Chen Hao replied, nodding with a smile. He was relieved he hadn't immediately refused the invitation earlier, or he would have missed this chance to curry favor with Chen Fei.
"Alright, that's enough. I'm not that formal," Chen Fei said, a bit exasperated. "Don't treat me like some old man in his seventies. Have you eaten yet? If not, join me."
"I've… uh, no, I haven't. Let's eat together, then," Chen Hao replied. Seeing how approachable Chen Fei was—not at all the rigid, terrifying figure his parents had imagined—his nervousness gradually melted away.
Young people, after all, are better off being a little bold. Being too cautious just doesn't seem very youthful.
With the acting head of the Chen Family, Chen Yaoyang, personally overseeing things, the specially hired first-class chefs at the Chen Family Villa naturally displayed their superb skills. A dazzling variety of exquisite dishes was brought out by the servants and laid upon the long dining table in the living room. Chen Fei, for a rare change, indulged in a top-tier, luxurious feast, eating to his heart's content.
As one of Hong Kong's Five Great Tycoon Families, the Chen Family was indeed different from an ordinary wealthy family; they valued taste and substance. Even their meals possessed the same refined elegance as those of the British nobility, giving the country-bred Chen Fei a real taste of high society.
After the satisfying meal, Chen Fei followed Chen Hao to his private garage. The collection of luxury cars parked inside was dazzling, almost too many to take in at once.
"Brother Fei, how about we take this one?" Chen Hao suggested after they entered, pointing to a sky-blue Ferrari.
Chen Fei followed his finger and saw a sky-blue luxury car that was clearly distinct from a standard Ferrari. It sat quietly among the other high-end vehicles, its incredibly cool design making it stand out. Even the Lamborghini Veneno parked beside it seemed a bit dull in comparison, which genuinely surprised Chen Fei.
"What car is this?" he asked, pointing at the Ferrari.
"Brother Fei, this is a Ferrari LaFerrari," Chen Hao responded immediately.
"A what? A La-whatsit? Ah, whatever, let's take it. Mind if I give it a try?" Chen Fei asked, his face a mask of confusion that quickly cleared.
"Of course not, of course not! Please, Brother Fei, you drive," Chen Hao said, nodding quickly. Though he was worried about his prized possession and whether Chen Fei could actually handle such a top-tier sports car, he didn't dare show a hint of doubt.
Well, if I die, I die, he thought miserably. There are so many cars in Hong Kong, it would be hard to get killed even in a crash.
He could only offer himself this bitter consolation.
Soon after, the sky-blue Ferrari LaFerrari slowly pulled out of the Chen Family Villa. It had to be said, Chen Fei was clearly not a good driver, especially since he had never even touched a top-tier supercar like this before. He was completely fumbling at first, which terrified Chen Hao in the passenger seat, leaving him drenched in a cold sweat.
However, Chen Fei was Chen Fei. With his now terrifyingly fast reflexes and cognitive speed, he quickly adapted to the supercar's rhythm and began to handle it with masterful ease. Watching from the passenger seat, Chen Hao was utterly flabbergasted; it seemed unbelievable.
Given the nightmarish start to their journey, Chen Hao could have sworn a million times over that Chen Fei had never driven a top-tier luxury car before. Yet, as his control over the vehicle soared exponentially, Chen Hao could hardly believe his eyes.
This wasn't a dream or a movie scene. Who could master the fierce driving skills needed for a top-tier supercar so magically and quickly? Unless he was some kind of monster!
And so, feeling deeply shocked and humbled, Chen Fei drove the sky-blue LaFerrari to a top-tier private club on Hong Kong Island.
As the young master of Global Entertainment, one of Hong Kong's premier entertainment companies, Wuu Guangbin's 22nd birthday banquet had naturally attracted a lot of attention, especially from the Hong Kong paparazzi. Most of the attendees tonight were entertainment industry insiders, making them prime targets. As for the other tycoons and influential figures from Hong Kong and Macau, they were savvy enough not to dig their own graves by attracting unwanted press.
Thus, the area outside the top-tier private club was incredibly lively tonight. Not only was it packed with luxury cars, but major players and movie stars from the Hong Kong and Macau entertainment circles arrived one after another, heavily made-up and dressed to the nines, as if they were attending a prestigious awards ceremony.
As for the female celebrities, they were particularly ostentatious. With plunging necklines and bared backs, their sultry, curvaceous figures were wrapped in scant, tantalizing evening gowns. Lace contrasted with soft silk, complemented by long, pale legs and fair skin. It was truly a vision of "paradise on earth," brimming with sensual energy.
When Chen Fei and Chen Hao arrived, they wanted to avoid any unnecessary trouble. Since this private club was, in fact, an enterprise of the Chen Family, Chen Hao simply directed Chen Fei to enter through the rear to avoid being snapped by the shameless paparazzi.
As they drove up to the back gate, Chen Hao didn't even roll down the window, but the doormen saw the car and respectfully let them pass at once. Obviously, there was only one sky-blue Ferrari LaFerrari in all of Hong Kong, and it was the personal vehicle of the Young Master of the Chen Family—Chen Hao.
Of course, the doormen wouldn't dare to stop them.
"Wow, a birthday party for the young master of Global Entertainment is truly a star-studded affair. Hey, isn't that Liu Deye? And Ren Xianqi is here too…" After parking, a low-key Chen Fei and a hatted Chen Hao entered the club.
Along the way, Chen Fei couldn't help but marvel at the scene. Global Entertainment truly lived up to its name. The fact that so many superstars would grace the 22nd birthday party of the owner's son was a testament to their influence. Not to mention the countless second and third-tier stars; at a glance, seven or eight out of every ten people were familiar faces from television or the big screen, rivaling a top-tier year-end awards ceremony.
The arrival of Chen Fei and Chen Hao, however, went largely unnoticed. Chen Fei wasn't part of the circle or even from Hong Kong. As for Chen Hao, despite being the Young Master of the Chen Family, one of the Five Great Tycoon Families, few people at an event of this level would recognize him, especially since he was wearing a hat and deliberately keeping a low profile.
"Brother Fei! Brother Fei!" Just then, a surprised yet pleasant voice called out from his side.
Chen Fei turned, startled. Not far away, an exceptionally beautiful and vibrant young woman was walking toward him with a look of delight. She was wearing a light purple evening gown of soft silk, which flawlessly showcased her long, slender legs and full, rounded hips.
Beside her stood another stunningly tall beauty, who carried herself with a more mature and dignified air. It was none other than the famous A-list actress, Hu Yinglan. She was also considered a pillar of Huashu Media, earning her the title of "Top Sister" within the company and a stellar reputation in the industry.
"Fei Shuang, is that you?" Chen Fei exclaimed, shocked as he recognized the young woman. It was Gu Feishuang.
"Brother Fei, it really is you?"
Seeing him turn toward her, a joyful expression blossomed on Gu Feishuang's beautiful face. Tapping her crystal high heels, she swayed over to him, the light purple silk of her dress clinging to her graceful waist. She then intimately linked her arm with his. "This is wonderful! I can't believe I ran into you here. Brother Fei, we meet again! Hee hee."
"It really is a coincidence," Chen Fei said, just as surprised to see her. "I thought you were busy filming. What brings you to Hong Kong?"
"I am filming in Hong Kong," Gu Feishuang replied, giving him a charming look. "Our crew was supposed to be working overtime to meet a deadline, but we received an invitation to Young Master Wuu Guangbin's birthday party tonight, so we had no choice but to come join the fun. What about you, Brother Fei?"
Just as she spoke, Hu Yinglan, the "Top Sister" of Huashu Media, walked over with a smile.
Her eyes briefly flickered to where Gu Feishuang held Chen Fei's arm, her brow furrowing slightly before relaxing just as quickly. Her bright, beautiful eyes swept over Chen Fei with curiosity. "Hello, sir, I'm Hu Yinglan," she said with a gentle smile. "Fei Shuang, you've run into a friend? Don't get so absorbed in your conversation that you forget all about your Sister Yinglan."
"No, that's not it, Sister Yinglan!"
Gu Feishuang stuck out her tongue sheepishly and quickly made the introductions. "Sister Yinglan, this is my friend, Mr. Chen Fei. Brother Fei, this is Hu Yinglan. Sister Yinglan is a famous star at our Huashu Media. You must recognize her, right?"
"Of course," Chen Fei said with a smile, extending his hand. "I'm actually a fan, Sister Yinglan. I particularly loved your performance in *Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon*. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sister Yinglan. I'm Chen Fei."
