Chapter 0287: Trouble Knocking Again?

After leaving the Special Security Bureau of the Provincial Military Region, Chen Fei bid farewell to Chief Luo Yuanzhi and Zhao Zhengguo and left on his own. For one, such a huge commotion meant both Chief Luo Yuanzhi and Zhao Zhengguo had to return to their respective duties to handle the aftermath. For another, Chen Fei still felt somewhat uncomfortable and awkward having just met such a high-ranking official.

It's a strange feeling, the sheer weight of the title. After all, positions like his have been endlessly publicized on television since I was a kid. Over time, that kind of thing gets subconsciously ingrained in your mind, making it feel so important.

After parting ways with Chief Luo and Zhao Zhengguo, Chen Fei realized he had nowhere to go, so he simply decided to call Dong Jianhui. "Hey, it's me, Chen Fei. Jianhui, where are you?"

"Fei... Brother Fei!? Are you alright?" Dong Jianhui's first reaction to the call was shock, which quickly turned into utter disbelief. How could Brother Fei be out already!? They let him go from *that* place? And so quickly?

"Nonsense. What could possibly happen to me?" Chen Fei said, a hint of irritation in his voice as he rubbed his nose. "Where are you guys now? I just got out, and it seems I've got nowhere to go."

"Oh, oh! I'm still at Brother Shang's Dongyun International Private Club. Where are you now, Brother Fei? I can come pick you up," Dong Jianhui stammered after a brief pause, his reply eager and hurried.

"Is Brother Chen alright?" Just then, Zhou Shang approached, a flicker in his eyes as he asked. With my understanding of Chen Fei's strength, I knew he wouldn't be in any real trouble. But I never expected him to be released so quickly, especially from a place like the Provincial Military Region's Security Bureau. The connections he has must be astonishing.

"Yeah, Brother Fei's fine. I'm about to go pick him up…" Dong Jianhui began, but Chen Fei's voice cut him off from the phone. "Forget it, don't go to the trouble. I know the place. I'll just grab a cab. Wait for me at the entrance."

"Uh, okay then. I'll head down and wait for you now," Dong Jianhui replied after a slight pause.

「About half an hour later.」

A frustrated-looking Chen Fei appeared before Dong Jianhui, who was waiting at the entrance of the Dongyun International Private Club. Brother Zhou Shang was there as well.

"Brother Chen, how are you? Is everything okay?" Zhou Shang asked the moment he saw him.

"No real trouble. I'm just pissed off about being dragged into that place for no reason," Chen Fei replied, shaking his head before his tone shifted. "Brother Shang, is there anything fun to do at this club? I really need to blow off some steam." Anyone would be in a foul mood after an incident like that. Right now, I just want to vent and get rid of this anger.

"Blow off some steam?" Dong Jianhui was taken aback for a second, then he leaned in and whispered hesitantly, "How about Brother Shang arranges for a couple of starlets or models for you, Brother Fei?"

Starlets and models? The corner of Chen Fei's mouth twitched. "What kind of lousy idea is that? I'm not into that," he said, annoyed. "Don't they have those fighting rings on TV? Does Tongzhou City have anything like that? Can you get me into a couple of matches for fun?"

"A fighting ring?" Dong Jianhui hesitated. "But most of those are just for show. Even if you find a few decent fighters, they'd be like infants compared to you, Brother Fei. Wouldn't it be boring?"

"Jianhui is right," Zhou Shang added with a nod. "Unless it's the top-tier national underground circuit, it's like playing house for people like us. There's no appeal, and it definitely won't help you blow off any steam."

"Is that so? Then..." Hearing this, Chen Fei was at a loss. He was in a genuinely foul mood and desperately needed an outlet, but it seemed there were no good options.

Seeing Chen Fei's expression, Zhou Shang hesitated for a moment before slowly suggesting, "If you really want to fight, Brother Chen, I suppose I can risk life and limb to keep a hero company. How about we have a little fun?" He was quite hesitant to say this, knowing full well that Chen Fei's strength far exceeded his own. For him, "having fun" really just meant taking another beating.

"Uh, let's not. You shouldn't use that hand for the next few days. Otherwise, you might suffer permanent damage, and it's not worth it," Chen Fei said, his expression freezing for a second before he shook his head sheepishly. What a joke. He's clearly just offering to let me beat him up so I can vent. No matter how thick-skinned I am, I can't do that, especially since we only met today.

"But—" Just as Zhou Shang heard Chen Fei's refusal and was about to say more, a man in black with an extremely cold demeanor suddenly appeared. He walked over, leaned close to Zhou Shang's ear, and whispered, "Brother Shang, O'Kenney and his people are here. They followed us."

"What? O'Kenney?" Even Zhou Shang's expression changed slightly at the name. "Isn't he in Manhattan, New York?" he asked in a grave tone. "How did he track us here?"

"Brother Shang, what's going on?" Chen Fei asked, his curiosity piqued. My intuition is screaming that trouble has arrived.

"I snatched something from them back in Manhattan. I guess they weren't willing to let it go," Zhou Shang explained with a cold snort. "To think they'd actually follow me all the way here from America. They've got some nerve." This is Huaxia, not America. They have some serious guts, daring to chase me onto my own turf.

"Americans? Interesting," Chen Fei said, his face lighting up with enthusiasm. "Let's go have a look."

The black-clad man paused, then added in a hushed voice, "Brother Shang... it seems that monster from the Houston Family came with O'Kenney."

"What did you say?!" Zhou Shang's pupils shrank, and his expression turned grim. "That monster came too?" he muttered to himself. "If that's true, this is going to be trouble..."

"That monster? What's that?" Chen Fei couldn't help but ask.

"It's a bio-human, a weapon of war created by the Americans with their advanced technology," Zhou Shang explained. "The Houston Family is one of the top ten families in America. It's said they're protected by more than one S-Level Ability User, and they have the capability to manufacture these bioengineered weapons." He paused for a moment before continuing, "These living weapons are graded just like Ability Users, from D-Level to S-Level. That monster is one of the Houston Family's few A+ Level bio-humans. Its strength is comparable to mine, perhaps even slightly greater."

"A bio-human? A weapon of war?" Chen Fei's expression immediately brightened, and a smile curled his lips. "It's like someone handing you a pillow when you're sleepy. The heavens must know I'm in a bad mood today and decided to send a punching bag my way. Now this is interesting."

"Uh, Brother Chen, you're planning to fight that thing?" Zhou Shang asked, startled. Then he suddenly remembered that the person standing right in front of him was the *real* monster. He's an Innate Ancient Martial Artist, and he's only in his twenties. A so-called A+ Level bio-weapon is nothing to him. Not even worth mentioning.

"What else? In your current state, could you fight a guy like that?" Chen Fei retorted, glancing at Zhou Shang's injured hand.

"Does this mean we're in for a good show?" Dong Jianhui said, practically itching to stir up trouble. "As far as I know, Brother Fei has never failed to deliver. That O'Kenney guy is arrogant enough to chase us onto our turf here in Huaxia. We can't just let that slide without teaching him a lesson he won't forget, right?" After all, this is Huaxia. And with Brother Fei here, what's there to be afraid of? If anything, they're the ones who should be scared. Those Americans have no idea what they're walking into.

"Alright then." A cold light flickered in Zhou Shang's eyes, and his face settled into a mask of indifference. "Li Wan, go and bring O'Kenney and his people here. It's been a while. Tell him... I've missed him."

"...Yes." The black-clad man named Li Wan found the command absurd and shot a baffled look at Chen Fei, but he didn't argue or disobey the order. He simply bowed slightly, then retreated and left.

"Let's go. The club has a fighting arena. We'll wait for them there," Zhou Shang said with a wave of his hand, leading Dong Jianhui and Chen Fei back inside the Dongyun International Private Club and into the same training ground where he and Chen Fei had sparred earlier.

「An hour or two later.」

The man in black with the icy demeanor, Li Wan, returned with several blond-haired, blue-eyed foreigners in tow.

"Oh, my dear Zhou Shang of Huaxia. We finally meet again." The speaker, a blond Caucasian in a suit, was clearly the leader of the group. He stepped slowly into the training ground, his blue eyes cold and filled with a menacing, fierce light. He stared at Zhou Shang, enunciating every word as a palpable, murderous aura radiated from him. If it weren't for Zhou Shang—if he hadn't stolen that critical piece of scientific research from me—I, O'Kenney Houston, would never have traveled thousands of miles across mountains and rivers to this unfamiliar country for revenge! The higher-ups have already given me a direct order, a death sentence of a mission: Either get the research back before Zhou Shang hands it over to the Huaxia officials, or bring back that damned Huaxia man's head. There is no third option.
