Chapter 0388: Glory Page vs Magic Artifact Bronze Mirror!

When the snow-white page emerged from the box, the entire area where Jack the Blade stood seemed to be enveloped in holy light. Streams of milky-white, sacred energy poured out endlessly like a tide, instantly filling the air and transforming it into a viscous sea of light.

Standing at the very center of that sea of light, Jack the Blade cast a gloomy glance at Chen Fei. Then, with a slight tremor in his hand, he gave the astonished Yama an indifferent look and whispered hoarsely, "It's just one page. Nothing to make a fuss about."

Legend had it that the Vatican Holy See Church possessed three great Holy Artifacts: the Holy Light Scepter, the Hand of Light God, and the Book of Glory, each held by one of the Church's three major families. The Nuo Deng Family, which Yama had just exclaimed about, was one of them.

The three Holy Artifacts had always been the supreme treasures of the Holy Church of the Divine Holy Church, guarded with the utmost secrecy. But now, one of these items had appeared in the hands of Jack the Blade, the King of Assassins from the Dark World. How could Yama not be shocked and utterly puzzled?

Though it was rumored that the Book of Glory contained five pages and this was merely one of them, it was still shocking enough to leave him in disbelief.

Wait a minute...

Suddenly, Yama's aged eyes trembled violently as if he had just recalled something. He muttered in astonishment, "Could it be that the deputy bishop of the Holy Church of the Divine Holy Church he assassinated years ago... was actually a member of the Nuo Deng Family?"

However, even as he reeled from his astonishment, the confrontation on the battlefield reignited.

BOOM!

Jack the Blade held the Glory Page, his cold gaze locked onto Chen Fei, his lips curled into a sneer. The stare alone was like being targeted by a King Cobra lurking in the darkness, causing Chen Fei's body to involuntarily tremble as goosebumps crawled over his skin.

"I never expected that to kill a youngster like you, I would have to reveal a holy relic I haven't touched since the day I acquired it," Jack the Blade said, his tone chilling. "I must say, Eastern Lad, you should consider this an honor. To die by such a great Holy Artifact means your life will not have been lived in vain." His words indicated that all pretense was gone.

Yama's guess was correct. This is indeed what I accidentally obtained from that man after sneaking into the Holy Church of the Divine Holy Church to assassinate the deputy bishop. That old codger was one of the Nuo Deng Family's Elders, yet for some reason, he had stolen a page from his own family's Book of Glory, and I was the one who profited from it.

But an object like this is far too sensitive to be revealed... As this thought crossed his mind, his eyes swept ominously over everyone present. It seems I'll have to kill many more people.

Everyone here today, except for me, must die! None of them will see tomorrow's sun! I absolutely cannot let those old fossils from the Nuo Deng Family find out that this page of the Book of Glory is in my hands. Otherwise, even with my strength and status, it will mean immense trouble. Immense!

This thing... Amidst the surging holy energy, Chen Fei slowly raised his head. He stared at the Glory Page in Jack the Blade's hand, his expression one of astonishment. He could feel his whole body shaking and goosebumps rising. The sheer power contained within it terrified him.

He hadn't expected his opponent to possess such an item. It seemed to be on par with the Magic Artifacts from the Cultivator system he followed... they were on the exact same level.

However, this thought made him unconsciously curl the corners of his mouth into a faint smile. With a flip of his hand, he revealed a bronze mirror the size of his palm.

If a true Cultivator from the Cultivation World were to see the bronze mirror, they would likely raise their eyebrows in surprise and exclaim, "A low-grade Magic Artifact?" And they would be right. This was indeed the lowest tier of Magic Artifact in the Cultivation World.

This was the very confidence that allowed Chen Fei to come to Italy alone, with the so-called 'delusion' of taking down the Crimson Fang's lair. He had come very well prepared indeed.

A Holy Artifact? Too bad for him, I, Chen Fei, have a Magic Artifact of my own! Now, I just wonder whose is better—his so-called Holy Artifact, or my Magic Artifact?

His Cultivation Level was still too low. It had taken him this long just to painstakingly refine the materials from Tian Kui Peak into this single, low-grade item. If not for that, he would have unleashed his Divine Might long ago and crushed his opponent, instead of ending up in this embarrassing, battered state.

But even so, the power of the low-grade Magic Artifact in Chen Fei's hands was not to be underestimated. In fact, it was likely to give anyone a huge shock.

"You..." When Jack the Blade saw the dirty, rust-speckled bronze mirror suddenly appear in Chen Fei's hand, he showed no scorn. Instead, the cold light in his eyes wavered for an instant. He had already sensed a hint of danger emanating from that mirror.

However, the blatant killing intent on his face did not diminish. On the contrary, clutching the Glory Page, his expression turned completely glacial, and he stared at Chen Fei as if looking at a dead man.

Clearly, he doesn't believe that bizarre bronze mirror could possibly be stronger than my Glory Page. After all, this is a Holy Artifact of the Nuo Deng Family!

"Foolish Eastern Lad, today, I will send you to meet God!"

At this thought, the murderous aura in Jack the Blade's eyes became completely unrestrained. In the next moment, brimming with intense killing intent, the Glory Page in his hand transformed into a crescent-shaped, milky-white blade of light that shot toward Chen Fei like a bolt of lightning.

"Is that so? Don't get ahead of yourself," Chen Fei replied with a defiant, cold laugh as he tossed the bronze mirror into the air. "Who knows? Today might just be the day I slaughter you. It's not impossible."

The bronze mirror immediately suspended itself eerily in mid-air. It emitted strands of earthy-yellow light like twinkling stars, which in an instant formed seven or eight thick streams of energy. Pulsing with a dark light, they fearlessly charged toward the crescent blade formed from the Glory Page in an astonishing display.

A thick brilliance cloaked the air amidst a cacophony of harsh noises.

HISS! HISS! HISS!

WHIZ! WHIZ! WHIZ!

The seven or eight thick streams of dark light collided with the crescent blade, emitting a dull, grating hiss of corrosion. Almost instantly upon contact, the streams of light began to be sliced apart by the sharp blade. However, before Jack the Blade could even feel a moment of pleasure, a piercing hum resonated. The crescent blade formed from the Glory Page quivered, and a thumb-sized notch was blasted into it by the dark light, chipping a piece away.

Jack the Blade's expression changed dramatically. He quickly brought a hand to his mouth, bit down hard on his finger, and let a viscous drop of blood fall onto the shimmering Glory Page.

Instantly, the notch in the crescent blade was repaired, and its terrifying aura of holy light seemed to intensify. Jack the Blade's murky old eyes glared at Chen Fei as he growled, "Don't celebrate too soon!"

"Glory Execution!"

At his furious shout, the crescent blade trembled and began to change shape completely in the blink of an eye. A dense, milky-white halo enveloped it, forming a crushing wave of light that annihilated everything in its path as it surged forward.

The Book of Glory was truly worthy of its title as a Holy Artifact. Even a single one of its five pages possessed such frightening prowess that Chen Fei's expression shifted, and he gripped the bronze mirror in his hand even tighter.

With the power he's displaying now, even someone like Yuann Liegang of Huadao Fort, a master at the Early Stage Peak of the Innate Realm, would be utterly defeated with no chance to fight back... but I still have a chance.

Chen Fei quietly pointed at the bronze mirror floating in mid-air while his other hand rapidly formed a specific Seal Gesture. Suddenly, the very air seemed to stir, and an incredibly dense energy surged up from the ground below. It swirled and enveloped the space, coalescing into an enormous, earthy-yellow serpent several meters long.

HISS!

The earthy-yellow serpent raised its formidable head to the heavens and hissed, unleashing a horrifying wave of power. Its enormous body shot forward to meet the crushing wave of light head-on, triggering an explosion whose shockwave blasted out for dozens of meters.

This uncanny and shocking clash was enough to make everyone present feel as if they were trapped in a surreal dream. Even Jack the Blade himself was stunned and starting to panic.

He suddenly realized... that Eastern Lad's strange, rusty old bronze mirror could actually go toe-to-toe with his Book of Glory! And that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was that Chen Fei's mastery over his bronze mirror was far superior to my own control over the Holy Artifact!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

HISS! HISS! HISS!

Unable to contain his rising panic, Jack the Blade frantically channeled power into the Holy Artifact. Intense, powerful beams of light erupted endlessly, sweeping toward Chen Fei. The resulting tremors were terrifying. Countless rocks were pulverized into dust, and the ground began to crack and collapse with a thunderous roar.

Chen Fei coughed up a mouthful of blood. He was enduring an unimaginable amount of pressure, spitting out blood as if it were free. And yet, the smile on his face only grew wider.

"Perhaps I can hold out until you're completely exhausted," Chen Fei said, his voice echoing in Jack the Blade's mind as the old assassin's pupils slowly constricted. "At that point, I'll have won by default. Don't you think, Your Excellency Jack the Blade?" He grinned—a chilling smile that sent an uncontrollable shiver down one's spine.

He... he... he's actually... Is he serious!?
