Cyprus was once ruled by the United Kingdom, so almost everyone can speak English. In reality, however, the country is primarily made up of Greek and Turkish ethnic groups. Due to ethnic and religious conflicts, it is now divided into North and South Cyprus, much like Korea. The Cyprus commonly referred to by the international community is usually Southern Cyprus, which was also Chen Fei and Corona's destination.
As the flight from Rome gradually approached Larnaca International Airport, Corona couldn't help but ask curiously, "Chen, are you traveling to Cyprus for fun?"
Considering Chen Fei's attire—he wasn't wearing any brand-name clothes or high-end watches—he still stood out like a crane among chickens in the first-class cabin of this international flight. He didn't look like a wealthy person at all.
Furthermore, regardless of any inherent sense of European superiority Corona might have had, she was surprised to discover through their conversations that Chen Fei knew more about most parts of Europe than she did, a genuine European and a native Briton. This felt quite incredible to her.
That kind of knowledge wasn't something one could gain by simply skimming through travel guides online or absorbing others' narratives as if they were one's own. Such understanding could only come from someone who had personally visited those places. Could he have already been to all those places?
It was common knowledge that while many people internationally considered Europeans wealthy, the truly rich were the established social elites in their thirties and forties, or a very select few impressive young individuals. Most Europeans around Chen Fei's age needed to work to support themselves and had very little disposable income, let alone enough to travel abroad so extensively.
So, seeing someone as young as Chen Fei so familiar with most of Europe, as if he had been there himself, Corona was naturally surprised and curious. Could this guy actually be a very low-key wealthy person?
Oh, God, you really can't tell by looking at him.
"Of course, I'm here to travel. I have a friend who's already there waiting for me; I'm on my way to meet her now," Chen Fei replied with a smile, not hiding anything.
"Oh, I see. You have a friend in Cyprus? I was going to suggest that if you were alone, maybe we could keep each other company. I think you're a pretty cool guy, and we could have fun together in Cyprus," Corona said with a touch of regret. She genuinely found this man from Huaxia interesting and capable, especially with his impressive medical skills, which prompted the thought.
Of course, in the eyes of Europeans, such a suggestion was completely normal, free of the convoluted nuances often found back in China. It was just a simple invitation to travel together.
"Thank you for the invitation, but we could still hang out together sometime, couldn't we? After all, it's just my friend and me, and Cyprus isn't that big," Chen Fei replied with a smile.
"That's true."
Corona's regretful expression softened upon hearing that. Then she asked with another smile, "Oh, Chen, if you don't mind me asking, is your friend male or female? If it's just the two of you having a date in such a romantic place, I really wouldn't want to be a third wheel."
"Then you're in for a disappointment. My friend is a woman," Chen Fei replied somewhat sheepishly.
A date? It's probably not like that, right?
"Oh, Chen, I think I guessed right, didn't I? You're a lucky guy, but it's also very romantic of you to invite her to such a romantic place for a date. You know, this is the birthplace of the Goddess Venus. A lot of couples dream of visiting when they get married," Corona said with a sly laugh.
"Corona, maybe you're overthinking it. The relationship between my friend and I is very pure; we're just friends… well, if you don't want to believe me, then never mind." Chen Fei started to explain but gave up. Corona's smile was just too cunning and teasing; it was clear she didn't believe him at all.
His words were met with Corona's hearty and carefree laughter. It was just as he'd imagined—this Western girl really didn't buy it.
The plane soon reached its destination. Corona, holding a British passport, could travel visa-free throughout most of Europe without hassle. Although Chen Fei didn't have a European Union passport, he had a Hong Kong passport arranged by Flying Leopard, which made the immigration process nearly as smooth.
It was worth mentioning that after making such a fool of himself on the plane, the tall Luo Bin still had the nerve to shamelessly stick by Corona's side.
This level of shamelessness even impressed Chen Fei. As they say, when one is shameless, one is invincible! This guy is really something else.
"Chen, it looks like we have to part ways here. Your friend should be waiting for you in the arrivals hall, right? My friend is here to pick me up too. I'm heading to Limassol; the beaches, sun, and sailing are fantastic there. If you want to join me, just give me a call directly—no need to be shy," Corona said after they cleared customs.
"It was a pleasure meeting you. If I get the chance in the next few days, I'll give you a call. And of course, you—and your companion—are welcome to call me anytime," Chen Fei replied with a grin, casting a pointed, half-smiling look at Luo Bin, who was still blushing behind Corona.
It had to be said, although the guy was thick-skinned, he was much more subdued now. He no longer dared to put on a superior act or speak with that condescending tone in front of Chen Fei.
"...Of course, Cyprus isn't that big. Goodbye, my Huaxia friend. I'm also glad to have met you." Corona couldn't help but smile at his words. She waved goodbye to Chen Fei, turned, and walked away, pulling her small suitcase behind her. As for Luo Bin, he immediately scurried after her.
What an interesting guy, Chen Fei thought, unable to help but shake his head with an amused smile. He had to admire the man's thick skin. To shamelessly tag along even after all that had happened was a feat that commanded a certain kind of respect.
He laced his hands behind his head, stretched, and walked towards the exit with a smile. He had no luggage, so there was no need to wait at the carousel.
However, just as he emerged from the exit, his steady pace suddenly slowed, eventually coming to a halt. Not far in front of him, a short-haired girl with bunny teeth who seemed to exude a faint Immortal Qi was quietly looking at him. Her delicate face was as captivating as ever.
"Shadow Immortal Dance," Chen Fei murmured softly, shaking his head with a small smile. He started walking again, slowly moving toward the long-missed, bunny-toothed girl.
Upon seeing him, the girl's previously calm, delicate features underwent a subtle transformation. The corners of her mouth lifted gently, and her beautiful, clear eyes, full of endless charm, seemed to blossom like the flowers of a parasol tree. A sense of joy she herself hadn't realized was there began to radiate from them.
"I've been waiting here for you for a month," Shadow Immortal Dance said, looking up at the approaching figure with a hint of dissatisfaction.
Has it really been a month already?
Chen Fei scratched his head, looking a bit sheepish. Then, he surprisingly reached out and gently tousled her incredibly soft hair. His lips curled into a smile. "Sorry, it won't happen again."
Feeling the unfamiliar yet incredibly familiar gesture, Shadow Immortal Dance instinctively tensed up, poised to resist. But when she looked up and met the gentle smile in the man's eyes, her own gaze inexplicably softened. Her body relaxed, and she didn't retreat or squirm, simply allowing him to gently ruffle her hair.
"There won't be a next time," she said slowly, her eyes locked on his.
Then, as if afraid of being misunderstood, she spoke again before his expression could change. "Next time, I want to go with you."
Next time, I want to go with you.
Hearing this, even Chen Fei couldn't help but let his eyes widen. Deep within them, an indefinable emotion—be it joy, happiness, or something else entirely—could no longer be concealed and began to spill out. He shook his head with a smile and stretched out his arms, pulling the girl before him into an embrace. "I have to say, you're such an innocent yet endearing woman."
As Chen Fei hugged her, Shadow Immortal Dance's body stiffened. A faint, unfamiliar blush crept up her neck and onto the delicate edges of her snow-white earlobes. She really wasn't used to this feeling. She gently pushed him away, lowering her small, delicate head. "Don't hold me. I'm not comfortable with it."
"Alright, let's go then. Where are you staying in Cyprus...?" Seeing her reaction, Chen Fei rubbed his nose and smiled, preparing to change the subject.
Just then, an angry and exaggerated voice with a British accent burst from the side. "Oh, Venus, what are you doing? Why are you with this stranger? Didn't I tell you? You can't trust strangers! You don't speak, so they'll try every trick in the book to deceive you!"
Seeing this person suddenly barge in spouting such strange words, even Chen Fei was taken aback. He cast a puzzled look at Shadow Immortal Dance, his eyes seemingly asking a single question: Who is this moron?
