Chapter 0597: Blisto and Du Liwei

Peiersido Grand Canyon is a geographical name that isn't—and wouldn't be—marked on any map in the world. This is because the vast territory is the fiefdom of the Ashford Family, who used their influence and power to effectively 'erase' it from global maps, preferring to keep prying eyes at bay. Consequently, the area became a true forbidden zone. The British living nearby dared not approach the so-called 'devil's territory,' for it was said that ninety percent of those who entered out of curiosity never came out, disappearing mysteriously inside. Even the lucky ten percent who managed to escape sometimes died inexplicably later. It was the Devil's domain, a place no one dared to venture near.

It's said the Ashford Family began its decline after the great war of the century before last. But as the saying goes, a starved camel is still bigger than a horse. Though they were past their peak, the Ashfords remained the top power—the number one force—in the United Kingdom's Dark World.

Under the cover of night, the Rolls-Royce motorcade carrying Chen Fei and Blisto entered Peiersido Grand Canyon.

From a distance, Chen Fei's keen eyesight spotted the towering canyon ahead. It rose from the center of the grey landscape like a colossal, crouching beast, yet surprisingly, its core was ablaze with brilliant lights.

"It's built *inside* the canyon?!" Chen Fei stared, dumbfounded.

He had never imagined the Ashford Family's estate would be constructed *within* Peiersido Grand Canyon. From afar, the canyon appeared to have been hollowed out. Its entrance resembled the gaping, bloody maw of a great beast, yet the interior glittered with flickering flames and was lined with rows of orderly buildings.

"The Ashford Family nearly reigned over all of Europe in the century before last. Though their ambitions were ultimately crushed, the heritage of such a family is terrifying... Even our Brad Family can hardly compare," Blisto remarked, his voice filled with awe despite this not being his first visit.

"That was all in the past," Chen Fei retorted with a smile. "Isn't your Brad Family better off than them now? Let's head in."

The motorcade then proceeded slowly into the canyon. At the entrance, the Ashford Family had set up a checkpoint. It wasn't heavily guarded, but all who wished to enter had to stop for identity verification before gaining access to the family's underground kingdom. Given the prestige of the Brad Family and the official invitation they held, they faced no obstruction and were waved through immediately.

However, they had to disembark and proceed on foot from this point. The canyon's interior was like a magnified underground castle, complete with houses, streets, and horse-drawn carriages for transport.

Just as Chen Fei's group was about to board a carriage prepared by the Ashfords, a surprised voice called out from a distance. "Blisto!"

Not far off was a group of more than ten people, led by a man and a woman. The woman was young, with blonde hair, blue eyes, a straight nose, and a striking figure. The smile on her face was particularly captivating. Upon seeing Blisto, her cheeks flushed red. She seemed shy, yet unable to hide the joy beneath her bashfulness. Clearly, she hadn't expected to run into the man she thought of day and night.

"Earl Aikenal! Du Liwei!" The moment Blisto saw them, especially the blonde beauty, his face lit up with an excitement he couldn't contain. He completely forgot about Chen Fei at his side and rushed forward.

Seeing this, Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, wasn't offended. Instead, he rubbed his chin and muttered to himself with a hint of amusement. This guy… Is that an old flame of his?

He wasn't an idiot; he could tell at a glance that Blisto was completely smitten. Though Blisto appeared somewhat old and had likely lived for decades, by the standards of the Blood Clan, he was still quite young—roughly equivalent to a human in their thirties.

"Ahem. Blisto, I didn't expect you to be here. Where is your father? And this is...?" Seeing his daughter excitedly holding Blisto's hand, Earl Aikenal put on a stern expression, coughed pointedly, and changed the subject. His gaze shifted to the young Eastern man with Blisto. Who is this young man?

Earl Aikenal's words snapped Blisto back to his senses. He remembered Chen Fei was still there and, to the utter shock of Du Liwei and the Earl, turned to Chen Fei with a look of panic to apologize. "Uh, my deepest apologies, Mr. Chen! I... I..." Others might not know how powerful and terrifying Mr. Chen was, but Blisto certainly did. This was the man who had single-handedly annihilated the Crimson Fang and killed the legendary assassin Jack the Blade. Forget Blisto—even his father, Old Brad, wouldn't dare to show such disrespect. And yet, he just had...

When Earl Aikenal saw this, he was baffled. Blisto, the son of the current Clan Leader, Duke Brad, was acting so inexplicably flustered and panicked before this young Eastern man. Given that the Earl's own strength was inferior to Blisto's, his expression changed, completely bewildered by the situation.

"Marquis of Blisto, aren't you going to introduce me?" Chen Fei suddenly asked with a teasing smile.

He wasn't some temperamental old fossil who would get angry over such a trivial thing. Besides, he was quite curious. What *is* the relationship between that blonde beauty and Blisto? There's definitely something fishy going on. Chen Fei mentally smacked his lips, the flames of gossip burning brightly within him.

Seeing that Chen Fei wasn't angry, Blisto let out a sigh of relief and quickly made the introductions. "Mr. Chen, this is the current Clan Leader of the Hawken Family, Earl Aikenal, and this is his daughter, Du Liwei."

"A pleasure to meet you, Earl Aikenal, and Miss Du Liwei. I'm Chen Fei," he said with an easy smile and a slight nod. Then, he abruptly turned to Blisto. "Miss Du Liwei is very beautiful. You like her, don't you?"

"I... COUGH, COUGH, COUGH..." Blisto froze. The blunt question sent a deep blush across his face, and he glanced around awkwardly, trying to cover his embarrassment with a fit of coughing. But as he coughed, his expression suddenly dimmed. "Mr. Chen, Du Liwei is the one I love, but... but..." His eyes filled with pain.

"But what?" Chen Fei asked, taken aback by the sudden shift.

"But Duke Old Brad looks down on our Horton Family for being too weak. He says we are not worthy of associating with the Brad Family," Earl Aikenal interjected grimly. He paused before adding, "And my daughter, Du Liwei, is not of the Blood Clan. Our Horton Family is a family of Magicians. Perhaps to preserve the purity of his bloodline, Duke Old Brad is unwilling to let Blisto's lineage be 'tainted'."

At these words, both Blisto and Du Liwei fell silent, their eyes filled with profound anguish. Two people in love, forced apart by the gap in their families' power and the obsession with bloodline purity... was there anything more painful? Probably not.

"I understand," Chen Fei said, his gaze shifting between Blisto and Du Liwei. "If you were to be with her, your own power would stagnate, or perhaps even regress, correct?"

"I..." Blisto's expression flickered, but then his voice became firm with resolve. "That doesn't matter. For Du Liwei, I am willing."

"Blisto..." A mixture of touched and pained emotions washed over Du Liwei's face. If only I were a member of the Blood Clan... If only the Horton Family were stronger, how much better would things be?

"It seems you two are genuinely in love," Chen Fei noted, a flicker of emotion stirring deep within him. He could feel the sincerity in Blisto's declaration and see the real pain on Du Liwei's face. He narrowed his eyes. "By the way, Old Brad has more than one son, doesn't he?"

"My father? Of course. He has four sons and two daughters," Blisto replied, confused by the question.

But in the next moment, he understood, and his confusion turned into wild joy. Chen Fei, Young Master Chen, had just said, "Why don't you mention my name to Old Brad? He ought to give me some face, right?" It seemed he was going to play the hero this time.

"Really?! Mr. Chen, I... I... Thank you! Thank you so much!" Blisto was so overwhelmed with emotion that he dropped to his knees. He knew that if Mr. Chen was willing to speak up for him and Du Liwei, his father, Old Brad, would absolutely not stand in their way.

Seeing this, Du Liwei and Earl Aikenal were completely stunned. Their gazes fell upon Chen Fei again, their minds reeling with shock and disbelief. Unlike the courteous and humble front he presented to a monster like Chen Fei, Old Brad was known to others as stubborn and ill-tempered. The Horton Family was considered Unranked in the Western Dark World, lacking even a single S-Level Powerhouse. Of course he would feel a woman from such a family was unworthy of his son and the great Brad Family.

Moreover, Old Brad himself was a peak Duke, a powerhouse of unimaginable and terrifying strength. How could Blisto and Earl Aikenal dare to defy his will? To do so might cost them their lives, and then all would truly be lost.

Yet now, this young Eastern man was telling Blisto to have his father—the esteemed Duke Old Brad—reconsider for *his* sake? To get him to approve a matter he had already firmly rejected would be far more difficult than trying to win his approval from the start. So why did Blisto react to this seemingly absurd proposal with such explosive joy? Wait, wait a moment... Could this young man's reputation truly be enough to make Duke Old Brad change his mind? The thought left them speechless. This...
